Kontokali Bay Resort and Spa

A lovely 7 nights here! We stayed in a sea view room (626), which had a fantastic view across the bay. It was right at the end of a corridor so was lovely and quiet. However, it was down a flight of stairs with no lift - that was fine for us, but will be a consideration for anybody with mobility issues. There are only around 8 rooms down here, there are other sea view rooms with level access. The beds were super comfy, and the shower was really powerful and always hot. All the hotel staff are friendly and can’t do enough for you - a big shout out to the cleaning staff - they work so hard and are really friendly.

The breakfast was great - loads of choice. We were breakfast only, so on the 1st night we paid €40 each to do the buffet - lots of choice and nice. We also did the two speciality restaurants - both of them were brilliant - gorgeous food and pleasant staff. We also went to the restaurant next door (Bruno’s) which I recommend (book online), and also went to Taverna Kerkyra at the top of the road - nice traditional Greek food at a decent price. We also got a taxi to the marina (€20) and went to Olympus Mare to see the sun set which was excellent.

The pool area is lovely, but there’s the usual problem of people reserving sun beds and not actually using them! Suggestion is to control this better. Also, some of the “deck chairs” around the gardens could be replaced with more sun beds.

We also saw people taking multiple beach towels - like 4 per person in some cases! The poor pool staff were forever replacing them. This must go against the hotel’s environmental policy (washing), so the hotel needs to implement a 1 towel per person rule. You get a ticket to swap for one towel.

Another small improvement the hotel could make - additional Dumbells in the gym - they jump from 8kg to 15kg.

In summary - a fantastic hotel, clean and comfy, lovely staff, brilliant food. I’d definitely come back asap!

We have just returned from a 2 week stay at the Kontokali Bay Resort and it really was beautiful, customer service here was incredible all the staff are very polite & helpful and I must include our housekeeper Attimis in this review because she was so hard working and greeted us with a huge smile and a kind word every morning. The hotel has 5 different locations where you can relax and soak up the sun - the pool area, 2 private beaches, the decking area plus a decking strip on the seafront all with plenty of comfy sunbeds, tables and parasols. Breakfast was set out really nicely with lots of different foods to try all of which was delicious. The hotel provided a free bus into Corfu town at 9.30am and returns at 1.30pm which I highly recommend as Corfu town is a delight to visit with loads of shops, bars and restaurants. There was various evening entertainment in the hotel throughout our stay which was good we did feel that drinks in the bar were a little expensive however the bar service was great, we had a wonderful holiday so if your looking for peace & tranquility with a beautiful beach and pool area and great service throughout this is the place to stay.
