Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
Beautiful location and the Dodgy Dock restaurant very nice. Food was excellent and cocktails were amazing. Coffee shop on site was very nice- very good muffins. Was always able to get a sun bed as pools were never very busy due to lots of people using the dive school. You must do the Wednesday night as the band is very good and great array of food. Staff that stood out for us was Elsa, Sky and Akim who were all very friendly. Only downside was the amount of mosquito bites we got so would recommend you get good mosquito spray.
My family had a wonderful time at True Blue! Elsa and the entire staff were kind and friendly. The few things we needed were taken care of quickly. We stayed in a Villa. It was clean, comfortable, and so relaxing. It was my kids first international trip. They loved the breakfast, pools, and afternoon reception. We used the kayaks, went snorkeling, visited Belmont Estates, and several local beaches (BBC being our favorite) The beaches are clean and even offer shade under the trees. Traveling with 4 teenage girls, we felt safe the entire time. So glad we went and choosing True Blue was the best decision we made. The resort really made our trip special. The fact they participate in recycling, Water collection, solar/plant energy projects and packaging for a purpose is a true testament to how a business can help make a difference. If you are a diver..you will love it even more. If you are looking for a place..just book!
I recently stayed at True Blue Bay Boutique Resort and left feeling that the property does not live up to its 4-star rating.
The room maintenance was a real concern. The bathroom had visible water stains and rust streaks running down the walls, mold and mildew in the corners, a corroded and rusty toilet paper holder with damaged, patched drywall around it, and a deteriorating shower with cracked grout and corroded hardware. These are not minor issues — they suggest a lack of upkeep that simply isn't acceptable at this price point. Attached are 4 photos highlighting these issues. There were many other issues.
Dining was equally frustrating. At lunch with a group of 6, our food was brought out in three separate batches over a 25-minute span. I received my cheese quesadilla — one of the simplest items on the menu — last, a full 25 minutes after the first plates hit the table. On top of that, the menu was significantly limited due to missing ingredients; chicken was completely unavailable, eliminating multiple dishes entirely.
The resort does have an on-site dive shop, though it is independently operated and not affiliated with the hotel. The dive shop is called Aquanauts and is absolutely fantastic. It is operated independently.
Overall, this experience was well below what any traveler should expect from a 4-star property. I'd encourage propsective guests to look at alternative lodging options.
It's always a pleasure to stay at the trueblue resort, from the front of house staff to the amenities everything is just wonderful, the rooms are very clean not to mention the tasty breakfast, breath taking view, and the list can go on and on...I would always choose this hotel.
A lovely 7-night stay. The grounds of the hotel are well kept and previous pictures seen don’t do the resort justice. Our room was spacious and the kitchette, with sink and microwave, was useful. There was a good choice at breakfast - a perfect start to each day. Within 10-15 minute walk, there are restaurants, coffee shops and a small supermarket. The shuttle bus was a handy perk and useful for travelling in to Grand Anse area and/or BBC beach. The only complaint I have is the state of the gym - it let the resort down. Broken and old equipment led to a very frustrating work out - I gave up in the end. Spending money to modernise the gym and equipment should be the top priority for what was otherwise a very pleasant stay at True Blue Bay resort.
