We spent a wonderful week at the Amethyst Hotel in Ayia Napa, and I can confidently say that everything was perfect!
The hotel is clean, modern, and extremely comfortable. I would especially like to highlight the cuisine: the food is simply brilliant, and we could choose from a variety of delicious dishes every single day.
They also offer great and varied activities daily. A huge praise goes to László, the animator, for the amazing atmosphere and entertainment. He was incredibly kind, approachable, and fun, making our stay even more memorable.
If you visit Cyprus, I highly recommend this hotel from the bottom of my heart. We would definitely return!
We spent some wonderful days at the Ametyst Hotel in Cyprus. The hotel’s location is excellent; everything was easily and quickly accessible. The food was incredibly delicious and varied; we found something to our liking at every meal. I would especially like to highlight the waitstaff, who were incredibly kind, attentive, and helpful throughout our stay. Laci, the entertainer, was simply brilliant! He created a great atmosphere, did an amazingly professional job, and ensured we didn't have a single dull moment. We will definitely be back!
We’ve just returned from a wonderful stay at the Amethyst Hotel and wanted to leave an honest review.
From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by the lovely reception staff who made us feel welcome straight away. Check-in was quick and informative, and they explained everything we needed to know about the hotel.
The hotel itself is spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The refurbished rooms are modern, fresh and well looked after, making our stay even more enjoyable.
The pool is a great size and, during the week, there were always plenty of sunbeds available. However, weekends were a different story. The hotel allows local guests to use the facilities, which in itself isn’t a problem. The issue is that paying hotel guests struggled to find available sunbeds because it became extremely busy. Unfortunately, some local families also left rubbish, cups and food packaging on the tables and around the pool area. I actually found myself collecting and throwing away a pile of litter that had been left behind. It made the pool area feel chaotic and is something I think the hotel should address, as it lets an otherwise lovely experience down.
The food was excellent throughout our stay. I’m genuinely surprised by some of the negative reviews because there was plenty of choice every day. The themed evenings were a lovely touch, and even my son, who is an incredibly picky eater, always found something he enjoyed.
The entertainment was enjoyable too. The entertainment representative was fantastic with the children and created a lovely atmosphere without ever making guests feel pressured to join in, which was really appreciated.
Also if you want to go into town, there’s a bus stop over the road which is only €2
I also have to give a special mention to the reception manager. During our stay, we thought my son had run out of his epilepsy medication. Without hesitation, he immediately arranged for replacement medication to be delivered the following day. Thankfully, we found the missing medication before it arrived (typical!), but I can’t thank him enough for his kindness, efficiency and genuine concern. That level of customer service was exceptional and meant a great deal to us.
Overall, we had a fantastic holiday. Aside from the weekend pool situation, which I hope the hotel reviews, we couldn’t fault our stay. The staff are a real credit to the hotel, the food is excellent, the rooms are beautiful, and we would happily return.
Fantastic Day Pass Experience – Amazing Pool, Service & Entertainment! My daughter and I regularly visit the Amethyst Hotel for the day, and it's always a fantastic experience. We spend the day enjoying the large swimming pool with its relaxing jacuzzi jets, and there's always something fun happening with the activities. It's the perfect place to unwind while still having plenty of entertainment. The service at the pool bar is excellent. The staff are always friendly, attentive, and welcoming, making every visit enjoyable. Although we don't stay at the hotel, we also come back in the evenings to watch the entertainment shows because they are so good and well worth it. A very special mention goes to Koko, the animator, who truly makes the experience unforgettable. His energy, enthusiasm, and talent are outstanding. We love joining his aqua aerobics sessions, Splash Bingo, and games like billiards and darts. He has an incredible ability to get everyone involved, creating such a fun, friendly, and lively atmosphere. His one-man acrobatic and fire show is absolutely spectacular and a real highlight. We also loved the Michael Jackson show—it was entertaining, professional, and full of energy. Koko is a huge credit to the Amethyst Hotel. He brings so much positivity and creates an atmosphere where everyone is laughing, dancing, singing, and having a wonderful time. His passion for entertaining guests shines through in everything he does. A big thank you as well to the pool bar team for their excellent service. We always leave with a smile and look forward to coming back. We highly recommend the Amethyst Hotel—not only for its fantastic pool and friendly staff, but also for the outstanding entertainment that keeps us returning time and time again.
The hotel did not meet our expectations on all levels bar the entertainment. The rooms are supposed to be recently refurbished, but they were shabby. Our room was supposed to have three beds, but it was not mentioned that one would be an armchair/sofe pullout bed. It was uncomfortable for the whole of the 10 nights. This was supposed to be all inclusive, yet the htoel charged €10 deposit for towels, €20 to use the safe and €20 for 30 mins to use the Sauna and Steam room (which I have never experienced before). Definitely not all inclusive. The food was mediocre. On carvery night, they had some gammon in one corner of the restaurant, on Italian night, pizza and pasta, the same you could get any night, and on Amethyst night, it seemed like the food was left over from the week. The ran out of desserts on a number of occasions. The staff were very helpful and caring. Not great to be honest.
