Jaz Mirabel Resort

The main reason I am giving Jaz Mirabel Resort 3 stars is because of what happened to me at the perfume shop located at the very back of the resort’s shopping mall.

I ordered TWO custom-made perfumes and watched the man make both of them in front of me.

After making them, he sprayed the perfume on himself, then sprayed it on me so I could smell it, and placed the bottles back on the table. While I was smelling the fragrance, he called another man over to wrap the perfumes in bubble wrap.

At the same time, the first man kept talking to me about how good the fragrance combination was and continued the conversation while the other man was wrapping everything.

Because I had literally just watched the perfumes being made and tested them myself, I had absolutely no reason to think I needed to check the bottles again.

When I arrived back in the UK and unwrapped them, ONE OF THE TWO BOTTLES WAS COMPLETELY EMPTY.

Not leaked. Not half-empty. Completely empty.

There was no liquid inside the bubble wrap, no wet packaging and no evidence that perfume had leaked during travelling. It was simply a clean, empty perfume bottle.

What makes it even worse is that I thought they had given me good service, so I even tipped them an additional 600 Egyptian pounds.

Looking back at how it happened, I feel completely deceived. My attention was on smelling the perfume and speaking to the man who had made it while another person was wrapping the bottles beside us.

So if you buy perfume from this shop, PLEASE CHECK EVERY BOTTLE AFTER IT HAS BEEN WRAPPED OR ASK THEM NOT TO WRAP IT UNTIL YOU HAVE CHECKED IT YOURSELF.

Do not assume that because you watched them make the perfume, the same full bottle is necessarily what you will leave with.

The actual resort itself was generally good. The room was clean, the food had a decent amount of choice, the facilities were nice, reception were helpful and the entertainment team were especially lovely.

Some bartenders and waiters were less welcoming and sometimes made you feel as though you were bothering them when ordering, but overall the hotel stay itself was enjoyable.

However, coming home and discovering that I had paid for two perfumes and had been given an empty bottle completely changed my experience.

If you visit the perfume shop at the back of the Jaz Mirabel shopping mall, CHECK THE BOTTLES YOURSELF BEFORE YOU LEAVE.

The location is not bad, has hotels surrounding it, very sprawling, not far from the airport, it has a very relaxed atmosphere where you generally can get on with your experience and not be feeling too rushed. The rooms were generally quite clean and spacious, the house keeping team were attentive and always interested in knowing how they can make your stay better. Ashraf of the House keeping team was exceptional and excellent in his service, communications and attitude, he made our stay amazing and always checked on what was needed and when we wanted a turn down service, This resort definitely represent good value for money in that it was very affordable and had alot to offer in general. The ambience is quite mixed, the music at times can be loud and felt in the rooms and pool but it added the experience and environment generally. The amenities were plentiful, as it was a sprawling place we had to walk around a bit with children so always had to be prepared to walk abit up and down. In the general food hall, Yousef was excellent in his service and was always helpful, always had a space ready for us and treated us with such amazing love and respect, he went above and beyond and never felt like it was hard work. Also a mention for Mohammed the pool attendant. Always helpful in locating seating and if none available would go out of his way to make a place and get us comfertable. Always greeted us and was great at his job. As a returning patron, we were very familiar with the resort, the food while being reptitive at times, was of decent quality, always had soemthing for everyone, the grill guys outside the family/general food hall were always happy and helpful, they always ensured there was food available to us and even entertained my children. Whenever i needed help the front desk always had a solution for me, the staff were always helpful. I did very much enjoy my stay. The wifi can be patchy, tv always had something to watch, there was never any request too big or hard. I would come back and recommend this place as a great resort, great value and great times.
