Elounda Akti Olous

We stayed here for 10 nights via jet 2. I booked it as it was accessible, so lifts, car parking etc. location, looked good.

We arrived far too late at night, silly jet two flight times. but Yannis was very welcoming and helped with beers. I also requested a room near the lift and so pleased they kindly provided this and we received a side view although the villa side so restricted view. (I bet the view was amazing before that bloody villa was built!).

First impression of the room was good, clean tidy and a good size, I hate glass bathroom doors but that's just me. No charge for aircon which I like, feels like money pinching when places do that. Balcony is small but lovely enough to use. Mini fridge, all good.

Breakfast was good, different cakes everyday was nice we had Breakfast here most days. Love the orange juicer for sure, will miss that!

Location is good, Elounda is nice but it's goes to sleep far too early for Greece!

Cons.

• Staff start early and strangely seem to talk at the top of the voices and if you have balcony open you will be woken early, but I think we lucked out too as 'the barking dog' wasn't too much of an issue. Staff also aren't overly friendly at breakfast, even if you try to talk they will just ignore you, feel a a bit of an unhappy place at times, perhaps just been a long season though.

• car parking is free and private but it's busy so getting a spot maybe hard at times also the ramp is dreadful and we grounded the car each time using it, leading to a bit of a worry and we did spot the staff restricting park on the public road near the hotel, so having accessibility issues, means hope the hire car companies dont spot it!

-Skybar was good although the disco was dreadful, 70s English tacky music, dreadful and not fitting with expectations of this hotel. To be fair it's catering for the average clientelle which seems to be ageing English folks, the weird football t-shirt wearing crowd. I choose this hotel expecting to get away from this and have a bit more class but I can agree that it does seem to have a lot of repeat customers but the hotel seems focused on catering for these. I hoped for nice live music perhaps, maybe still do this poxy disco night, drop the football on the TV (as we would avoid bars with this on so thus you are telling on certain people to visit the bar) then have other live music nights. -pool area, still saw reserved beds, I can't help but think this is the repeat clientelle who I suspect the staff don't want to confront.

It certainly looks a nice hotel, some friendly staff but feels to cater for a narrow market.

Hotel is beautiful and all areas very clean . Breakfast was varied & plentiful. Staff were professional and friendly enough but after reading reviews I was a little disappointed that they were not more engaging mostly only spoke if we spoke first , however there was a young guy think his name is Kleo ? That always had a lovely smile and a friendly chat with us he is an absolute credit tothe hotel .. put him in charge of customer service training!! . Rooms are really clean and cleaning staff are wonderful.. regarding storage although limited regarding drawers there was an ottoman that we utilised which solved the problem. There is a severe shortage of sun beds but this is mostly down to inconsiderate people hogging them 7.30 am onwards and on the sky bar there were 2 wonderful rocking chairs which unfortunately we didn’t get to enjoy as 2 particular guest seemed to think they had sole ownership and were in them all day every day however this is not the fault of the hotel it’s just the usual selfish few who spoil it .. We used the Alikes pool bar a few doors away and we were welcomed by the great staff there , drinks and food very reasonable. The hotel is in the most wonderful location and despite the few niggles I would book again and recommend to family and friends .

Perfect stay once again at this great hotel, immaculate throughout, excellent staff, perfect location. Worth the upgrade for a perfect view. We will be back again ❤️
