Far below five-star expectations and poor value for money
Unfortunately, my experience at Santa Marina did not match the price or the expectations of a luxury five-star resort.
Even though I booked one of the highest suite categories, the room felt surprisingly small and quite average. I have stayed at four-star hotels with better rooms, stronger service and much better value for money.
The main disappointment was the lack of genuine hospitality. A few employees were professional and clearly knew how to do their jobs, and I appreciate their efforts. However, the overall service lacked warmth, attention and consistency.
The restaurant experience was especially poor. Both the food and service were far below expectations, and I would rate the dining experience only 1 out of 5. At this price level, guests should receive excellent food, attentive service and careful attention to the small details that make a stay memorable.
The hotel has potential, but management needs to examine the guest experience very carefully—particularly hospitality, restaurant operations, room value and attention to detail. Overall, based on my stay, I cannot rate the hotel higher than 2 out of 5.

Gorgeous view
A very secured, safe and gorgeous location! This property is so stunning with its own private beach, infinity pools and two restaurants with good menu options. We stayed here for 4 days and it was amazing. You are 10-15min drive away from little Venice or fun restaurants. We ate here twice but needed a variety plus the cost of food here is on the higher end so went out few times. Good food options walking distance or a quick ride. Beach is gorgeous with a bar and servers around to help you with food or drinks options. What lacked here is the “exceptional customer service” especially around the beach side the staff are not as friendly like they were in other resorts. Even walking around no one really greets you or says good morning. Breakfast is a buffet and Sofia was amazing. Buffet caters for allergies etc good variety of fruits, pastries and menu options to choose from. Overall good experience.

Overflowing with finesse
Overall, we felt a wonderful energy of carefree luxury from our stay at Santa Marina. The staff is primarily focused on customer satisfaction at all levels, a top element for me, which is obtained from a combination of experience and mentality. Amazing flavors, both at Buddha Bar and Elais. Wonderful room and common areas. The only thing that may be "problematic" is that you have difficulty leaving the hotel. I hope we will see each other again.

The Private Beach: Santa Marina has the only luxury private sandy beach on the island. Whoever has tried to move around Mykonos by car in the summer months has experienced the traffic jams and parking challenges, and will understand the true value of this. Should you wish to experience other beaches, the hotel has its own dock from where a boat can take you anywhere in a few minutes—in style. South-Facing Location: Santa Marina faces south, which means you won’t be exposed to the strong winds Mykonos is known for. The Atmosphere: Beautifully spread over a hill with impeccably curated gardens and dreamy views over Ornos Bay, it offers tranquility and energy at the exact same time. The Food: It is hard to enjoy a Greek summer without Greek food. Elais offers incredible Greek meze—my favourite was the aubergine salad (the best I have ever tasted) served on innovative carob pie, and the shrimp tartare. Meanwhile, Buddha-Bar offers fantastic sushi and refined Asian plates in a great atmosphere that turns into a fun dancing scene around midnight. Must try- cod. One more huge advantage of 40 years of experience is consistency. In days when hospitality struggles with trained staff, Santa Marina’s team is fully aligned with the goals of the past four decades: being here to please and pamper the guest. Any rule they have was invented with this exact vision and purpose in mind. Respect to the kind, hospitable and humble General Manager, the conductor of this wonderful team.
