Wonderful time at Thalassa Beach Resort
Just back from a week at this lovely hotel. It really is a special place. All the Staff are so friendly and welcoming. The hotel and rooms are spotlessly clean and the food is amazing. The beach is carefully tended to remove litter and the sea fabulous to swim in. There are so many little touches that are added to make it a great place to stay. We stayed half board and the variety and quality of the food was really exceptional making it a superb dining choice. Chef Christos puts his heart and soul into his cooking and we loved having the cookery lessons with him. The hotel is in a great location for everyone’s needs and I can honestly say we had the best ever holiday and can 100 per cent recommend this hotel. Al, the staff you meet have a smile for you and go that extra mile to help you and look after you. Well done Thalassa Beach Resort you are certainly special.
Excellent Hotel and Staff
Just back from an amazing 9 days at Thalassa Beach hotel. Very friendly staff who will help you all they can. Hotel is in a great location, right on the beach, close to shops and places to eat. Our room was spacious enough, large beds, plenty of towels and always clean. Our room (111) was at the bottom and the view was of a big palm tree and not much else....but this wasn't a problem for us as we didn't spend much time in the room. Less than a minute from our room and we were on the beach, which is stoney in places, but we read reviews and took swim shoes - highly recommended as we had no issues. Plenty of sunbeds by the beach and pool...and waiter service to bring you your drinks while you sit by the sea is always a bonus! Out of the hotel and to the left are some lovely places to eat, especially Arhondiko Taverna, Rustic Garden (both which were easy to book a table via messenger), both of which had stunning surroundings and amazing food. We also loved Erontas Mezebar right by the hotel, very friendly family run place, and if you drink spirits be careful as they fill the glass nearly to the top!! To the right of the hotel are more places to eat but more lively bars - we loved Rock and Rose bar. Amazing cocktails, some very unusual, and we would always be given a free cocktail which is nice! We ate in the hotel one night and the food was amazing, and lots of it... worth trying, and a great location over the sea. Breakfast has everything you could wish for. Bus to Chania centre is very easy, but can be busy. We ate at Tholos restaurant which was amazing and stunningly beautiful. We took a 4.5hr boat trip with Manos Cruises (38 euro each), which was great, with plenty of swimming. We got a taxi back to the hotel, 20 euro (even though it was 1am!). Loved the Thalassa Beach hotel - would go back without question, as many people seem to do!

Great hotel, super holiday.
We had a wonderful 11 night stay. The hotel is spotlessly clean, bar and pool area really lovely and staff very friendly. The adult nature of it feels really peaceful which is what we were after.
There are plenty of lunch and dinners spots within walking distance, we ate very well!
We had requested a twin room for one of the rooms but ended up with a double which was disappointing at the start, however we were moved to one as soon as it came available. I only write this as perhaps it’s worth sending the hotel a message before your stay just to check.
We would happily return and recommend.
Fantastic hotel with all you need !
Superb Hotel , lovely room with upstairs bedroom - aircon excellent as it was 37-40 degrees - view not great but balcony decent to chill late on with music & a beer. Pool area class and a superb swim up bar where the staff are fantastic especially Manos the nicest man you could ever meet - cocktails cheap as happy hr after 6pm. Reasonably priced luncheon food , we didn’t eat at the main restaurant as €38 for buffet not for our tastes / they should offer normal menu too. Plenty of beds available around pool / beach area - if you walk 1/4 of a mile the beach is tremendous and sandy we did that most days. Restaurants aplenty left or right but the best ones are across the road and up the hill - all excellent and well priced. Chania town is mentally busy but worth a visit by cab €20 bit of a Queue getting back but deffo worth a visit. 99% of the staff are friendly and rooms cleaned daily We will return sooner rather than later!

Nice hotel
On arrival we received a standard welcome and were shown to our room which should have been a garden view. Room was spotless but the view was of a car park with overflowing industrial bins. We did not let this bother us as we don’t usually spend much time in the room, only for an hour am & pm. Not a garden view though.
Pool and pool bar nice. Beach not to our liking. Gardens need maintaining. Grass was very long needed cutting. Weeds growing through the decking around lounge beds. Looked very neglected. It remained like this for the full duration of our stay. Sun loungers comfy and you could find one any time of the day. No need to reserve.
Breakfast - usual offerings provided, repeated daily. No variety. Sparkling wine offered not Prosecco.
We ate at the pool bar on one occasion. Average food. Large portions. Did not eat at hotel in evening as it is overpriced for a buffet menu. Reminded us of an all inclusive.
Around the pool some days it was not cleaned. There was a dirty plaster on the floor around the steps to the pool which remained there for 3 days. People are allowed to smoke whilst sat at the pool bar both in and out of the water. One guy was even sat on the edge of the pool smoking cigars. I’m surprised the hotel allow this. One evening we went down to enjoy a cocktail at almost 9pm to be greeted by a group of drunk men still sat in the pool at the bar drinking shots and smoking. Fair to say we left immediately. The pool is supposed to be closed by this time as per info provided in rooms regarding opening times of facilities.
Hotel room kept clean most days. We did request bedding changed on one occasion using the card you leave on the bed to request this. This was ignored and bedding not changed.
Lovely token of a bottle of sparkling wine left for my birthday. Nice touch and for the hotel to recognise the special occasion.
Location of hotel central for both Agia Marina and Platanius.
Entertainment is very minimal in the evening only a couple of days a week.
Gym we did not use. This does not open until 8am. This is far too late for early risers who like to work out early morning before starting the day. Several guests also commented on this and expressed their disappointment. We requested to use the gym earlier and were told no due to rules and time needed to complete cleaning which we accepted. However due to this we would not likely return to the hotel.
Received a massage which was nice. The spa girls also come around during the day offering reduced spa treatments which was very popular.
Nice hotel however after reading reviews was not quite as special as we had hoped for especially in comparison to other places we have stayed in Greece. But everyone has different opinions, likes, preferences.
