Amazing honeymoon destination
Having not visited Jamaica previously we opted to take our honeymoon at the hotel. From start to finish it was amazing. We were upgraded to a sea view room. Had fruit and rum sent to our room upon arrival. Food was amazing. Drink choice plentiful. Would highly recommend.

Worst riu
The worst RIU hotel I have ever visited.
Unfortunately, my stay at this hotel was a huge disappointment—primarily due to the level of service and the way guest issues were handled.
Water started running down the wall in our room. We reported the problem, yet no one took any real action for several hours. Furthermore, despite the situation, we were refused a room change. It is hard to understand how a room with water leaking down the wall could still be considered suitable for occupancy.
Sadly, this was not an isolated incident.
Many public areas were messy; discarded cups, forks, and other trash were left lying around for long periods without being cleared away. There was also water in the hotel corridors that remained uncleaned for hours.
A particularly unpleasant situation occurred near the lobby, where there was a very strong, unbearable odor—reminiscent of a sewage or drainage problem. Once again, there was no effective response from the staff for a long time.
However, the biggest issue is the staff's attitude. The reception team left a very poor impression. When a guest reports a genuine problem with their room, they expect a response, some concern, and an attempt to resolve the situation. That was definitely lacking here.
During a heavy downpour, the reception made me wait nearly an hour for an umbrella; naturally, there wasn't one in the room.
This is all the more disappointing because I am familiar with the RIU brand from previous experiences. This is the first RIU hotel where I have encountered such a low level of service and such indifference toward guest issues. Unfortunately, a single hotel affects the perception of the entire brand. To be fair, however, the food is definitely the hotel's strongest point. It is truly excellent and varied, and the hotel deserves praise in this regard.
Unfortunately, good food cannot compensate for the issues with the room, the lack of response to reported problems, the mess in the common areas, and—above all—the very poor service.
I expected much more from a hotel of this brand.
Great Experience Ya Man
From checkin to checkout my wife and I had an amazing experience at the Riu Negril. The staff was incredible compared to other all inclusives I’ve been to. They were attentive to your needs always courteous with a smile! My dear housekeeping, Marcia, she introduced herself to me with a big smile and did a great service to my room! Mini bar always stocked every 2 days. Had the ground floor in building 1 great location to all amenities as we asked for because of my wife’s mobility issues, thank you Riu! The garden view was perfect! Beds were so comfortable and shower had rainfall and hand held heads. Entertainment team my favourite was Shin Shin she was an amazing person and dancer always making me smile and laugh but a shoutout to the rest of the team, Whitney, Shadow, Cuba, Trivos, 45, Pineapple, Hercules, Yogi Bear amazing team! Food: Only ate at buffet and Riu will always have very good variety, tasty and warm meals. Of course plenty of jerk chicken and pork, so good! Bars: never a lineup bartenders were very good at what they do, they’ll even make any drink you desire. Hats off to the bartender team. Pools, there was an adult only with swim up bar, family pool and volleyball pool all cleaned daily with lifeguards, Hi Steven, great guard Beach: Lots of loungers but no umbrellas because of wind and rain storms that do happen time to time. The ocean bay is spectacular and calm, no waves and crystal clear. Go early morning and see marine life as I saw starfish and a stingray, but once people go in later they disappear. Bus ride was 1.5 hours from airport but worth the wait. Nightly entertainment was pretty good live bands and don’t forget White party every Thursday night amazing music and vibe. Also live bands with reggae singers! If you smoke they have certain designated areas, so please don’t throw your butts out and respect the cleanliness Riu strives for everyone. You can snorkel right off the beach with some coral and colourful fish, saw a stingray, angel fish and sea urchins. So over all Riu Negril was a beautiful resort with plenty to do, Gret experience for first time in Jamaica

Riu Negril ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
My 2 girlfriends and I initially booked 3 nights at Riu Negril and ended up extending our stay for another night. This was an exceptional trip. What convinced us to stay was the people we interacted with. The servers and entertainment team were some of the most professional and welcoming people. We also work in the tourism industry and we understand what service should be like so we were blown away by them. We stayed in a standard double room which was okay. Food offering was good as well. Riu has a wide selection of cuisines and the food actually tastes good. I’m already planning my next visit and I’ll recommend this location to everyone I know. While I’m this trip, we took note of the names of persons we interacted with. Riu, please highlight these employees for their outstanding service which made us feel at home : Allison at the front desk, Mr Bestley in security , Flora Lee, Anthoney and Sade in the dining room, the entire ENT team was amazing but special mentions to : Shadow, 45, Whitney and Shin Shin, last but not least, we interacted with a manager by the name of Mr Leslie, very hospitable and professional. Will be coming back soon. ❤️

Our stay at Riu Negril
Beach, sea grass, quite a lot, very little fish, have to go on the reef to see plenty. Food, very good at all restaurants, especially Italian, Can be very noisy entertainment of a night. Quite pool, very good, lifeguard Leroy was brilliant keeping any noise down, thank you Leroy. Stayed in block 2, good position, unfortunately fire alarm going off, to many times. Our room 2209 top floor, was very good and very well looked after by housekeeping. Generally all staff very happy and welcoming, good service. We enjoyed our holiday very well.
