Hotel and rooms are quite old but clean and pretty enough. Service in beach bar are very good and Omar was very helpful and kind. Food is good
Atmosphere of this hotel was ok also our room were upgraded because reception team was not assisted me properly, especially receptionist works at night. He cannot speak English I guess. Also this hotel has not bellboy. Restaurants service really good however foods tastes are not good.
⭐ Very disappointing experience – far below what I expected from Mövenpick
Unfortunately, my experience at this hotel was extremely disappointing and, honestly, nowhere near the standard I would expect from a Mövenpick property.
First of all, I specifically requested a room with one double bed, but when we arrived, we were given a room with two separate beds. This should have been a basic request to respect, or at the very least, the hotel should have informed us beforehand.
Another very unpleasant aspect was the constant attitude of the staff regarding tips. We were repeatedly approached or made to feel that tips were expected. Tipping should be a choice, not something guests feel pressured into doing throughout their stay.
What was even more frustrating was the situation at the reception when purchasing small items. The staff refused to give back 1–2 dollars in change. It is not about the amount of money; it is about the principle and the way a paying guest is treated. The prices inside the resort are also ridiculously inflated. For example, I bought Antinal from a pharmacy outside the resort for around $5, while the same product inside the resort was being sold for approximately $20. A four-times-higher price is simply excessive. The spa staff were extremely pushy as well. They repeatedly insisted that we should go to the spa and use their services. Instead of simply informing guests about what they offer and allowing them to decide, they made us feel pressured and uncomfortable. When you are on holiday, you should be able to relax without constantly being approached and persuaded to spend more money. Unfortunately, the food was also very disappointing. The taste was poor, and overall the quality of the food did not meet the expectations I would have for a resort of this category. However, the most serious and unacceptable issue happened at the end of holiday. We had the ckeck-out at 12:00 and the flight was at 00:00.We could not get late check-out and our bracelet were cut off right away,so you could not get any water or food for free. BUT THE BIG PROBLEM was with our luggage. At the end of our stay, the hotel staff mixed up our luggage and actually gave my bag to another person and almost lost the flight because of that. This is absolutely unacceptable. A guest's personal belongings should be handled with the highest level of care and responsibility. Giving someone's luggage to another guest is a serious failure and completely undermines trust in the hotel's procedures. Overall I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL TO ANYONE
This was a vacation from hell. A hotel to avoid at all costs and never return to. To start with, we arrived very late at night and were given a filthy, worn-out room that looked more like a cheap roadside motel than a supposed 5-star resort. We were absolutely exhausted, but thankfully I always inspect the room before going to bed. I'm glad I did because we discovered a nest of ants inside the mattress, crawling all over the walls around the bed and throughout the room. We went to reception to complain and asked for another room. Instead, at around 3:00 AM they sent a man to spray insecticide for the ants. He sprayed our entire room, including the bed, pillows, luggage, and all of our belongings. Then they told us to wait outside for 10 minutes and claimed it was safe. It obviously wasn't. After 10 minutes, the ants were still there. We went back again and demanded another room. After about two and a half hours, we were finally moved. The food at this hotel is absolutely terrible and nowhere near what you would expect from a 5-star resort. Every single day it's exactly the same. After five days, I would honestly rather go hungry and drink only water than eat in that restaurant again. To make matters worse, they accept far more guests than the restaurant can handle. You regularly have to stand in line outside the restaurant for around 30 minutes just to get inside and eat. Completely unacceptable for a supposedly luxury resort. When we arrived, nobody explained anything about the hotel. We had to figure everything out ourselves. Most of the staff were rude, uninterested, and constantly expecting or asking for tips. There were a few exceptions, but unfortunately they were very rare. The ice cream was awful—basically flavored sugar water. Their famous "Chocolate Hour" with supposedly Belgian chocolate turned out to be nothing more than cheap melted Nestlé chocolate poured into molds. What a disappointment. The cocktails at both the beach and pool bars were mediocre at best. The quality of the ingredients was terrible, and every drink was overloaded with sugary syrup to the point that it made you feel sick after one sip. The à la carte restaurants are so overbooked that you'll be lucky if you manage to get a reservation at all. And don't even get me started on the beach. It's unbelievably shallow. Even when you walk all the way out to the buoys, the water barely reaches your waist. There is almost nothing to see underwater either—just sand, countless sharp pieces of dead coral, and plenty of venomous fish and sea creatures. Stonefish are everywhere, so watch where you step. The camel rides and horse riding offered by the hotel were honestly heartbreaking. If I knew who to report them to, I would. The horses are underweight, covered in wounds, overworked, and many have visibly damaged backs. It was genuinely upsetting to see animals being treated like that. My partner stepped on coral, severely injured the sole of his foot, and ended up in the hospital. As a result, we spent almost our entire vacation trapped inside our room. The rooms are supposedly cleaned every day, but all they actually do is leave bottled water, replace the toilet paper, and make the bed. During our entire stay, the bed sheets were never changed even once. Our towels were replaced only once, and most of the time they simply folded the same dirty towels to make them look clean. To make things even worse, the cleaner casually threw away some of our personal belongings that had been left on a chair. Finally, when the last day arrived and we couldn't wait to leave this nightmare, check-out was at 12:00 PM, just like in most hotels. However, unlike every normal hotel where you can usually pay for a late check-out or at least keep your all-inclusive wristband, Mövenpick offers neither. Our flight wasn't until midnight. We had to leave our room at noon, there was no option to extend it, and they immediately cut off our wristbands. Without those wristbands you get absolutely nothing—no food, no water, nothing. There is also absolutely nothing around the hotel where you can buy food or drinks. Except inside the hotel—but don't worry, they've made sure the prices are nice and high because they know you have no other option. So after spending several thousand euros on this horrible place, we were literally left like stray dogs without food or water for the final 12 hours before our flight home. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone, and I will certainly never return.
