- Atlantica Thalassa Hotel

It is located in the North Region of the island, in the area called Lambi. Also, reaching the city from Lambi Str. is as easy as pie since public transportation is available every 5 to 10 minutes. Its 24km away from the National Airport of Kos "Hippocrates" (KGS)and 4 km from city of Kos.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
The Atlantic Thalassa Hotel, is a well maintained, clean hotel. Location is slightly away from Kos town - whilst there is a shop onsite, the prices are considerably inflated. Woud suggest a trip into Kos to a local supermarket if you need to stock up on essentials. They also prefer if you pay in Euros. Recommend taking a refillable cup with yourselves, we saw several people with these and the pool bar staff were more than happy to fill these. Pool - if you want a sunbed by the pool you need to be there at 7am and whilst the cleaning team do remove towels that have been left unattended, usually there was one person sat on the beds "keeping them" and after 9am they don't check again - there are other sunbeds available on the grass area so don't worry you will always be able to find a bed. Restaurant - whilst it felt a bit samey there was a good choice, usually pasta and sauce, chips, pizza, chicken or pork, vegetables, wonderful salad and fruit bar and a good selection of desserts and ice cream available. The waitresses/waiters work damn hard keeping this area tidy. Room - ours was 111 which was just off reception and overlooked the construction site - although there was no work undertook when we were there. Downside not enough hangers for our clothes. Room was serviced everyday and was spotlessly clean. Entertainment Team - Kat, Stefan an Jay work hard - the day time entertainment program is the same every day (except Thursday their day off) and there is a little night time entertainment - bring your Uno cards to keep yourselves entertained. Bar - night time bar was sometimes slow, but no slower than a local pub back at home. Waiter service is also available. All in all a lovely hotel and a very relaxing holiday
This Hotel shows so much promise on your arrival,it sits back from the road so the traffic noise is non existent is across the road from the beach which the hotel have a section for €4 a sunbed on which you can spend a very pleasant day on the beach, waiter service available, though just as quick to walk back to the restaurant for lunch etc., once checked in your cases will/ can be portered to your room, though if you are in a rush to unpack and get un the pool take your own case to your room, as depending on how many arrivals will dictate how long you luggage will take, be warned the surrounding paths are flat but they are slightly uneven in places giving your case a rough ride to its destination. We were on the 3rd floor in a lovely room facing the fields, shielded from the morning and early afternoon sun, so coffee on the balcony is a must.
Our friends had rooms on the opposite side to us and whilst a coffee watching the sun rise sounds lovely, once it rises retreating back inside was the beat option to hide from the heat. Rooms have a spacious comfortable bed which to be honest was probably the most comfortable hotel bed we’ve ever had. Large screen TV in the room with various channels, no English speaking on ours. Storage is a bit tight with a double wardrobe with two drawers and a couple of narrow fixed shelves above the fridge unit.Cases fit beautifully behind the room entrance door. Bathroom had a walk-in shower with fixed rainfall shower head and handheld head both very refreshing. Plenty of hot water to go around too. Towels are supplied and are soft white and fluffy . Though only two bath towels are supplied unless requested. Changed whenever you want by housekeeping.
Staff are super friendly and Christina, Michaela, Eda, Ken and many more all deserve a mention, Eva on reception is so helpful as are most of the staff.
Food during our stay was inconsistent in both options and variety, pork seems to be available at every lunch and dinner without fail, starters Greek salad always a solid , hot lunch/ dinner is where the issue seemed to be, chips always available ( why?) the roast potatoes with rosemary looked so promising, but were cold,, you can usually find something to eat , but it may not be a combination you normally eat.
