Centrally located Kefalos Damon is definitely your laid back haven, the new look of our Cyprus Hotel Apartment with the recent renovations and extra additions will enhance your holiday experience. The apartments at the Kefalos Damon are clustered around a complete courtyard area with 3 swimming pools, 3 wide sun terraces, kids club, sauna and massage room, mini market, restaurants, pool bar, and lobby bar. As an advantage of being our guest, you have the privilege of using the facilities and amenities of our sister hotel Kefalos Beach Tourist Village, located only 500 meters away from us and right on the beach. Facilities such as the pool area, the sun beds, the beach, the gym, the lobby area and Wifi in the public areas are free. All the food and beverage outlets at our sister hotel can be used and charges are applicable as per the menus.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
We come back year after year and would not go anywhere else now. Everywhere is spotless rooms cleaned and topped up with towels etc regularly. The food is fresh and beautifully cooked with something for everyone and themed food evenings. Highly recommend the Greek night. Front of house always greet you with smiles and helpful with knowledge of sites to visit locally. Hotel can organise car and bike hire also. The shop is small but well stocked with everything you could need. Dining room and pool staff always polite too. Huge thanks to my Yiannis and Mr Andrea's too for continued welcome. Too many staff to individually mention. Feels like a 5 star hotel. Highly recommend it can't wait to go back in 2027.
Our Stay at Damon Hotel & Apartments, Paphos 🇨🇾
We recently stayed at the Damon Hotel & Apartments in Paphos as a family of four. Overall, it’s a nice, clean hotel in a good location, but unfortunately there were a few things that stopped us from wanting to return.
🛏️ The Room
Unfortunately, we had a few problems with our room when we first arrived. It was quite obvious that the room hadn't been properly checked after the previous guests had left.
After going back to reception and asking to speak to the hotel manager, the issues were eventually rectified, which we appreciated. However, these are things that really should have been picked up before the room was handed over to new guests.
Another issue for a family of four was the lack of storage space. We found it difficult to find enough room for everyone's clothes and belongings, particularly for a longer stay.
🍽️ Food
This was probably the biggest disappointment for us.
Breakfast and lunch were very repetitive, with pretty much the same options available every day. Lunch in particular seemed to revolve around chicken, pork and boiled potatoes, with very little variation.
Evening meals did have themed nights, but unfortunately the food itself didn't always reflect much variety. Chicken, pork and boiled potatoes seemed to make another appearance regardless of the theme.
For an all-inclusive hotel, we'd have liked to see a much wider choice and more variety, particularly at lunch and dinner.
🎤 Entertainment
The entertainment wasn't really to our taste. It had a very strong 1980s/1990s holiday entertainment feel, with things like Open the Box and bingo being a regular feature.
Bingo seemed to be particularly prominent, and at times it felt more focused on getting guests to spend extra money rather than providing entertainment as part of the all-inclusive experience.
If you enjoy traditional, old-school hotel entertainment, you may actually love it — but it wasn't really for us.
Overall, the hotel had a bit of a Butlins-style feel to it.
🏊 Pools & Sunbeds
The pools are very small for the size of the hotel, and when inflatables are being used they feel even smaller.
One positive, though, was the availability of sunbeds. We were pleasantly surprised that there were still some available after 8am, which is definitely a bonus compared with some hotels where people are reserving them at ridiculous times in the morning.
👨🍳 Staff
The staff were one of the best things about the hotel.
The bar staff and restaurant staff work extremely hard, and we found them to be polite, friendly and helpful throughout our stay.
A special mention to John, Robert, Maria and Apida, who all stood out for us during our stay. And a big thank you to all the restaurant staff too — they work incredibly hard, even when the restaurant is busy.
🧹 Cleanliness
The hotel grounds and communal areas were very clean and well looked after, which was another positive.
One thing to be aware of, though, is the cats! 🐈 There are quite a few around the hotel and they are clearly very comfortable around guests. If you're a cat lover, you'll probably be delighted — but if you're not, be warned that they may jump onto your lap or even onto the table while you're eating!
📍 Location
The location is good.
The harbour is around a 20-minute walk, while the mall is only about 5 minutes away. The mall has a Jumbo store — basically “B&M and IKEA had a baby” 😂 — as well as a supermarket, restaurants and shops.
There are also several restaurants and shops within easy walking distance of the hotel, so you're certainly not stuck for places to go.
👍 Overall
The Damon is a nice, clean hotel in a good location, and there are definitely positives. The staff work incredibly hard, the grounds are well maintained and the availability of sunbeds after 8am was a pleasant surprise.
However, for us, the repetitive food, limited pool space, dated entertainment and lack of storage in the room were significant negatives. The initial problems with our room were also disappointing and shouldn't really have happened.
There is a Facebook group called Friends of Damon, which contains some useful information if you're considering staying here. Just be aware that, in our experience, there doesn't seem to be much appetite for negative comments about the hotel, so it's worth reading a range of reviews and making your own judgement.
Would we return? Unfortunately, no.
That doesn't mean it's a bad hotel — it simply wasn't the right hotel for us. We've stayed in quite a few hotels in Cyprus, and based on our experience, we'd choose somewhere else next time.
Overall: a nice, clean hotel with hardworking staff and a good location, but too many areas that need improvement for us to consider returning.
Just back from this hotel. We found the hotel to be clean . It’s in a fabulous location restaurants, pubs and shops nearby.
The only negative was we found the food to be quite repetitive but not really an issue as reasonably priced restaurants nearby.
We fell in love with Paphos and will definitely be returning and probably to this hotel. Staff were super friendly. Another bonus was we were allowed to keep our room on to 6pm on our departure date with a reasonable charge of 36 euros.
Had a fab time with the family here. Great location, big apartment, fantastic staff. All inclusive package was good, the food was of a good standard and mostly table service for drinks in the restaurant. The entertainment staff were great, especially Pino, who we thought was hilarious! The rooms were a little tired, but they were cleaned daily. All in all a very nice holiday in a great location. We wouldn't rule out a return.
Positives:
Location amazing
Big enough apartment
Lovely welcome from the lovely receptionist (Angelina or angelica I think)
Negatives:
Hotel just looked really run down and old fashioned, stair case to room was like a grotty car park staircase, smelt really fousty
Pool was dirty, hubby and I jokingly wrote our names in the grime around the edges then thoroughly washed our hands
One of the women in the pool bar was really abrupt and unfriendly.
Food not nice at all
Room dated, couldn't see anything from balcony.
Wouldn't come back and usually I'm not very fussy.
