My partner and I have just returned from an incredible two week stay at the Amavi, and all I can say is WOW. As two people who tour for work, it normally takes us a while to switch off from the chaos of everyday life, but the Amavi and its faultless staff made relaxing feel effortless.
*Location
The hotel's beachfront location is perfect. It benefits from a lovely sea breeze throughout the day, and the sunrises and sunsets are absolutely stunning. It's tucked just far enough away from the centre of Paphos to feel peaceful and secluded, while still only being an easy walk into town if you fancy exploring. We loved walking along the coastline, visiting the different beaches, and making the most of the watersports available just a short stroll away at Pafos Watersports.
*Atmosphere
The atmosphere throughout the hotel was exactly what we were looking for; quiet, calm and incredibly relaxing. During our entire stay there was only one occasion where another guest disrupted that peaceful environment, and the hotel management dealt with it quickly and professionally. We really appreciated how seriously they took maintaining the tranquil atmosphere.
*Rooms
Our room was spacious, spotless and very comfortable. For anyone interested, the minibar is fully stocked, although I personally think an additional fridge dedicated for your use would be a nice touch. The balcony was undoubtedly my favourite feature, offering beautiful uninterrupted views of the sea that never got old. The only minor criticism would be that the mattress wasn't quite to my partner's preference, but that's entirely subjective and was the only flaw we could find.
*Value
The Amavi is undeniably a luxury hotel, so the price can initially make you question whether it's worth it. After spending two weeks there, we genuinely believe it is worth every penny. The only advice I'd offer is that if you're considering paying for an additional buffet lunch or dinner that isn't included in your package, you may find better value by treating yourself to one of the excellent restaurants in Paphos, as the cost is often very similar.
*Food
Breakfast was excellent every morning, with plenty of choice whether you wanted to eat healthily or indulge a little. There was a fantastic selection of fresh fruit alongside all the usual cooked breakfast options, with eggs, omelettes and pancakes freshly prepared to order.
We had most of our lunches at the pool bar, which serves a good selection of dishes. By the end of a two-week stay, however, the menu did begin to feel a little repetitive, particularly if you enjoy trying different foods.
Most evenings we chose to explore the restaurants around Paphos rather than dine at the hotel. On the occasions we did eat there, we weren't disappointed. The main buffet isn't enormous, but everything we tried was fresh, well prepared and enjoyable.
*Cleanliness
The hotel was impeccably clean throughout our stay. Housekeeping kept our room beautifully maintained, often servicing it multiple times a day, while the pool and bar areas were constantly being tidied. Staff regularly walked around collecting empty glasses, bottles and anything guests had left behind, so everything always felt immaculate.
*Noise Level
One of the things we appreciated most was how peaceful the hotel was. There was no loud music around the pools or sunbeds, making it incredibly easy to relax. In the evenings you can occasionally see party boats in the distance, complete with music and fireworks, but they were never disruptive. Aside from the single incident mentioned earlier, which management handled promptly, we enjoyed uninterrupted peace throughout our holiday.
*Service
The exceptional service started the moment we arrived, when we were welcomed with drinks, and it continued for the entirety of our stay. Every member of staff was attentive without ever feeling intrusive - they somehow always seemed to be there exactly when you needed them while quietly working in the background the rest of the time.
A special mention has to go to Mario, Valeria and Ram behind the pool bar. They were genuinely lovely people whose warmth and sense of humour made every visit enjoyable. The fact that they remembered our favourite drinks without us asking made the experience feel incredibly personal and was one of the many reasons our stay was so memorable.
*Amenities
The two outdoor pools were both beautifully maintained and offered slightly different experiences. The swim-up bar pool had a wonderfully relaxed atmosphere, while the second pool, with its water features and lush surroundings, had what I can only describe as a tropical or jungle-like feel. It also offered plenty of shaded areas, making it a lovely place to cool off during the hottest parts of the day. There is also a gym, spa and indoor pool available. We didn't personally use these during our stay, as we spent most of our time enjoying the sunshine outdoors, but it's great to have those options available.
