Caramel a resort to live- the material dreams are made of
If you are looking for a flawless luxury vacation that feels both high-end and deeply welcoming, Caramel by Grecotel is absolute perfection. We stayed here as a family with a young child and a baby, and we were blown away by how wonderful everything was. The property is stunningly beautiful and completely pristine—it genuinely feels like stepping right into a luxury design magazine. Every corner is beautifully landscaped and perfectly kept. What truly stole our hearts was the incredible staff. Their warmth and attentiveness represent the absolute best of European hospitality. They were so kind , welcoming and helpful with our little ones, making us feel completely pampered and relaxed from day one. The food is another absolute highlight. As foodies, our expectations were high, but the culinary experience completely blew us away. Every single meal was a spectacular work of art, elevated to absolute perfection. We had an unforgettable stay at Caramel and can’t wait to come back to our new favorite home away from home!
We Fell in Love With This Place
We have stayed in many beautiful five-star hotels and resorts around the world, but every once in a while you find a hotel that you simply fall in love with. Caramel was one of those places for us.
From the moment we arrived, we felt genuinely welcome. Not just the usual polite five-star service, but something much warmer and more personal. Everyone we met seemed to truly care that we were happy and enjoying our stay.
We travelled with our two young children, a four-year-old and a baby, and the way the staff treated us as a family was wonderful. They were patient, kind and always ready to help. Nothing ever felt like too much trouble.
And then there is the beauty of the place itself. Caramel is absolutely stunning. Walking through the gardens, past the beautiful buildings and towards the pool and the sea, there are moments when it honestly feels like a scene from a movie. The flowers, colors, little paths and architecture create an atmosphere that photos simply don’t capture. It is even more beautiful in real life.
The entire resort is incredibly clean and beautifully maintained, and our accommodation was spotless throughout our stay.
The food was another highlight. Breakfast had a huge selection of fresh, high-quality food, and dinner was something we genuinely looked forward to every evening. The quality, variety and presentation were consistently excellent.
But what really makes Caramel special is the people. You never feel like just another guest or a room number. People remember you, notice the little things and make you feel that they genuinely want you to be there. And that feeling is consistent everywhere — reception, housekeeping, the restaurant and around the pool.
When you travel often, you realise that real luxury isn’t only about beautiful rooms and impressive facilities. It is about feeling relaxed, welcome and genuinely looked after.
Caramel gave us exactly that.
We came expecting a great five-star resort and ended up falling in love with the place. Before we had even left, we were already talking about when we could come back.
Beautiful surroundings, wonderful food, impeccable cleanliness and, above all, an exceptional team of people who made our family feel completely at home.
Thank you to everyone at Caramel for making our holiday so special.
We will absolutely be back.
Exceptional hospitality from start to finish
We had the most wonderful stay at Caramel and genuinely loved every minute of it.
From the moment we arrived until the moment we checked out, the staff were absolutely fantastic. Everyone we met was so warm, friendly and attentive, and you could really feel that they genuinely wanted us to have the best possible stay.
We were there to celebrate my 40th birthday, and they went above and beyond to make it special. We were incredibly surprised by a room upgrade that was far beyond anything we could have imagined, and there were so many thoughtful little touches throughout our stay. I honestly couldn’t have asked for a better place to celebrate.
The hotel itself is beautiful, relaxed and absolutely spotless. The food was amazing, and we looked forward to every breakfast and dinner. Our children loved it just as much as we did, especially the beautiful pool and being able to go straight down to the beach.
But what we will remember most is the people. The warmth and kindness of the staff really made this place special for us. We felt so welcome and so well taken care of from beginning to end.
We are leaving Caramel with such happy memories and already wishing we could go back. Thank you so much to the entire team for making our family holiday and my 40th birthday one we will never forget. ❤️
Disappointing for that cost.
Disappointing for us personally, I realise we appear to be in the minority here. We found the place to be good enough in the main, but nothing particularly commendable other than the lovely staff. The grounds are pleasant, the food pleasant, pool pleasant, but nothing to write home about. However, for this amount of money, we weren't expecting this amount of noise. I'm referring to the main building where we stayed, the section surrounding the inner courtyard. They noise is completely unacceptable. You can hear every sound from outside the room. Babies crying, kids shouting, doors slamming (that was possibly the worst). Trolleys being dragged over tiles in the courtyard, people walking around on the floor above. It all stopped around midnight, I suppose because everybody had finally got into bed. This is an expensive place which needs to invest some money in soundproofing measures in this block. They should start by fitting some sort of sound damper mechanism on doors, that alone would at least solve the biggest annoyance. I would not recommend this place to my friends due to the noise. If you're going there, you'd be probably better paying even more and staying in a room closer to the sea.

Caramel, Crete. - a delightful boutique hotel gem.
We have just returned home thoroughly relaxed after a 10 day stay at Caramel. From the warm welcome at reception on our arrival, we found all the staff friendly, courteous and efficient throughout our visit. They were outstanding! The hotel is well maintained and spotless, the food varied and delicious and besides the well equipped gym, there are daily yoga and Pilates classes. In fact, the hotel ticked all the boxes and we will undoubtedly be returning.