Pool loungers are plentiful, though those on the grassed area offer no shade which is a must in high 30 degree sun. Of the seventeen members of the group, slight sunburn on the shoulders was the only casualty caused by underestimating the strength of the sun. Factor 30-50 was the best option nice tan no burning , though on our boat trip aboard Christina around the three islands even that struggled resulting in three Rudolph the red nose Reindeer impressions. There is a toddlers pool in a quieter area next to the large pool which my two year old grandson seemed to look at and go “ Not going in there “, there is a lifeguard on duty on the main pool. The Entertainment team work so hard and are it would appear to be driven by Cats enthusiastic nature, though Stefan and Jaylin too are enthusiastic, all three are happy to chat ( especially Cat) they provide various entertainment throughout the week with the exception of Thursday their day off.
Would we return here, probably not, but only as we are in our mid sixties, for those with young children it is a great place to bring them, though the hotel is a €10 taxi ride from Kos Town, there are bus stops outside the hotel, though the buses run on “Greek Time” can be early or later that advertised 10:15 can arrive anytime after.
We have just returned from a fantastic 10-day stay in Kos and couldn't have asked for a better holiday. The hotel was lovely, spotlessly clean, and well looked after. The food was excellent throughout our stay, with a great variety every day and something to suit all tastes. Everything was fresh, well cooked, and really enjoyable. The location was another big plus. It's close to Kos Town, and taxis were easy to get whenever we wanted to head out and explore. What really made this holiday stand out, though, was the amazing staff. Every single member of the team was welcoming, friendly, and always had a smile on their face. They genuinely seemed to care that guests were having a great time, and by the end of our stay we were genuinely sad to leave. A special thank you to Stamatia, and the entertainment team. Our 11-year-old son was made to feel included from the very first day, and that made such a difference to his holiday. Stefan, Jay, and Kat were all fantastic—so enthusiastic, approachable, and brilliant with both children and adults. Stefan's famous pool jump after volleyball became a holiday highlight and always had my son smiling! 😀 Thank you to everyone for making our holiday so memorable. We made some wonderful memories and wouldn't hesitate to return. Highly recommended!
We arrived on 29/07/2026 at around 8:30pm. From the moment we arrived the hotel staff took fantastic care of us. The whole site was beautiful. We spent each evening watching and joining in with the entertainment. The lovely Noel brought our drinks to the table and constantly checked we were ok. Kat Jaylin and Stefan made sure our children were entertained and really did take the time to get to know them. Our eldest son is quite shy and doesn't really like to dance however by the end of our stay he was dancing and having lots of fun. The accommodation and facilities were brilliant. I would say the price we paid was good value for money. You can take a bus to kos town or a taxi for 10 euros. There is a beach directly opposite the hotel however water shoes are definitley needed as it is a pebble beach. If you keep walking though you do get so some soft sandy areas. The food was cooked fresh and there were lots of choices even for fussy eaters. In the evening once the entertainment had finished it was so quiet and you could take in the calm sounds of Kos. The hotel definitley has a family feel and has a very chilled out vibe to it. The rooms are beautiful and cleaned daily by the staff. There is a little shop on site which has inflatables and all of the essentials. We would like to thank all of the staff but most of all the wonderful entertainment team of Kat Jaylin and Stefan who truly did make our holiday amazing. There were lots of tears on our final day.
This was our fourth visit to Atlantica Thalassa Hotel in Kos, and once again it exceeded all of our expectations. Every year we wonder how they can possibly improve, yet they always manage it. The biggest reason we keep returning is the incredible staff, who genuinely make you feel like part of the Atlantica family.
One of the most noticeable changes on this visit was the recent renovations throughout the hotel. The property has now been completely modernised, and the transformation is fantastic. The updated design gives the whole hotel a fresh, stylish and welcoming feel, while still maintaining its warm and friendly atmosphere. Everything feels brighter, more contemporary and thoughtfully designed, creating a really relaxing environment from the moment you arrive.
Even before we arrived, Edyta, the Reservations Manager, was exceptional. She replied promptly to every email and answered all of our questions before we travelled. Nothing is ever too much trouble for her. Her professionalism, kindness and genuine care for guests really stand out, especially as I have coeliac disease and require a strict gluten-free diet.
