Could be a fantastic hotel if drinks at bar and food improved
First time at koni village, the room we had was up two flights of steps but the sea view was beautiful , it needs a hand rail on one side of the steps , the room was spacious and cleaned regularly , towels changed every 2 days , no tea making facilities in room so we bought a kettle, on our arrival we checked in and were shown where room was it was up a very steep slope but a lovely young male member of staff offered help and took both our cases up the slope and carried them both up the 2 flights of steps , we were so relieved as I don’t know how we would have managed , on departure I called reception and asked for help with cases down the steps , a member of staff arrived promptly and took them all the way to the luggage room for us , it’s the food and drink that let this hotel down , the barman during the day isn’t very friendly , the choice of drinks limited and the alcohol content questionable if any in at all ! , never had bar snacks as bad , not covered either from flies , food in restaurant poor selection and very repetitive , not even a toaster at breakfast , and food never hot , this spoils what could be a great hotel also entertainment non existent and walk in steps at main pool lethal

Disgusting food alcohol free drinks
We stopped for a week at koni village just my self and a friend the rooms were clean staff were friendly but the pool was dirty and full of sun cream never cleaned while I was there I slip and fell on the pool steps and hurt my self all the food was disgusting now I am not fussy I will always find something to eat but that was disgusting I would not feed my dog it also the drinks I would say were alcohol free not good at all no ice creams for kids only snacks in a afternoon were curled up dry sandwiches and hard sausage rolls if u can call them that the chefs need the sack it is also on a very big hill but we new that we will never book this hotel again
Koni hotel stalis
The koni village hotel is situated close to everything,a couple of minutes walk is the town of stalis,shops, restaurants,the beach everything you need,Malia is close as well,and heraklion,the main town is near,I use to catch the bus there,the bus stop literally outside the hotel. The hotel has 2 swimming pools,one a bit quieter than the other,food was lovely,room was cleaned nearly everyday,the only downside I encountered was the very steep ramp going to the apartments,was really hot/humid when I went, early August,so found that very difficult in the heat 🥵🥵🥵 apart from that,I had an amazing time.

No consideration for disabilies.
Okay, so the location itself was very steep and definately not advised if you have walking difficulties, I arrived on crutches to be told we were at the top of the mountain, the views indeed were beautiful however my husband asked twice at reception about changing rooms to a lower level and were told to come back next day! Have given up asking. We stay down all day and go up early as it takes a slow and steady walk.up many steps with rests.
Cleanliness personally not great, lipstick stained pillow and was just put underneath new and not changed.
Food is awful, not marked up, only good thing is chips, the staff were adorable however.
Cocktails are awful, coffee was good.
Overall experience would not go back i am.sad to say, pictures nothing like the hotel at all!.

We have just spent 10 days at Koni Village. We were worried after seeing the reviews but there was no need.
Location - 10 min walk to the beach, shops, bars and restaurants. The hotel is built on a hill but we didn’t find this a problem and we were aware of this when we booked.
Atmosphere - Koni Village is nice and chilled. No sun bed wars here and it was nice not to have to wake up early for a good spot by the pool. Quiet around the pool, no back ground music but again, this wasn’t an issue. The whole area is clean and all the staff are friendly. Minimal evening entertainment but we just took a stroll into town where there is plenty going on.
Food - the biggy that we were worried about! We ate every meal at Koni. As a party of 9, including a 4 year old and 3 fussy teenagers, I can assure you no one went hungry, There was always chips, bread, pasta and salad on offer as well as a good variety of different foods to try. Not a huge selection but the choice was appropriate to the size of the hotel. At breakfast there is bacon, eggs (fried, boiled or scrambled) beans and sausages as well as fruit, cheese, yogurt etc. There were fresh pancakes every other day, There is no toaster at the moment as it caught on fire and they are waiting for a new one but the chef was happy to put some bread on the grill for us.
Rooms - absolutely adequate. Clean towels each day.
I’m not sure what people expect for a 3 star booking. Koni is chilled and quiet but our families enjoyed it and we would consider returning.
