SUNRISE Remal Resort

This may be a long post. We arrived on 9th September, we emailed before as we are a family of 8 to ask for connecting rooms as there’s 6 children. They said they would try the best but on arrival they said they were fully booked but gave us a room directly above each other. Only thing I can say that isn’t positive or negative.

This hotel is the best hotel I’ve been to in life. Every single staff member can’t do enough for you, literally go above and beyond the job role ❤️ Egypt has stole my heart it will always feel like a second home. We started the holiday with amazing staff, the end of the holiday we left behind not staff, but forever family 🥰

Alaa worked at the swim up bar, he brought drinks over to us, made sure all the kids had plenty fluids, went out his way to learn our names, as how we were and catered to everyone. Always happy smiling polite, such an amazing guy that became family.

Then we have ibrahim he worked in the lobby bar. The minute you sat down he was over to get you a drink, also always made sure the kids were happy at all times, genuinely the nicest friendliest man ever with a heart of gold. We will miss him so much and can’t wait to see him again next year… also became part of our family for life. If he seen us move a chair he was over right away telling us to leave it he will do it. Amazing man ❤️❤️❤️

Then we have Mohammed at the pool, never passed without speaking, laughing, making sure we were ok, catching up with the kids or asking if we need anything. Looked after us from our first day to our last. Genuinely broke my heart leaving, he never had a smile off his face in 40-45 degrees heat and still went above and beyond for us helping with sunbeds as we have a big family. Incredible man, again family for life!!! WE MISS YOU!!!!!

Abdul, again never stopped smiling laughing joking and having fun with the whole family. Knew us by name, looked after us the whole time around the pool, another part of our forever family. Such a special person and so grateful to have met them it’s been a pleasure ❤️ we will always miss you guys, already booked to come back to see them all. Can’t fault abdul friendliest person ever so polite and caring for everyone, he’s a beautiful soul!!

Then we have moaz, he was in charge of the slides, went above and beyond to get to know the whole family, knew us by name, always smiling and looking after the kids. The kids especially Evie, my 9 year old. Moaz was her favourite and cried when we went to say goodbye. Part of our family too, such a gem of a man like the rest mentioned above.

The hotel as a whole, not one fault from our experience, been home two days and already booked to go back. Cleaners, even they went above and beyond leaving displays for the kids 🥹kept clean and tidy daily. We always left a little note wishing them a good day or asking for water etc.

The food. As above we have 6 children even at home it’s impossible to please all of them, none of them like anything the same. The food was delicious, everyone always found something they liked, it was always hot, tasty and had theme nights but still had beige food. Two of my sons are autistic, I told the chef and if there wasn’t something they liked, he made them the pasta they did like even if it wasn’t on the menu. Can’t remember his name but the pasta guy, amazing!!!

We also had photos from the photographer from the resort, well worth the spend the photos are incredible!!! Not bad prices either.

The shop keeper that has juice red bull etc, part of our family! Nicest man on the planet! Always giving kids packets of biscuits etc, heartbroken when we left. We went in every single day just to see him, best cuddles ever! The kids wanted chicken noodles… the next day he got us a full box for the kids! Sweetest man ever! Goes above and beyond for anyone.

We also booked the desert buggies from the excursion guy from resort, haggled to get it half the price. Because of the autistic children they can’t do large crowds of strangers. They booked us the desert buggies that was only for our family on our own, they loved it!!! The first stop at echo mountain, all the little children come running up begging for water or money, it broke my heart so much as nobody warned us about this. Great excursion though!!!

The mosquitoes are horrendous my daughter got the most bites I’ve ever seen, but she didn’t want to leave either. Don’t underestimate how hot it is, my son has medicated suncream and still badly burnt! He’s ginger tho.

Best holiday ever. We spent 10 days there and wished it had been longer. Egypt will forever have a place in our hearts!!! And can’t wait to return. ❤️❤️❤️

Best thing about this hotel is the staff. Always smiling and helpful. Cleanliness was not to my standard. The floors were always dirty. The main resturant wasn't clean. The doors and door handles were filthy and the tables wiped over with just water. Advise you to take wipes and hand gel when you go to eat, this made us feel better about eating there. The food was typical all inclusive and plenty of it. We were disappointed to find the food was lukewarm at best. Therefore we waited until fresh food was bought out or only ate the food cooked in front of us to ensure it was hot. We wanted to book one of the other restaurants each night but, although it said you could it only allowed us one meal per stay in a speciality restaurant. We had a problem with our room (booked a twin, got a double). This was quickly rectified by reception and we had a lovely pool view room. Cleaning in the room was a bit hit and miss. The cleaner was asked to change the dirty duvet cover but just turned it over! The pool is lovely and there are plenty of sunbeds. The staff are always there to help with moving umbrellas, bringing drinks etc. You get quite a few massage people asking if you'd like to have one but it wasn't too much of a problem. Plenty of clean towels. There is a regular bus to the beach which was really nice. It is in walking distance if you want. There is excellent snorkeling there and its also shallow enough for children to go beachcombing near the shore. We didn't have children with us but they looked as if they were enjoying themselves at the mini discos with the enthusiastic kids club staff. The hotel runs a free trip to a show on a Sunday and Thursday an I'd strongly advise you to go! It was really good. There are trips available to book from the hotel and a taxi service to take you where you wish to go. There is nothing in the immediate vicinity but it's easy to get about. Wifi is good throughout the hotel. Entertainment leaves a lot to be desired. The acts they get in are good, however the events the staff put on are not. They are very amateur and seem to make it up as they go along. All in all it was a mixed bag. The staff and hotel itself are lovely but there is room for improvement.
