On the Southwest Coast of Cyprus is the city of Paphos, the birthplace of Aphrodite - the Goddess of Love and Beauty. Here on this piece of magic land, you will find Mayfair Gardens in the town of Paphos. The Mayfair Gardens provides an excellent standard of accommodation in a friendly and relaxed environment with a range of amenities. Situated in a quiet and beautiful tourist area of Paphos, approximately 10 minutes walk from Kato Paphos harbor, 900 meters from the nearest beach, with an array of taverns, restaurants, cafe's, bars and shops within the vicinity. The Kings Avenue Shopping Mall is only 5 minutes walk away.
All guests staying at Mayfair Gardens have access to the wide range of recreational facilities available at the Mayfair Hotel.
Excellent stay, very friendly and helpful staff
This was our 2nd year in a row visiting Mayfair Gardens as a family of 4.
We have loved both stays and struggle to find any major dislikes with the hotel.
Every member of staff are delight from the reception staff, bar staff, restaurant staff, life guards, entertainment staff, cleaning staff and everyone in-between.
We arrived at 9.15pm with just 15 minutes to spare before the AI buffet closed for the evening - the reception staff quickly processed our arrival enabling us a little time to eat something in the buffet quickly before it closed. A godsend after a long day travelling.
I had emailed the hotel once we re booked requesting the same room as the previous year. We were in building 5 with a pool view and a massive balcony which we enjoyed. When we arrived we had been allocated the same room as requested with a complimentary bottle of wine/champagne that we actually didn't end up opening to welcome us back. A lovely touch from the hotel.
The rooms and the buildings they are in probably aren't the freshest but we only used them to shower, change and sleep. They are clean, the water runs, the shower is powerful and the beds are comfy.
The pools are brilliant and our youngest loved the splash pool with the slides. The lifeguards are alert and attentive.
The AI drinks are as expected - not exactly premium but they more than do the job.
The highlight of the hotel is the food. We have a fussy child but she always found at least something to eat each night and even tried some new things with a little bit of encouragement. Each night is themed that throws up some different dishes along side the everyday offerings. Some of the food was really above what you'd expect of a hotel with this star rating. The deserts are to die for and again there's always something different to try each night.
The entertainment is also good. The mini disco kept my youngest entertained, whilst the glitter tattoos and face painting were also a hit. Parrot shows, traditional Cypriot dancing, a Freddie Mercury act and a fire show provided decent entertainment all across the week.
We didn't take part in much of the daytime activities but each day there is something to do. On my last 2 mornings I played French Bowls which was good fun. The entertainment staff worked hard and genuinely looked to enjoy their work.
The location of the hotel is handy too. Not far from the bus station or King's avenue mall. The harbour is a 20 minute walk away, it also pays to try to familiarise yourself with the local bus routes. Bus 615 from the bus station takes you to Coral Bay beach as its last stop but also passes another beach Venus beach if you fancy a beach day. The buses are regular and efficient and 6.50 is the price of a day ticket - much cheaper than taxis.
A top tip from me is to ask when you are checking in on arrival for the reception staff to note down your room number for a late check out if you are travelling back late when leaving. It's not a guarantee but the day before you check out you can then ask to find out if you have be allocated a later check out at 6pm rather than 12pm on your last day. It can really make your last day all that more comfortable if you have a later flight, knowing you still have your air conditioned room until 6pm. It costs 43 euros and is worth every cent.
All in all - a 2nd fantastic holiday at Mayfair Gardens. A huge thank you to all the staff at the hotel for making it what it is.
⭐⭐⭐⭐½ 4.5/5 – Lovely Stay at Mayfair Hotel, Paphos, Cyprus 🇨🇾 We’ve had a really lovely stay at the Mayfair Hotel and overall I’d definitely rate it 4.5 out of 5. 🏨 Room: Our room was really nice, clean and comfortable, and the shower was absolutely lush! 😍 One thing to be aware of is that the rooms aren’t cleaned on Sundays, but apart from that we had no issues with cleanliness. 🛍️ Facilities: There’s a handy little mini market on site which is great for picking up drinks, snacks and other bits and pieces. ☀️ Sunbeds: Absolutely NO sunbed wars, which was a massive plus! 😂 I don’t sleep very well, so I was usually outside around 5am and was literally the only person there! It started getting a little busier around 6–6:45am, but nothing crazy and we never had any problems getting a sunbed. 🍴 Food: I’d say the food is average for an all-inclusive, but there is plenty of choice, so you can normally find something you like. The food isn't always piping hot, which could be improved, but it was manageable and certainly didn't spoil our holiday. 🎤 Entertainment: This would be the main area that I think needs some work. Unfortunately, we found the entertainment quite dull and flat compared with other all-inclusive holidays we’ve been on. The water polo and volleyball were good, but the entertainment team could definitely be more energetic and involved. When activities are happening, people and children are sometimes still in the way because there isn't really an announcement asking people to move or letting everyone know what's going on. On previous holidays we've found the entertainment teams much more energetic — announcing activities, getting everyone involved, chatting to guests and creating a bit of an atmosphere. I think Mayfair would really benefit from doing more of this, as it would make a big difference. 🇨🇾 Overall: Despite the entertainment needing improvement, we’ve had a really enjoyable stay. The hotel is clean, the rooms are lovely, there’s plenty of food choice, no crazy fight for sunbeds and we've been comfortable throughout our holiday. ⭐ Overall rating: 4.5/5 Would definitely recommend, especially if you're looking for a relaxed all-inclusive stay in Paphos. ❤️🇨🇾
Very good experience, the hotel was nice, and the staff was friendly.
Really tired and poor standard hotel. On arrival we opened the door to a cockroach running around and ants in the bathroom. Rooms are really tired and dated.