We enjoyed our stay so much that we actually extended our holiday while we were there (a first for us). That probably says more than anything else I could write. We wouldn't hesitate to return for a peaceful, luxurious and genuinely relaxing escape.
Second time here and thought the first time was good but second time even better. We booked for 14 nights after staying for 10 nights last year which was not enough!! We were in room 333 which was on the corner and had great views. All staff are exceptional and very friendly, we love the sun bed allocation and the pools are very clean. The food is excellent and great to have a theme night every evening although we did swop dinner for lunch sometimes as its nice to venture out and sample some of the local restaurants. What we enjoyed on the evenings is there is no rush once you are seated you can take your time it does get busy around 8pm so bear that in mind if you want to be seated outside. We especially enjoyed Immenso the food was first class along with the service. The breakfasts could get quite busy around 9.15-9.45 so if you want to be seated outside avoid those times. This is an amazing hotel and we cant wait to book for next year.
Have wanted to visit Cyprus for many years and chose Amavi, MadeForTwo, based on fantastic reviews, and we can only add to these as this was a truly one of the best holiday's we have ever had.
After the madness of Pathos airport and a 90min wait for coach transfer (always arrange a taxi through hotel) we arrived at the hotel and were blown away.
Stunning hotel, spotlessly clean and a very friendly welcome with very quick booking in process.
We were in room 317, and the room was beautiful and very clean, with stunning views to the beach and harbor. We also received a bottle of bubbly, cake and flower petals for our anniversary which was a lovely touch.
As many others have said, the sun bed allocation was amazing and something we had not experienced before. We wanted to be next to the pool but none were available but it was no hassle to get us there next day when others were leaving. To be able to wake up when you want and know you have your beds all day, every day really added to the whole experience.
The pool and swim up bar were so beautiful, with very warm water which we dipped into every 30mins as it was so hot and the indoor pool adjacent to the main pool was very refreshing.
Really nice touches throughout the day with fruit shots morning and afternoon and cold towels.
Best sun beds we have ever experienced along with your own safe to keep your valuables.
All the employees at this hotel were so friendly and professional. Nothing was ever a problem and the service levels were as good as you could ever ask.
Really enjoyed the cocktail bar every evening. Great entertainment and lovely atmosphere. The cocktails were out of this world and a big thank you to Valentin and his staff who were so friendly.
But the one thing that puts this hotel ahead of anywhere we have visited is the food. Absolutely exceptional!! The buffet had a themed night every evening and particularly enjoyed the Mexican and Italian.
Fort O Lana gave us a lovely taste of local Cypriot cuisine. A lot of food and very filling.
Nocturne was the 7 course taster which we thoroughly enjoyed with the most incredible piano player whilst we ate.
And last but not least, Immenso on the hotel roof top. Breathtaking views of the harbor and sunset and equally amazing food.
The beach and harbor area were also lovely and everything is so clean. Also loved all the friendly cats that wander through the hotel ground.
So an amazing holiday that exceeded all our expectations. The only negative being we only had 1 week, but will be booking without fail for a longer stay next year.
Thank you to all at the hotel for making our stay so special.
What an amazing hotel (our 4th visit in 18mths). The hotel quality is excellent location is a perfect distance from Paphos harbour (15min walk along the coastal path). The Cabana rooms at the hotel with a private pool are wonderful. Food is very good but also there are several quality restaurants in walking distance. Looking forward to visiting again in September.
We are coming towards the end of our first time to the Amavi Made for Two and it will certainly be a hotel we will recommend.
We have visited many adult only hotels in Europe and this is definitely a hotel to be considered one of the best.
There are a few cats - they don’t interfere with you unless you choose to interact with them but it’s worth noting in case you have an allergy.
Overall an excellent stay, a well looked after hotel and one I would recommend for a peaceful, relaxing visit.
