Porto Bello Beach

The entertainment at this hotel was amazing, daisys aguagym today really made me feel great after completing it. She was always very friendly and helping me out when I needed any thing. The food was sensational and the location was perfect for me as the pool,beach and water park were all very close, this made it a very relaxing holiday.

We had such a fantastic stay at Porto Bello Beach in Kos and honestly couldn’t have asked for a better holiday. From the moment we arrived, the whole experience was made even better by the amazing staff, the great facilities and the fantastic atmosphere throughout the resort.

A special mention has to go to Lily at the Kids Club. She was absolutely brilliant at her job and was so friendly, enthusiastic and welcoming. She did a fantastic job keeping the children entertained and involved in all the activities, and you could really see how much effort she put into making sure everyone was having a great time. She is a real credit to the resort.

We also want to give a huge shout-out to Ruud, Daisy and Ruby for all the activities and the way they interacted with guests. They were always friendly, approachable and full of energy, and they really helped create such a fun and welcoming atmosphere around the resort.

Another special mention has to go to Miki, who was incredibly friendly and welcoming throughout our stay. He always made us feel comfortable and welcomed, and his positive attitude really added to our experience.

The facilities at Porto Bello Beach were also fantastic. There was plenty to do, everything was well maintained, and the resort had a great range of facilities to keep everyone entertained. Whether relaxing by the pool, taking part in activities or enjoying the beach, there was always something to enjoy.

Overall, we had an amazing stay and made some great memories. The staff genuinely make this place special, and Lily, Ruud, Daisy, Ruby and Miki deserve a lot of recognition for the effort they put into making guests feel welcome and making the holiday so enjoyable.

We would definitely recommend Porto Bello Beach and would love to come back in the future. Thank you to everyone for making our stay so memorable!

We are a family of four with two young children (2.5 and 4.5 years old) , and We spent a wonderful week at Porto Bello Beach Hotel and overall had a lovely holiday. This is my honest personal experience, including both the positives and areas that could be improved.

Arrival & room

We arrived around 2am with two sleepy children. Unfortunately, nobody was available to show us to our room, so we had to find it ourselves. The room was clean on arrival and there were sandwiches, an apple and water waiting for us.

The room was spacious enough for our family of four, with plenty of sleeping space for everyone to be comfortable. The room was cleaned daily and towels were replaced, although the cleaning could have been better. The shower area was sometimes dirty and sand was not always removed. Our bed linen was not changed during the week. We also had some issues with ants, which we reported to reception.

We had a beautiful sea view, which was definitely a highlight. However, there was wastewater running just outside our terrace and quite a few wasps. The room was also not very well insulated from noise, and we were often woken by people talking outside or furniture being moved in neighbouring rooms.

The bed was comfortable, although the pillows were very hard for my liking.

One thing I found disappointing was that the safety deposit box costs €50 per week, which I feel should be included or at least be considerably cheaper.

Hotel, pools & entertainment

The hotel itself is beautiful and generally very clean. There is a mini market inside the hotel, which is convenient, although the prices are a little expensive. There isn’t really anything around the hotel, so if you want to visit the town, you will need to take a taxi or the local bus.

The pools are all salt water and, unfortunately, quite cold. The waterpark is great for older children .

The floor around the pool area is also quite rough and uncomfortable to walk on, so I would definitely recommend bringing pool slippers or swim shoes, especially for young children.

Entertainment was one of the weaker points for us. The evening shows were quite late and not particularly exciting. We enjoyed the live music in the lobby bar much more. The animation team were lovely and friendly, and my daughter especially enjoyed the mini disco.

Food

We enjoyed the food overall and always found something we liked, but it was quite repetitive, especially breakfast. The main restaurant could also be extremely crowded and noisy at dinner time, with queues for food.

There were lots of delicious desserts, fresh fruit and especially good ice cream! I also think having a coffee machine in the restaurant would be a nice improvement.

Staff

The staff were definitely one of the highlights of our stay. A special mention to the lovely Filipino ladies in the main restaurant – they were incredibly kind, hardworking and always smiling. They learned our children’s names and always gave them a high five, which our children loved.

Also, a special thank you to Armando at the lobby bar, who was extremely friendly and made delicious cocktails!

Beach & overall

The sea and sandy beach were beautiful, with lots of fish for the children to discover. We never had trouble finding a sunbed, either by the pool or on the beach, which was a big plus.

We also tried the Greek à la carte restaurant and really enjoyed it.

Overall, we had a lovely family holiday and would happily return. There are definitely some areas that could be improved, but the beautiful location, friendly staff, great beach and lovely atmosphere made it a very enjoyable stay.
