Atlantica Mikri Poli Kos

We had a fantastic stay at this hotel and enjoyed it so much that we decided to extend our holiday! Both the children and adults had a wonderful time. The hotel facilities were excellent, the food was really enjoyable, and there was a great atmosphere throughout our stay.

As we extended our stay, we were very kindly upgraded to a swim-up room, which was absolutely fantastic and made our holiday even more special. The children especially loved having direct access to the pool, and it was such a lovely way to relax and enjoy our extra time at the hotel.

I would also like to give a special mention to the manager, Konstantinos Gasparis, who was extremely helpful and professional. We had an issue during our stay which he resolved promptly and efficiently. He genuinely listened, took the matter seriously and made sure it was dealt with, which we really appreciated.

Overall, we had a brilliant holiday and would happily return. The combination of great facilities, enjoyable food, lovely accommodation and friendly, helpful staff made this a really memorable stay. Thank you to the whole team, and especially Konstantinos, for making our extended stay so enjoyable!

We’ve just returned as a family of 4 with a 11 and 13 year old. We loved our holiday, and would definitely return!

Hotel - clean and well maintained, friendly and helpful staff. It is very hilly! This wasn’t an issue for us but may be a problem if you have limited mobility. However, the hotel does have free electric golf buggies available. Only took us 10 minutes on the coach transfer from the airport.

Food - the main restaurant is pretty average food wise, not amazing but not terrible. I had read some reviews about chicken not being cooked properly but we never experienced any undercooked food. Not a lot of choice but what we had was nice. Trays of food were constantly being refreshed so we’re always fresh and hot. We usually went for it opening at 6.30pm and always got a table straight away. One evening we went later and had to wait for a table, but no more than 10 minutes. There was always something available for our fussy eater.

Snack bar - really handy, served pizza, pasta, hot dogs, sandwiches, toasters, desserts, fruit and ice cream.

Gyros van - again, really handy and you can customise what fillings/sauces you have.

Themed restaurants - we did the Italian twice (best one in our opinion, would definitely recommend this one!), the Chinese once, and the Greek taverna once. All were lovely and a nice change from the main restaurant.

Rooms - clean and comfortable. Beds and pillows were comfortable. Cleaned daily. There’s a fridge with a large bottle of water on arrival, this doesn’t get restocked but it was handy to keep our own bottles of water in. There’s a free safe in the room. Plenty of plug sockets. The only small issue I had with the room was that they’re not very sound proof. Wasn’t a huge problem for us, but the doors and walls didn’t do a very good job of blocking noise as people were walking past or going into their rooms at the end of the night.

Location - right on the beach with only a small quiet road to cross to access it. The beach was lovely but quite pebbly/rocky so definitely take water shoes. Also, definitely take a snorkel, there’s so many fish to see! 10-15 minute walk along the coast into Kardemena. Kardemena is a lovely town, plenty of shops and restaurants/bars. We ate out at Loustros restaurant, I would 100% recommend! Food was fresh and delicious, and they were able to accommodate our fussy eater. We also had drinks at cocktails and dreams, lovely little bar. Food and drinks are very reasonably priced.

Activities - Lots going on around the hotel for kids. I would recommend downloading the holiday village app to see all of the activities available. My kids loved bing bong bingo, and poolside PTY each day. We booked onto the high ropes one day which they enjoyed.

Entertainment - the entertainment team are amazing and work so hard all day every day! There’s the usual entertainment each night at the amphitheater, as well as bingo, magic show etc on certain nights in the lobby bar.

Pools - plenty of pools to choose from, including the slides. Pool temperatures are cool and refreshing but not too cold. The hotel provides beach towels, available from the spa. Pools are clean and well maintained. You’re not allowed to reserve sun-beds before 10am which was a huge bonus for us as we could go down after breakfast and there still be loads of sun beds available. The security guard goes around each morning and removes towels from unoccupied beds. I think this is a great idea, well done mikri poli!

We booked a boat trip through Tui and really enjoyed it. It took about 2.5 hours with 3 stops including bubble beach.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time here!
