Just returned from a 5-day visit to Croatia, and overall, we really loved our stay.
The hotel was exceptionally clean, and all of the staff were very friendly and welcoming. I had seen a few reviews mentioning that the drinks were expensive, but personally, I’d say they were only slightly above average and certainly not what I would consider crazy prices.
The breakfast buffet was excellent, with a great variety of choices and plenty of fresh food. One thing I would definitely recommend, though, is upgrading to a sea-view room with a balcony if you can. Our room itself was a great size, but unfortunately, we were placed on the ground floor facing the car park. We did ask if there were any other rooms available, but sadly there weren’t.
I had also emailed beforehand to let the hotel know that we were visiting as part of my 30th birthday celebrations. Unfortunately, nothing special was offered, although I completely understand that it was high season and the hotel was very busy.
The location is great, and getting into the Old Town is really easy, with buses running approximately every 10 minutes. The indoor pool and spa area are also stunning and were a lovely place to relax after a day of exploring.
Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend this hotel. There were a couple of small things that could have made our experience even better, but overall, it was a lovely hotel in a great location, and we had a fantastic time in Croatia.
What a great stay just a short trip from Dubrovnik Old Town. We were welcomed by Lorena on reception and she was incredibly helpful throughout our stay. The hotel had a lovely feel. Evening music at the bar, good food in the restaurant. Gluten free options varied but I ate well all week. Katarina in the Momenti restaurant helped a lot. Elvin at the Pool bar also got great gluten free snacks for the V Level area. The room was spacious and clean. Thanks all for a great holiday.
From room 2005- the experience was awful. Especially the whole service from the restaurant. I was waiting for so long for someone to come to order drinks through my whole stay. Definitely not recommending and I’m also never coming back.
The food was actually good, but the organization of the restaurant was very poor. The main problem seemed to be with the organizers and management. There was a lack of coordination, which resulted in unnecessary waiting and confusion. The staff were trying their best, but the overall organization was clearly not good. With better management and organization, this could be a much better experience.
So far we have been having a fabulous time at Valamar Lacroma Hotel. We booked it two weeks ago, a last minute holiday with my mum and 7 year old daughter. The superior room has been perfect for us (despite the lower floor not having too much of a view, we can shade better on our larger balcony) the staff have all been incredibly friendly and attentive (especially Angelika, who we frequently see at our meal and recommends lovely wine) The food has always been delicious, visiting the President Hotels beach is a treat, the indoor and outdoor pool is lovely to spend time in. We read online about people complaining how the dining area is cool. I get that its fresh, but we find with some mosquito repellent on, its so much nicer to sit outside and enjoy the sunsets and scenery. So far cannot fault the hotel, definitely worth staying while in Croatia if you want to be close, but not directly in Dubrovnik