When we arrived late in the evening, we were warmly welcomed with drinks and each given a bag containing sandwiches, crisps and a drink – including a gluten-free option for me. After a long journey, this was such a thoughtful touch. George then kindly took our suitcases to our room with a huge smile, making us feel welcome from the moment we stepped through the door.
One of the things that makes this hotel so special is how seriously they take dietary requirements. Edyta arranged a meeting with the management team to create my own personalised gluten-free menu for the entire stay, which could be changed at any point if I fancied something different. The meeting included Stamatia (Restaurant Manager), Chef Starros, Dionisios (Hotel Manager) and Edyta herself. This level of care immediately allowed me to relax and enjoy my holiday without worrying about my next meal.
A special mention must also go to Chef Starros, who was also at the hotel last year. Once again, he created some of the best gluten-free meals I have ever eaten. Everything was freshly prepared, delicious and, most importantly, cooked safely with no cross-contamination.
However, the biggest thank you has to go to Stamatia, the Restaurant Manager, because she honestly made our holiday! From the very first day she knew exactly what my dietary needs were and went above and beyond every single day. She was there from breakfast until the end of the evening, always making sure I had everything I needed. Whether it was gluten-free desserts, ice lollies, freshly prepared meals or adapting something I had spotted on the buffet, nothing was ever too much trouble. If I saw something I liked, she would speak to the chefs and have a fresh gluten-free version prepared especially for me. Her kindness, dedication and attention to detail are second to none, and I honestly can't thank her enough.
At breakfast and lunch, Linda and Elie were also wonderful. They always greeted me with a smile and happily sorted gluten-free toast, gluten-free cereal, and anything else I needed without hesitation.
The entertainment team deserves huge praise too. Kat, Jaylin and Stefan were absolutely fantastic throughout our stay. During the day they would always come over for a chat between activities, creating such a warm and friendly atmosphere. They had a wonderful way of bringing everyone together, and before long guests were chatting to one another like old friends. It really feels like one big family at this hotel. They encouraged everyone to join in with activities but never made anyone feel pressured if they preferred to relax. Their energy, enthusiasm and friendliness are a real credit to Atlantica Thalassa and they created an amazing atmosphere day and night.
During our entire stay, Dionisios, the Hotel Manager, could always be seen walking around the hotel checking that guests were enjoying themselves and asking if everything was okay. It was clear to see how passionate he is about the hotel and how much he genuinely cares about both the guests and his staff. That personal touch makes a huge difference.
Our room was cleaned every day by a wonderful gentleman whose name, unfortunately, we didn't catch. He did a fantastic job, leaving the room spotless every single day with fresh towels and was always so pleasant whenever we saw him.
The bar staff are another huge asset to the hotel, and it was lovely to see some familiar faces from previous visits. Noel, Alladin, Ken and Christina always served everyone with a smile despite being incredibly busy. A special mention has to go to Noel, who worked tirelessly every evening clearing glasses, taking drinks orders and making sure everyone was looked after. He never stopped but always remained polite, cheerful and friendly. Every member of the bar team worked incredibly hard and their care and dedication never went unnoticed.
I'd also like to mention Konna, the lifeguard. Not only was she constantly attentive around the pool and clearly took safety very seriously, but she also interacted with guests throughout the day and always seemed to have a smile on her face. It was obvious how much she enjoys her job. One lovely moment that summed up her caring nature was when she rescued a baby bird that had fallen from its nest.
What really sets Atlantica Thalassa apart is the people. Every single member of staff works so hard to make your holiday special, and nothing ever feels like too much trouble. As someone with coeliac disease, travelling can often be stressful, but this hotel completely removes that worry. I felt safe, understood and genuinely cared for throughout our stay.
Thank you to every single member of the Atlantica Thalassa team for another unforgettable holiday. We are already looking forward to returning for our fifth visit. If you're looking for a hotel with exceptional service, outstanding food, an incredible atmosphere and staff who truly care, look no further. Atlantica Thalassa is simply outstanding.
