We have just returned from a lovely week on Kefalonia, staying in the wonderful small and friendly hotel Paspalis in Skala. We enjoyed the hotel immensely, restaurant served fantastic food, the bar right nexted to the pool was lovely. Location was perfect, across the road to the beach and a 10 minute walk into the small town which was full of fantastic tavernas and shops. Our main praise for the Paspalis hotel is reserved for the staff who are all very hard working and super friendly
We recently visited the Paspalis Hotel, our first visit to Kefalonia. This would have been a 5 review, but the room was on the small side and did not have a wardrobe. The hanging rail would have been OK but there was not enough space for a longer length dress to hang freely. However, the view from the balcony was probably one of the best so this was a plus.
Staff were very friendly. Rooms were cleaned daily. Breakfast was good with a selection of hot/cold to choose from. We ate in the snack bar during our stay, food was very good and service was always with a smile. Good selection of drinks.
Never a problem getting a sun lounger by the pool, but the beach is across from the hotel if you prefer.
The location is good, just a short 10 minute stroll to the centre. We would return.
Got back a few days ago from a really great two week break at this laid back family hotel. The owners and their Son are always around and vibe is very friendly.
Perfectly positioned on the sea front with easy access to the shingle beach. The hotel has their own beds/parasols on the beach with a daily charge of €12/day for a pair of beds. The sea is beautiful albeit it gets deep relatively quickly so take care.
The main town is a short ten minute stroll with numerous good tavernas to choose from and the food quality is really good across all the tavernas.
The seafront has a road which is quiet and operates a local bus service which we used to get to Poros (€3 each) and Argostoli (€5 each) if you want a day drip out. Right next to the hotel there are cruise boats operating which go to various places. We didn't use but they looked very popular.
The hotel rooms were good, we upgraded our room with Jet2 to an upper floor. If you book independently, there are various different room styles. The rooms were cleaned daily with towel and bedding changes. Most had walk in showers, tea making facilities. I suggest packing a bit of tea and coffee as it isn’t replenished. The balconies are a good size with a table and chairs.
Breakfast in my opinion was good with lots of choice. There was continental selection with fruit, pastries etc. and hot food with scrambled eggs, sausage and warm ham not bacon which I really liked. I had poached eggs every day but you need to ask for them. Omelettes and fried eggs are also available on request.
We first met the Member of staff, Chrissa, at breakfast when she cleared our plates. She is an amazing member of the team and covers the pool bar during the day. She was really hard working and always smiling. The hotel has a great asset in her.
The hotel has its own taverna where you eat breakfast and during the evening serves great food. The pool bar is adjacent and their snacks are also great and both the food and drinks are good value for money. Try the draught cider, yummy and refreshing.
The hotel has lots of repeat customers which speaks volumes and we will be back for sure. The hotel and resort are truly exceptional.
Amazing staff clean looked after room ( every day). Food amazing ( it is a Taverna open to the public) we never wanted to eat anywhere else. Food superb fresh and soo tasty looks out onto the beach. Definitely come back…..
Just come back from another fantastic stay at Paspalis. Cannot fault this hotel in any way which is why we keep coming back. The staff are amazing and work so hard. Special mention to Chrissa who always has a smile on her face from 7 in the morning until she leaves at 5. She is there to welcome you at breakfast and serves in all day in the bar/cafe. Also a mention to Charlotte behind reception who is so helpful and welcoming. The cleaning staff are also so enthusiastic and do everything with a smile.
Our bedroom on the first floor at the back had a sea and pool view. Lovely walk in shower and excellent air con.
Pool area fantastic with sea views. Lots of sunbeds whatever time you went down.
We tried lots of different restaurants in the village, all superb. We also hired a car and went to Argostoli in the bus.
We will be back again to our second home!
