DoubleTree by Hilton Sharm El Sheikh - Sharm Bay

We were accommodated in the older section. The hotel is definitely in need of renovation; the rooms, pools, and common areas are all old and worn out. The rooms feature an outdated air conditioning system that is incredibly noisy and blows directly onto the bed. The restaurant is very small, and there were constant issues finding a free table or getting clean dishes. It was the first time we’d stayed at a hotel where guests couldn't get their own cutlery; only waiters could bring it, yet they often had none available, leading to long waits. There was a similar problem with glasses—they ran out every day, so drinks were served in paper cups, even at the lobby bars. Supplies ran out daily, and they would even serve leftover lunch dishes at dinner. The food was mediocre, and the drinks were terrible. The hotel deserves two stars at most. The waiters' behavior was odd, too: if you tipped, you’d get a drink in a proper glass (or a better-quality cup by the pool), but if you didn't, you’d get a disposable one. There was also a strange issue with drinking water; it wasn't available anywhere outside the bars, and even there, it came from dispensers that lacked cups. Small bottles—one per person—were delivered to the room once a day. We were told to call reception if we needed more, but despite making numerous calls, they actually brought more only once. On the plus side, the property is vast, so there was never a problem finding a sunbed—though the sunbeds themselves were damaged and very dirty. The pools were spacious, and the beach and reef were beautiful. I would certainly never recommend this hotel to anyone, nor would I ever return.

It is a great experience and the stuff is so friendly especially Jaber Mohammad in the house keeping department, the room is so clean. Must try ❤️

The rooms were good, however on arrival our room was not ready for us. We had to wait for at least an hour for another bed to be put in, after arriving to the hotel late at night. However, the hotel staff are lovely and have always helped us with an issue. The entertainment staff have been amazing, and everythibg they have put on has been great, especially karaoke. Our rooms have been cleaned every day and we have never had a problem, we have loved what the housekeeping staff have made out of the towels for example.
