- Mykonos Kosmoplaz Beach Resort Hotel

The hotel is situated only 5 m from the sea at Platys Gialos beach. The airport is roughly 3 km away, while the town of Mykonos lies at a distance of 3.5 km. There is a bus station and taxi station next to the hotel. The air-conditioned hotel has a total of 36 rooms and a lobby with a hotel safe. Furthermore, the hotel has its own bar, with a view of the sea, a restaurant and a TV room. Laundry services and parking are also available as well as Internet access. All rooms are fitted with luxurious and modern furniture. They are fully equipped as standard with air-conditioning individually adjusted. Leisure facilities include a swimming pool, a sauna and a gym. All kind of water sports are available on the beach as well as a playground next to the hotel. Guests may enjoy traditional Greek cuisine, snack bar and Italian restaurant in the premises of the complex.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
Babis was an amazing staff, bringing drinks and on top of things. Brought everything fast and was very nice
WARNING :Terrible experience at Mykonos Kosmoplaz Beach Resort. More than 20 guests complained about the same issue in just one day. Although we booked a beachfront 4-star hotel, we were offered unacceptable accommodation in a separate building several blocks away, with no beach view and surroundings completely different from what was advertised.
The conditions were, in my opinion, below even a 2-star standard. Only a guest were reportedly refunded or moved, while others were left without a proper solution. We were treated rudely and felt completely abandoned by the hotel, the booking platform and the local authorities. Many videos and people exchange contact to denonciation to go to authorities in Mykonos.
I was physically and emotionally exhausted and no longer in a condition to remain at the reception fighting for hours. I therefore had no choice but to leave and pay for another hotel, which was a genuine 4-star property. I am now requesting a full refund for the accommodation I could not use, as well as reimbursement of the additional hotel costs. I SAW bad reviews only now is not correct you do not care informing people ! only in June . Juillet August is a lot !!!! This appears to be a serious case of overselling and misleading room allocation. Travellers should be extremely careful before booking this property.
Very bad hotel. From the receptionists to the rooms without windows. All wrong. Also: tiny pool, paid beach (the hotel's own). The rooms are 10km from the reception... without windows. Crazy. They are the basement of a warehouse. The hotel staff very stupid and without giving clear solutions. And to add, it is very expensive. They didn't give us the option to change rooms, I would have paid more.
Babis was the best - remembered what we like and was always friendly and helpful! Will go back to our favorite place on the beach!
Honest Review of Kosmoplaz Mykonos Hotel
We stayed at Kosmoplaz Mykonos for 3 nights, and unfortunately it was one of the most disappointing hotel experiences we’ve had.
The room we were assigned looked nothing like what was advertised. We booked a Comfort Double Room with a Queen Bed, but instead received a room with two small double beds. The room itself was located in a separate basement building beside the garage, completely detached from the main hotel, and honestly felt more like a storage-level room than a 4-star hotel accommodation.
There is virtually no natural light. The bathroom window faces a cement block wall, and the only other window opens into the indoor hallway rather than outside, offering no privacy or fresh air. The room had a noticeable moldy smell, the blanket was dirty upon arrival, the safe didn’t work, and there was almost no closet or storage space.
The hotel’s online photos are extremely misleading. There is no realistic representation of these basement rooms or their actual location, and had we known what we were booking, we never would have chosen this property.
The hotel is marketed as a beach resort, which technically is true because it sits beside the beach. However, the beach loungers and umbrellas are operated separately, so guests have to pay extra to use them. The loungers are made of leather, which is an odd and uncomfortable choice under the hot sun, and they are packed so closely together that the beach feels overcrowded.
The hotel has two pools, one of which uses untreated seawater. Seeing seawater flowing directly into the pool wasn’t particularly appealing, and there are barely any loungers or seating around it, making it difficult to actually relax by the pool.
Overall, the hotel feels very outdated, and the decor is tired despite being presented beautifully in professional photos online. The reality simply doesn’t match the marketing.
I rarely leave negative reviews, but I wanted to write this to help future travelers make an informed decision. Mykonos is an incredible destination, but unfortunately this hotel set such a poor tone for our trip that it genuinely affected our overall experience of the island.
If you’re considering Kosmoplaz, I strongly recommend looking carefully at recent guest photos and asking exactly which room category and building you’ll be staying in before booking. We certainly wish we had. We totally feel we got scammed:(
