Hotel Heronissos

We arrived late so got upgraded to a superior room for the night and told to go back to reception to change rooms the next day. Superior room had no balcony and tiny bathroom with broken shower. We then got told we either pay €100 to upgrade to a room in Heronissos hotel or stay in the standard room we booked to which I agreed to have the room I originally booked we then got moved into Cleopatra apartments which is up the road and round the corner which can only be described as a rundown 1* hostel building!!! We were put in a self catering apartment when we booked to stay in a standard room through TUI. The shower had mould on the walls, the curtains were filthy, and bedding and towels weren’t changed all week!! The room had no TV or phone, which according to TUI that’s what the room was meant to have. It had a balcony that over looked a small pool that looked dirty and had loose tiles around it so looked dangerous!! The main hotel offered 3 pre mixed cocktails which were disgusting!! The spirits were also pre mixed and didn’t tasty much better either! The food was mostly the same every day, it was cold and mostly not edible because I don’t want food poisoning! There is also no food allergy signes anywhere!!! The sun lounges were a piece of plastic and very uncomfortable! They were dirty and sometimes broken and that’s if you can get one because it’s so busy there!! Overall it’s not a 4* hotel, the accommodation we received was not even 2* standard, the food was disgusting, the drinks were also disgusting, there was also no entertainment or activities throughout the day time! I am currently fighting to get some sort of compensation from TUI for the service I have received.

On arrival we were informed our room would be offsite as we had booked a standard room, this is not something advertised, we were offered to upgrade to a room onsite for 20 euros a night in cash extra for which we accepted and paid. Location is good and had peaceful night sleeps each night. Onsite food is very limited, cold and they do not provide snacks around pool. Drinks are just awful, Juice is like undiluted cordial and spirits like pain stripper , beer is watered down. Entertainment- 2 nights in a week we had Entertainment onsite which was good Witness bar man engage in a shouting match with a customer. Around pool are the most uncomfortable sun loungers, no toilets near the bar , means people using the pool have to go in to the hotel up near reception if they need the toilet. Only 2 female and 2 male toilets onsite aswell for all guests. Appreciate the saying you get what you pay for.

Everything was simply wonderful. The hotel was beautiful, spotless and perfectly located. The food was outstanding, with great variety and quality, while the staff were exceptionally friendly and welcoming.
