- Bellevue Dubrovnik

This hotel is set on a 30m-high cliff on Miramare Bay, boasting some of the most spectacular panoramas of the Dalmatian coast. It is just a 15-minute walk down to Dubrovnik Old Town - UNESCO's World Heritage. Dubrovnik Airport is 22 km from the property. This complex offers 91 rooms, individually designed to provide pampering home-away-from-home comfort. Each room comes equipped with air-conditioning, flat-screen TV, safe and en-suite bathroom with hairdryer and toiletries. The hotel features a mini gym looking out onto an indoor swimming pool as well as wellness and spa centre with spectacular views over the cobalt-blue sea. Guests can also go down to the bottom of the cliff to lie back on a pebble beach and soak up the hot Mediterranean sun.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
We had a fantastic stay at this beautiful hotel. The location is excellent, around a 20-minute walk downhill to Pile Gate and Dubrovnik Old Town. The hotel has a wonderful atmosphere, is spotlessly clean throughout, and the staff are exceptional – genuinely friendly, attentive and helpful without ever being intrusive.
The restaurant and bar are both excellent, whether for a midday snack, the gorgeous breakfast or a romantic evening meal overlooking Bellevue Beach. The setting is beautiful and the service consistently excellent.
The spa is relatively small, as you might expect in a boutique hotel, but this adds to its peaceful and exclusive feel. Again, the staff were wonderful.
There is a private hotel area by the beach with sun loungers, and we never had any trouble finding one. The beach bar has a good selection of food and drinks, with complimentary iced water too.
The only downside for us was the noise. Bellevue Beach itself is public and very popular with locals, so it can become extremely busy and lively from early in the day until well after dark. This sometimes took away from the otherwise romantic atmosphere when dining outside in the evening.
We stayed in a Superior Double Room with sea view and balcony, which was a good size, very comfortable and immaculately clean. The bed was excellent, although wardrobe space was limited. Light sleepers may want to bring earplugs, as noise from the beach can carry and we also found some sound travelled through the walls and floors.
Overall, a fabulous hotel in a beautiful setting with outstanding staff who really make the experience special. A little noisier than we had hoped, but we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would happily recommend it.
The Bellevue hotel Dubrovnik Fantastic hotel and lives up to its small luxury hotels in the world My wife and I have been to a few including Asante in Zante Greece These hotels do not come close to the Bellevue It has all the quality a proper 5 star hotel should have plus set in a cove with superb sea views The fine dining restaurant Vapor is absolutely outstanding and I have not seen one to match yet 10/10 does not do this hotel justice Do not hesitate to visit World travellers Liz and John payne
Fantastic location for the old town. Would recommend the short walk in and then getting the bus back though! The tasting menu was amazing and the wine selection that went with it was first class. Breakfast superb too. Staff all great - always smiling, attentive and wanting to help. Also helped to organise a meal out for our final night which topped it all off. Not cheap, but you get what you pay for! Would love to visit again.
Having spent some time researching options for Dubrovnik we selected this hotel and suggest you do too. Marvellous location a 12 min walk or 5 min bus from the old city. Our room was exceptional - as was the suite we enjoyed for our last nights. The facilities are excellent although given the lovely weather and various things we had planned we didn’t get to try the spa (we might try next time!). The breakfast is superb as is the view from the terrace. The beach area is great fun - especially watching kids cliff jumping!! The main restaurant is wonderful. Every dish was tremendous as was the wine. However the differentiating factor is the staff. Without exception they were friendly, accommodating and could not do enough to make ones visit a pleasure. We travel a lot and have had no hesitation recommending to friends and family.
What first strikes you about Hotel Bellevue (a Small Luxury Hotel) is its striking post-war architecture—a style from an era when Croatia was just starting to soar into the European tourism giant it is today.
However, when you are paying roughly €1,000+ a night, the real question isn't about the architecture; it’s about value for money. Unfortunately, for our stay, the value just wasn't there. (Note: I didn't raise these points with the staff during our stay, as most of our issues were systemic and not things the front desk could easily fix on the spot.)

Final Verdict In my opinion, Hotel Bellevue falls short of a true 5-star commitment when it comes to approach, room quality, food, and staff training. It feels much more like a proper, well-located 3-star property. As a general rule of thumb—and as you’ll see in my next review—hotels that feel the need to loudly advertise their five-star status right on the front door often struggle to live up to it.
