We had a fantastic stay and overall a wonderful experience.
Emad and the pool bar staff were amazing, and Ahmad, the beach lifeguard, provided excellent service. The food was fantastic, and we received great service from Chef Tarek Khaled and the chef at the outdoor grill. Mahmoud and the restaurant staff were also extremely helpful and welcoming.
Unfortunately, I would recommend avoiding the spa and hair salon. The spa prices are far too high considering the poor level of service. My daughter only wanted a simple trim of her ends, and the hairdresser assured us she could do it. Unfortunately, her hair was left very uneven and zigzagged. Because she has thick, curly hair, we only noticed it after returning home and had to have it cut again to correct it.
Overall, we had a wonderful holiday and truly appreciated the excellent service from most of the staff. The spa and hair salon are the only reason we are taking stars off our rating.
For me, the experience at this resort was outstanding, really had a great time staying here. The hotel was very clean, anywhere not just in the rooms or in any pool zone. The food as expected, was fantastic, a great diversity of food in each day. Regarding the location of the resort, being placed right in the Soho Square, was a really big advantage for me and my famlly, being able to walk every night there without any problem. The beach is really beautifull, and clean. The walk there is around 10 minutes and the water is clear as crystal. The only downside for me was the depth of the water in the area where you can dive, the depth there being around 7 to 8 meters, but if you are a skillfull swimmer, this shouldn't be an issue. Also there are lots of colorfull fishs :) Also the staff working there was very professional and helpfull, regardless the area, that being the reception staff, the staff from the bar of the staff that is cleaning the room. I was pleased to have Mahmoud as the cleaner responsible for our room, and it was a 11/10 guy, he did an incredible job throughout my staying at this resort. Overall, I personally would give this resort the maximum grade possible, and I would come back if I have the chance again!
The hotel is perfect and the staff is great! All the staff is very atentious and everything is very clean. Great hotel to stay with the family and kids
The hotel is the best in Sharm el sheikh. Everything is perfect from the food, cleanliness and the staff especially Marco he is the best and very kind, and also Kerilos he is the kindest and the best.
This was our first trip back to Sharm El Sheik in 11 years and Sierra did not disappoint. We arrived after midnight, and check in was quick and easy, we chose not to eat but to have a cool beer at the small lobby bar… We were taken to our room in block 3000 by a lovely bellboy, and although it was very late, it was pleasing to see that we were next to the adult only pool…
The buffet food in Sierra was delicious, the best we have ever had in any Egyptian Hotel, and we have been to Egypt around 40 times… We ate only once in Akuna Mata and did not visit any of the a la carte restaurants, simply because the buffet food was to our liking…
We hung out at the Adult only pool every day, and were spoiled by Mina and Ahmed, and met so many lovely people from around the world… The World Cup was on and we embraced this, one of our favourite nights was supporting Egypt at Soho main square on the night they beat Australia on penalties, the party vibe was off the scale… We used the snack bar a few times and it was also delicious, fresh food, made to order, the mushroom soup was soooo good…
Entertainment was really good in Soho Square, but over 2 weeks becomes a bit repetitive… The constant strong smell from all the shisha pipes became a bit of a gripe for us… We are a couple in our 60s who don’t smoke, and we started sitting as far back as we could to avoid this… On occasions there was a singer on at the lobby terrace, for a short while on an evening, this was enjoyable, but we can’t understand why they don’t open up the roof terrace at night for adults who do not want to spend every night at the Square… They are missing a trick here, all they need is the international playlist, playing through the speakers on the rooftop, which could be turned down to an acceptable level… We have never stayed in a hotel with so little entertainment in the actual hotel before, it would not take much to remedy this… All hotels have entertainment on until around midnight, surely some background music playing on the roof terrace, would not affect anyone too much…
The staff from every single department were exemplary, I cannot find a single negative in this area… Mina and his team from reception, the bellboys, the bar boys, the housekeeping team, the waiting staff and managers and the pool lads and lifeguards, you are all amazing, just too many people to mention individually…
A few small negatives. *We were invited and transported to the full moon party at the Savoy, and were advised that alcoholic drinks were free… However we then had an issue getting a beer? Repeatedly sent to the left side bar, then the right side one, then back to the left side bar, then told we would have to pay for a beer! We were eventually given one beer each at the right side Savoy bar… We were definitely treated like the poor relations of the Savoy, and left after one drink… I did chat with the GM and he was a lovely gentleman, thanks to him for the lift back up to Soho Square… We had also been invited to go to the Savoy nightclub, with one free drink included, all of our group declined this offer, and enjoyed our own Sierra terrace bar…
*The lack of entertainment in the actual Sierra hotel…
*Sierra guests being served our drinks in plastic children party type cups at our Soho Square Bar…
*Queen Vic pub not giving us our discount on alcoholic drinks, this was fully resolved by the Sierra management…
All in all, we had a wonderful stay at Sierra, and would return in a heartbeat, however strangely at the minute, the price online is cheaper to stay at the Savoy than the Sierra?
Thank you to everyone who made our stay amazing, we hope to return and see you all again in the near future :) xxx
