Surrounded by ancient gardens of Mediterranean vegetation, the hotel enjoys a magnificent and quiet location on the coast of the Lapad peninsula, overlooking the port of Gruž. The beach is just a few meters away and the picturesque old town of Dubrovnik, is only 30 minutes away by bus. The airport is 45 minutes away by car. It combines old-world charm with contemporary interior design, creating a unique atmosphere of timeless elegance. The rooms are luxuriously decorated and equipped with convenient amenities for a pleasant stay. The hotel offers other excellent services and facilities, such as an outdoor pool, pool bar, lobby bar and a conference room. The gourmet restaurant will delight the most demanding palates. Without a doubt, the perfect place for a romantic getaway.
We stayed here seven nights in August. It is well located - once you find the alley up to the strip there are lots of places to explore and it is on the bus route down to the Old Town. A walk there is possible, but not in August. The hotel is clean and well maintained and the room comfortable if a little neat on storage. Buffet breakfast and dinner was fine rather than exceptional, so we didn’t feel we were missing out occasionally going out for dinner. The pool area is small and fills up rapidly. The pool itself is also fairly small and shallow. The pool bar and restaurant is close to deserted in the evenings we were there. The evening entertainment was functional more than fun. Staff were efficient more than friendly, but all pleasant enough. In summary a great city centre hotel and base for exploring but perhaps not a resort to enjoy long sunny days at.
Hmmmm….Im actually shocked by most of these reviews. This is our third hotel in Croatia this week and it’s been really disappointing. The AC never got below 25, the room was hard to get to, the bed was probably the worst I’ve found in a hotel in 10 years, and the furniture was all very old and outta date. Truthfully, just grateful we’re only here one night, cause I’m not sure I could do another.
My partner and I had the pleasure of staying at the wonderful Hotel Lapad from 26 July to 3 August, and I can honestly say that it surpassed all of our expectations.
The hotel is situated in a truly stunning location, directly opposite the harbour and port where cruise liners dock, providing beautiful views and a lovely atmosphere. It is also an excellent base for exploring the area, with opportunities to charter a private yacht for an exclusive excursion or simply join one of the many organised group tours available nearby.
What really made our stay special was the outstanding staff. Every member of the team we encountered was friendly, professional, polite, and incredibly helpful. Nothing ever seemed too much trouble, and their genuine warmth contributed greatly to the overall experience.
The food was excellent throughout our stay. Breakfast offered an abundance of choice each morning, catering for all tastes, while the evening buffet was equally impressive on the occasions we chose to dine at the hotel. The quality, variety, and presentation of the food were consistently superb.
Our room was exactly as expected and was maintained to a very high standard. It was cleaned daily and kept immaculate throughout our stay, which was greatly appreciated.
The pool and courtyard areas were another highlight. There was always plenty of space to relax, and we never struggled to find a sunbed. Clean towels were provided daily, and it was wonderful to be able to enjoy a refreshing drink or a spot of lunch while unwinding in such pleasant surroundings.
Getting into Dubrovnik's beautiful Old Town was very easy. The local bus service is convenient and takes around ten minutes, while those feeling energetic can enjoy a scenic walk of approximately 35 to 40 minutes.
I would like to extend my sincere thanks to the management team, reception staff, guest representatives, catering team, housekeeping staff, and everyone else who worked so hard behind the scenes to make our stay such an enjoyable one. Their commitment to excellent service was evident throughout our holiday.
Without doubt, this has been one of the best holidays my partner and I have ever enjoyed. We left with wonderful memories and are already looking forward to returning to Hotel Lapad in the future.
Thank you to everyone at Hotel Lapad for making our stay so memorable.
Not long home from 10 days at this hotel, we decided it definitely has the city break feel to it. Great location in easy walking distance from restaurants, shops and a few bars. Right on the marina so a beautiful view from the balcony. We had a side sea view room on the 6th floor, good size, very comfy bed, ample storage space, the shower pressure was ok but not great, hairdryer was good if very hot for my fine long hair but possibly take your own. Towels changed daily and rooms kept clean. Good sized kettle with nice big cups for early morning coffee/tea, replenished daily.
We stayed half board and the breakfast was great, everything you could want hot and cold plus a nice glass of fizz, definitely the best for food options. The evening meal was ‘ok’ and served a purpose but the restaurant could be so quiet with hardly anyone there at times we did eat out on a number of occasions, so in hindsight we could really have stayed b&b. In our opinion the drinks prices at the hotel were actually on par with everywhere outside apart from the supermarkets which we did go to and fitted 2 litre bottles of wine and a litre of water in the little room fridge😂 so it is possible! Yes the balcony is tiny but fitting with the boutique style of the hotel and we had no problem sitting out there with a drink and the lovely views… every opinion is personal eh?
If we had a day at the hotel we got beds in the garden area as sadly I’ve never witnessed such an awful near on fight over sunbeds by 2 couples around the pool which pretty much put me off even trying for a bed poolside!!
This hotel has a really high turnover of guests from all over the world giving it the city break feel. Overall we had a great stay and I would recommend staying here if you want somewhere near Dubrovnik🇭🇷
Just back from a gorgeous 10nights at this lovely hotel. We came on a package with Jet2 but the guests were varied with some only coming for a few days or bookending their cruise. Location was perfect. We loved the harbour and strolling down to Sunset beach. Easy to walk into the old town as well with a handy bus route if you need it. We ate at the hotel so can’t comment on restaurants but found many fab bars nearby. Breakfast was great and there was enough choice in the evenings. Pool can get busy but we never really struggled and the garden space was always there if needed. What made this hotel so wonderful though was the staff. Everyone was so welcome and friendly. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend. Thank you Hotel Lapad 😊
