TripAdvisor Review
Great hotel, friendly staff, really clean, everything you need to unwind!

** Lovely stay at Hotel Riu Tikida Beach**

We’ve just returned from a fantastic stay at Hotel Riu Tikida Beach and genuinely enjoyed every part of it.

The hotel has a beautiful entrance with a welcoming feel, and the little shop inside is great—reasonably priced and perfect for picking up bits you might need. The seating areas throughout the hotel are comfortable and stylish, making it easy to relax from the moment you arrive.

Pool & Grounds:
The pool area was cleaned daily and always looked immaculate. There were plenty of loungers and beds available no matter what time of day we went down, which makes such a difference on holiday.

Food:
The food was a real highlight. There were loads of choices and everything was varied throughout the week. My personal standout was the lamb tagine—absolutely delicious. Breakfast had fresh omelettes made to order, lunch offered pasta stations and hand‑made pizzas cooked in a proper pizza oven, and dinner continued the theme with roasts, steaks, more fresh pizza, and mountains of fresh salad. Honestly, every meal was enjoyable.

Rooms:
Our room was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed. Housekeeping came daily, and the shower was a good size with lovely‑smelling toiletries.

Bars & Service:
All the bars were spotless and the staff were friendly and attentive.
Now, tipping—yes, it’s a hot topic. A 10 MAD note is about 80p, so giving 10 or 20 MAD here and there really isn’t a big deal, and it’s very much appreciated. You don’t need to tip every time, just occasionally. Like anywhere in the world, tipping gets you better service—that’s the whole point. My only gripe is that the cash desk at reception was hardly ever open, so getting smaller notes was difficult. In the end, I probably tipped less than I would have simply because I couldn’t get change.

Entertainment:
The evening entertainment was good fun. Yes, a little repetitive at times, but honestly no different to most all‑inclusive holidays. There was a mix of bingo, karaoke, and one night with dancers — all easy, light‑hearted entertainment that gave you something to enjoy after dinner without needing to think too hard.

Beach:
The beach is lovely, clean, and busy day and night. The hotel’s private area always had loungers available, which was great. It’s a bit of a walk to get a drink, but nothing too dramatic.

Street Sellers:
There are a few sellers outside the hotel, but honestly no more than any other similar destination. A polite “no thank you” and they move on.

Overall:
A wonderful hotel with great food, friendly staff, clean facilities, enjoyable entertainment, and a brilliant beachfront location. We’d happily return.

Tony & Estelle morocco experience

Back from a two week holiday. We stayed at Tikida Beach. The hotel itself was nice easy to get around easy access to the beach. Food was ok plenty of choice. Entertainment was fun especially the evenings the Tui reps were there. Entertainment during the day was fun the reps were very good at getting you to join in daytime activities. Overall we came home thinking " what a great holiday"

Great place. Ignore the bad reviews.

Having read a few reviews I was a little apprehensive about the hotel but there is nothing to worry about. I appreciate everyone has their own opinion but I just cannot relate to some of the comments. We always managed to get a sunbed and even when larger groups wanted to be together the staff helped to find and put beds and umbrellas together. I saw staff regularly cleaning the poolside, checking the levels in the pool, gardening and tidying. There were no more bugs, insects or bird poo than any other hotel i have ever been to. Each time we left to walk on the promenade there was at least one security guard and this was at all time, morning noon and late at night. All staff were so friendly and kind. We did tip small amounts having read about the tipping culture but this was not an issue atall. The equivalent of a pound every now and again was welcomed and accepted with a smile. However, I equally think the staff just appreciate a kind word and politeness which sadly I did not always see from the guests. Says more about some of the tourists than the staff in my opinion. The food was really nice. Again no more repetitive than any other AI I have ever been to. There was freshly cooked pasta, omelettes and a roast of the day. I didn't see any flies on the indoor food and staff worked quickly to replace and restock. Drinks were replenished quickly. The rose is lovely and the pool bar is great. Service was always good and a nice variety of subtle activities such as cocktail making, quizzes and then one big blowout....the pool party! Fabulous fun and only 2 hours if you absolutely can't cope with the music and foam. Evening entertainment was if a good quality. Dancing, singing and some karaoke. Again, enough places to suit your peronal preferences. The rooms are cleaned daily with fresh sheets and towels. A lovely little towel, rose petal display greeted us on return one day. Drinks are not always restocked in the room but as AI not too much of an issue. We visited the croc park, tree goats, cable car, market and hired a jet ski. All close by and reasonably priced. All in all, please do not be put off by the negative reviews. This has been a wonderful holiday.

Amazing staff but overall hotel let down

The hotel location was perfect as it was right on the doorstep to the beach which the hotel had a private section of. The hotel entertainment was 10/10 as the TUI reps were amazing at their jobs and encouraged us to participate in the events. The night atmosphere was amazing as well however no music was played after 11pm which was rather disappointing. The room we had was not of good value for the price paid for the hotel. Upon arrival we decided to unpack our luggage into the wardrobes- however two out of four of the doors were broken. The room had constant wet patches on the floor which we discovered on our last day were drips from the ceiling above. The rooms cleanliness was another let down as skirting boards and other crevices were visibly dirty. That said the bedding and towels which were replaced daily were always up to a high standard on cleanliness- just disappointing for a 4 star hotel that the overall quality of the room wasn’t great. The bar staff were lovely! They had amazing service and were very friendly and chatty. The food wasn’t great and we ended up eating out a few times. The breakfast was probably the best meal as you cannot go wrong with toast and cereal. The food became extremely repetitive, lacked flavour and the meals were extremely fish heavy. The staff at this hotel were amazing it’s just a let down that the food, room and cleanliness weren’t as amazing as the staff.

Friendly Staff and Good Service, but Some Areas Need More Attention

We arrived late to the hotel, check in was quick and easy, staff were friendly and welcoming. Sadly when we checked into our room, there was an overwhelming smell of damp, the bathroom ceiling and air conditioning were covered in mould, which was a shame as the room was generally nice with a view over the pool. Reception staff quickly moved us room, however there was equal smell of damp in the second room which covered the air conditioning unit. We were moved again to a pleasant and clean room, however this looked over the back of another building where rubbish and deliveries were constant, loud drilling/hammering about 8:30 in the morning. This meant we spent very little time in the room. Beds were made daily and fresh towels left, water and soft drinks in the room replenished daily.

Pool area was in lovely surroundings and we never any trouble getting a bed. The general pool area did feel unclean, pillows on beds were dirty and beds covered in bird poo.

Food was average. Felt repetitive and fresh enough to be edible. The Al a Carte food was lovely, particularly the steak.

Entertainment was hit and miss. Saxophonist on the terrace one night and pool party on Wednesday were good, evening entertainment was quite repetitive.

The staff were generally very helpful, friendly and welcoming. We did not feel the need to tip to get better service. Inside bar staff were very attentive and this was a lovely area, with a pianist playing.

Location was ok, not much around the hotel but a short taxi journey into the marina/centre of Agadir.

We felt the hotel was close to being lovely, but lacked finishing touches, attention to detail and cleanliness in some areas. We wouldn’t return.
