Our stay at Bahari Beach during our honeymoon was fine, but I wouldn't return. It's a family-friendly place with cringey entertainment and average buffet food. Generally, staff were kind. Location is convenient. Access to the beach is great. The gym is quite well-equipped. But ultimately the room was pretty poor for the price. Very small. Shower isn't amazing. Complimentary amenities are limited to basic soap, shampoo, and body lotion. We slept really badly as the AC is poorly positioned so the room gets very hot. The mosquito net had huge holes in and our room had about 20 mosquitoes in so I got bitten all night. I've also visited the pool on separate occasions and witnessed racism here. White friends get served and perks like free drinks, African friends get stopped and searched by security, it's a big contrast.
I spent the past week at Bahari Beach Hotel in Mombasa and honestly, it was a wonderful stay. The location is fantastic, right by the ocean with stunning views. The food was delicious and varied, the rooms were spotless and well maintained, and the overall atmosphere felt relaxed and welcoming. What really made the difference, though, was the staff. Everyone was consistently kind, attentive, and genuinely caring. A special mention goes to Bella, one of the animators, who brought such warmth and energy. She took a real interest in guests and made every activity feel fun and personal. Thanks to her and the whole team, the experience felt not just comfortable, but truly memorable.
Wonderful hotel! Good rooms, great pool, cool beach and just a beautiful hotel all around. The staff, especially Hellen at the reception, Joshua the “pool boy” and Doris in the restaurant, made you feel at home! The breakfast is good but the dinners weren’t. I’m definitely coming back!
Beautiful quite hotel and amazing view. Food was ok and needs mire variety. Breakfast was great. Rooms very clean and attentive staff.
A wonderful place to rest and recharge. I never learned how to swim but there was a literal life saver Gideon who literally taught me how to swim basically…. I’ve always been so scared of the water but with him I’ve learned how to stay afloat!! I’m not sinking! Yay!! I’m super grateful for the experience and his patience with me! Can’t wait to come back to that lovely place!
