Family-friendly resort on the coast of Crete. Overlooking the Sea of Crete, our resort sits along the north coast just 15 minutes from Rethymno City. Stroll through preserved medieval streets or visit nearby Melidoni Cave for incredible sights. Enjoy the sparkling private beach just across the road, revive your senses at our spa, and enjoy unique culinary workshops and pop-up dinners. Our seven restaurants and bars highlight the flavors of Crete, from grandmother’s recipes to pop-up concepts from local makers. Choose a wine from our expansive cellar, and enjoy a meal with a view at CRETAMOS.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
Lovely hotel, amazing staff, food was excellent. It has everything you need really, not overcrowded, stunning views and wonderful weather! The staff were brilliant and looked after us completely. Made my family feel very welcome and we had a wonderful holiday.
We booked what was marketed as a premium stay at the Royal Senses, but from check-in onwards it fell short. We arrived late, there was no food available, and the check-in was very poor. We weren’t given any proper overview of the hotel or where anything was. When we got to the room, the only refreshment was some warm fruit. Not exactly welcoming after travelling so late. The room itself had several issues: broken curtain rail, TV problems, shower controls & light switches installed backwards, noisy appliances, and the third bed was just a sofa with a bed sheet. All storage was jammed with spare cushions from the sofa, so we had barely any storage for three people. We reported everything straight away, but had to chase repeatedly. Communication at reception was difficult at times, which just added to the frustration. When we finally spoke to guest relations after days of waiting, the- only thing they offered was a bottle of wine, and when we said, we don’t drink alcohol, they suggested juice instead. That was really not an adequate response. Housekeeping and breakfast staff were excellent, but the overall room standard and how our complaints were handled just didn’t match the premium positioning at all. There is a single funicular/lift for the entire hotel as its built on a hill and its a single point of frustration for everyone. Two stars because of the staff who tried, but overall a real disappointment.
We stayed at The Royal Sense Resort in August with our wife and son and had a fantastic family holiday.
The resort is beautiful, the facilities are excellent, and the food was very good. The highlight of our stay was the amazing staff, especially the teams at breakfast and the half-board dinner service. Everyone was welcoming, friendly, attentive, and always made us feel at home.
Their genuine hospitality made our holiday even more enjoyable. We highly recommend this resort and would be delighted to return.
I had the one of the best experiences of my life, hotel is amazing staff is amazing and take care of your needs personally shoutout to Elina the girl that took care of us! I will definetly be coming back
We had the most wonderful stay at Royal Senses. It's an absolutely stunning hotel with excellent attention to detail throughout, and while it's very much a family resort, it never feels crowded or busy, genuinely peaceful the whole way through.
Every room has a sea view, and the room decor is honestly the best we've ever seen. The food was exceptional, service was excellent, and the spa is stunning.
The kids club is fantastic too, which made it perfect for us as a family. The location is brilliant for exploring- panormos village is close by and wonderful for traditional food, and we loved the beautiful trips to nearby beaches around 10-15 minutes away (I believe it was Evita Bay). We also really enjoyed visiting Margarites village and the nearby monastery.
Honestly, nothing to fault at all. We'd return in a heartbeat.
