Iberostar Rose Hall Beach

Well where do I start 😊 From the moment we arrived at Ibrostar waves was a pleasant experience met by barrington on reception who was brilliant and very helpful, He also helped us get upgraded as the room we first had looked pon was a roof top ,we moved to a room overlooking the complex and sea which was great 😊 Our concierge was Vanessa who was an absolute delight very helpful and just all over a lovely person to help with whatever queries ect .. Dean on the bar in the main lobby was lovely always making us his tasty hot chocolate at night time ,I’m pregnant so was appreciated as my drinks were limited to non alcohol , Too short on entertainment was funny and made the place a laugh , All the life guards were helpful happy and talkative and always making sure I didn’t slip ect … There’s a lovely lady called Margo who works in the buffet who helped me with food one night when my partner was poorly ,I wanted to catch her on my last night but missed her as she was a star and I wanted to thank her….So THANK YOU!!☺️ Shout out to one of the buggy boys i can’t remember his name but i named him Ghetts as he reminds me of a rapper from UK he’ll know who he is 🤣he was lovely ,Always chatty and took us around where we needed to go.. The hotel is so lovely clean and the grounds are looked after very well…I loved visiting the cats in the cat sanctuary which I think is a lovely idea keeping them safe and loved 🥰

Our cleaner who our regular was lovely and pushed the boat out for our bdays Making lovely patterns ect on our bed and keeping us fresh and clean daily she really works hard and is appreciated (2409) 😊

I suppose the only one thing that I personally would say needed looking at is the temperature control of the food ,Understandably cooking in such large quantities is hard to maintain but there was a microwave put out to make the food piping hot that’s just my preference as to what was a small problem for me especially being pregnant I like to make sure everything is 💯 hot and cooked properly, The food selection was amazing I loved the fruit and yogurt for breakfast every morning…along with sour sop and sorrel juices .

I met and love The locals affected by the hurricane last year who live off the beach selling their trinkets ect , I was invited down to there homes and saw the devastation but they spoke highly of the hotel and that they have really helped them with water supply and materials so they have slowly started rebuilding their community’s,Also giving them fishing boats to make ends meat 😊 So as a whole that makes that a hotel a winner from the get go!!really made me smile that the locals praised the hotel for their help 😊

Over all the hotel was fantastic we really enjoyed it and would definitely visit again and recommend for a relaxing while fun filled holiday .❤️

EXCELLENT HOTEL 🌟 I would like to start with thanking the entertainment members V6, Freshh, DJ Tony T.KK. Jaleel, O Wayne. Mickey. Too short and Concrete. They made our stay special and fun. Taking special interest on us everyday. We were the only ones doing some of the activities with them 😂

We were a family of 6 (4 adults, one 4yr old and 17 years old) it was something for everyone. The rooms were big enough to accommodate 3 of us in each room. Any problem was solved fast through the app (we requested a step for my son to reach the sink, in less than an hour it was in our room) and the cleaner made sure our room was clean everyday.

The gym is very important for me, and they have a perfect one, includes everything you need. Including lifting plates.

Food: we had jamaican food everyday, fresh fish and meat. There are different restaurants but we ended at the buffet most of the time. Yes, food can be a bit warmer. But the quality compensates it! Also after the hurricane, plantain supplies are limited and expensive so if you want some, go early for breakfast.

My son went to kids club most of the days and he loved it! He was busy everyday enjoying water park, lazy river and multiple other activities. The teachers were attentive and my son loved them!

Some reviews said hotel was outdated, but I don't see any issue with it. It made us feel homey, with character. Restroom were clean, bars and pool clean too.

Beach was beautiful with more than enough chairs and umbrellas for everyone.

There is a club which doesn't get very busy lol the dj sometimes doesn't play, he put a prerecorded mix 😂 but we had a great time anyway.

If I would change something, I would say add lower sinks in bathrooms for children to be able to wash their hands, but not a break deal.

I do recommend this hotel!

I recently stayed at Iberostar Waves Jamaica for 4 nights and 5 days with my family. We booked our vacation through JetBlue Vacations and were supposed to receive a pool/ocean-view room. Unfortunately, the room we received was not what we expected, and we were also surprised that the balcony was shared.

During our stay, our TV stopped working because the cable went out. We contacted the front desk and were told someone would come to the room, but after waiting about an hour, no one showed up. When we went to the front desk ourselves, we were finally told the cable was completely out. Thankfully, we had brought our Fire Stick, but the lack of communication was frustrating.

The food was also disappointing. Some of the food was served cold, and there were not many options for toddlers or picky eaters. I was also surprised that they didn’t have plantains, especially at a resort in Jamaica. During the VIP breakfast for the resort’s membership presentation, I saw a roach and small flies around the pastries at the steakhouse near the Selection resort, which completely turned me off from eating there.

The water park was another disappointment, especially since we were traveling with a toddler. Some parts appeared broken down, and the area looked old and poorly maintained, with visible rust. For a family resort, I expected the children’s water areas to be in much better condition.

The most upsetting part of the trip was having teenagers repeatedly kick our hotel room door and run away. This happened at night and even woke up my toddler. We reported it to the hotel and eventually learned that the children’s parents had been contacted and that the family would be leaving the resort. The hotel did bring us a bottle of wine, but the entire situation should never have escalated that far.

Overall, there were too many issues during our stay—from the room, food, and poorly maintained water park to poor communication and the incident with our door. Unfortunately, based on our experience, I would not stay at Iberostar Waves Jamaica again.
