Paphos Gardens Holiday Resort

Always try and give a review of all sides when I write something so here we go Paphos Gardens we will be back! First of all massive shout out to all the staff incredibly helpful couldn’t have done more to make our stay memorable. Particular shout out to Stelios restaurant manager he was simply brilliant greeted us every day with a smile so accommodating and helpful can’t thank him enough, our little one was poorly whilst we were away and it was very difficult to get her to eat anything. Nothing was too much trouble. He nipped into the kitchen to get her a small bowl of something to tempt her taste, the food itself albeit not a huge range All very delicious ,sometimes less is more as we have stayed at 4/5 stars before and there is just too many choices.. My only slight comment would be Meat eaters-were very satisfied,Plenty of different meat selections but sometimes slightly lacking in a choice for vegetarians and pescatarian’s.. the room itself perfectly acceptable very clean housekeeping service almost every day sheets and towels changed definitely no grumbles there, one thing to note is unlike most all inclusive you do not get a Pool/sun bed towel so make sure you bring your own we hadn’t but it wasn’t a huge problem. We nipped into town and purchased some towels but it’s just something to note you need to bring your own towels there is an on-site laundry for washing also .We had stayed here nearly 20 years ago,Not much has changed and perhaps a bit of updating would make an improvement but in the present climate I imagine it’s very difficult to invest in upgrading and just keeping a business going is probably quite tricky in itself. It is only classed as a three star and I would say it’s exactly what you would expect from a three star but well equipped with small kitchen stove, microwave utensils, plate plates, everything you would need if you chose to self cater.We were pleased with the location as it was all level which was extremely helpful as one of our party is disabled and struggles with steps. We did notice that some of the blocks did have steps so if you were booking and you needed access accessibility this may be worth mentioning in advance.,We actually stayed all inclusive this time so used the bar and restaurant.The Pool bar lady was lovely very chatty and helpful with local information. The beer was very good a nice choice of local spirits ,the all inclusive cocktails were not the best all very sweet just not my taste but thats just me.I guess my only criticism and would be there were simple things like litter blowing around on occasion And the main toilet area was a little grubby lots of dirty finger marks which could be easily rectified such a small thing it wouldn’t stop us returning but might put some people off that we will definitely be back to Pathos Gardens we felt very welcome and really enjoyed our stay. Nice place, accurately described Staff were great as was food / drinks choice, better than I expected. A few issues Aircon is old and ineffective Beds are rock hard, uncomfortable Pool hasnt enough loungers, people rising at 6am to reserve - bad Entertainment - average - poor local dancers etc Entertainment area - poor not enough seats/ tables for thosecwho want to attend

In case that sounds totally begative the pool itself is great, warm and big. We didnt go to smaller or indoor pool

We were with Jet2 and in resort check in was great

Despite the issues the staff and service made this an enjoyavle holiday

There are many positives to this resort but sadly there are a few negatives.

Location - A walk down to the harbour is a lovely 15 -20 mins. Easy to access the bus routes though we didn’t use them.

Atmosphere - on a whole it’s nice and relaxed though for the younger families it’s lacking that wow , excitement feel of being on holiday.

Rooms- We stayed in a two bed apartment . Room sizes were good. Kitchenette area seemed acceptable if doing self catering ( we did all inclusive ) , having the fridge was great for drinks , storing creams etc .. However the beds were very uncomfortable for us , very hard and lumpy. We placed the quilts down as a topper which worked a treat & added the extra pillows as one wasn’t enough for us. Furniture needs updating and the room we stayed in could do with a freshen up re the paintwork. The apartment had a lovely outdoor area with a table and chairs which was great whilst watching the world go by.

Cleanliness good , housekeepers around from 8ish until 3pm.

Rooms have air con which works well. One room had an issue but on reporting this. it was fixed in a timely manner.

Food. No complaints , a good range of dishes each night , plenty of it and it was tasty. Drinks as expected .

Both swimming pools lovely and clean.

Staff - mainly helpful but not very friendly.

If you require any information about the hotel I would email in plenty of time as I’m still waiting for a response from an email I sent well over a week in advance regarding extending checkout. Checkout is a nice 12pm but we had a late night flight and wanted to extend it further however this wasn’t possible being the height of season.
