A true Cretan hidden gem – we didn't want to leave!
Village Heights Resort is an absolute best-kept secret. Set in the quiet hills above Hersonissos, the resort itself is stunningly beautiful, but what truly sets it apart is the exceptional level of care. Customer service across the entire property is fantastic, though a few people made our stay truly unforgettable: a special mention to Vasilis and George at Citrus/Kafenio, John at the Lobby Bar, and especially Stratos—who seemed to be everywhere at once making sure everyone was taken care of! We traveled as a group of four with two teenagers, and the food exceeded all our expectations. While everyone enjoyed the main buffet (the lamb chops are incredible!), we were unanimous that the à la carte lunch options—which vary slightly across the resort—were the absolute highlight of our trip. In fact, we found ourselves rushing back from day trips just to make last orders (5:00 PM at the Citrus Bar) for lunch, then opting for a much smaller, late dinner afterward. We also ate at both of the à la carte evening restaurants, which were delicious, and had the traditional Cretan breakfast twice because it was simply too good to pass up. We absolutely loved our time here and were genuinely sad to pack our bags. We’re already counting down until we can return! We were All Inclusive in a VERY spacious and well appointed one bedroom apartment.

Such an amazing experience
The spa is amazing, I usually hate massage but jasmine was so amazing that i really enjoyed it! Wow the experience was so amazing.. I recommend everyone staying at village height resort to try the spa and relax for real

On top of a hill with free shuttle to some places. Excellent service. If you go to beach Comber you pay the resort 35€ for two sunbeds and umbrella. But DONT do that because you can get them for half the price once you are in Stalis beach. Just tell the shuttle driver you are going to beachcomber beach bar which is in Stalis beach, the last stop after Hersonissos town centre. Reception did not inform us this. They just promoted beach Comber beach bar (and not Stalis beach) and pay €35, but we cancelled the sunbeds and got them somewhere else. Ask sunbed prices once arrived and compare prices. Reception informed us beachcomber was fully booked and missed a day. They didn't tell us that we can actually hire other sunbeds anywhere in Stalis beach. Daily activities except Sundays. Has mini market open til late. Ants can be a problem. Stayed 12 days. Daily cleaning. Yoga, Pilates, aqua Zumba, kids activities, tennis but no basketball court:(. My son went to town to play basketball :(.. Pay €15 per unit per night for tourist tax . €20 taxi from town to resort. They gave free bottle of wine and nuts on arrival in the room. Cretan dancing and live music on some nights .€45 to the airport, book via reception. Hire an AUTOMATIC car to explore the mountainous island. Hire via resort, NOT from the town centre because they were not truthful. When we went to collect the car, they increased the price so we cancelled. Hire in advance via resort which will work out cheaper if you intend to explore the whole island. Eat at Ellis taverna in town, home cooked Cretan food, infront of medical centre. Eat Gyros in town centre. Explore villages up in the mountain. Open air market in Agios Nikolaos every Wednesday til 1 PM. Local farmers sell olive oils at v good prices, also dried herbs, a lot cheaper there. Fruits and veg at €1 per kilo! Chania is a MUST see! Buy souvenirs from M&M shop, 6 Sanoudaki St. in Hersonissos town centre. They have the best value but very good quality! Example Cretan mugs is less than €3 compared to €6 in other shops! The owners and workers are friendly. Koutouloufari is my favourite village especially at night.
