We were very disappointed with this hotel. It is definitely not a 4 star. The whole place is dated and in need of a major refurbishment. The rooms, although clean & basic, had no kettle, leaking shower, poor toiletries that were never replaced, tatty towels that were only replaced once during our stay. The pool towels are also tatty & frayed. The cupboard door was hanging off its hinges. Two plastic chairs & a small plastic table on the patio. The bed was terrible and uncomfortable. The room door has an outdated key system The sunbeds were awful, most had been repaired with sharp edges The food in the restaurant was tasteless and they DO NOT cater for dietary requirements. I have Coeliac disease and require gluten free options. The Restaurant Manager just pointed at what I could eat. No awareness of cross contamination at all. I resorted to eating out at local restaurants, which were lovely and catered very well for me The most redeeming feature is the beachfront location This was not a cheap holiday, costing over £3,000 for 10 days. We booked it after looking on the TUI website. The images taken at the time, do not reflect the condition and state of the hotel now and are very misleading Do not stay here

⭐⭐ 2 Stars – Very disappointing for a hotel advertised as four-star We have been visiting the Greek Islands for approximately 24 years, and unfortunately, Sunshine Hotel Rhodes was by far the worst hotel experience we have ever had. We booked this hotel expecting a four-star, all-inclusive experience. Sadly, in our experience, it fell well short of that standard. Room & housekeeping On arrival, there was no kettle in our room. I contacted reception and was told that kettles were only provided to guests who had a baby with them. After having to contact reception several times, we eventually received one. We then discovered that there were no cups or glasses in the room, so we had to contact reception again. The room itself was not particularly clean, and the housekeeping service was very disappointing. On one occasion, the only way we received clean bed linen was after we stripped the bed ourselves and left the dirty bedding on the floor. On another occasion, we returned to find clean sheets simply left on the end of the bed for us to put on ourselves. Only one roll of toilet paper was left in the room, and replacement towels were extremely slow. This is not what we expected from a four-star hotel. All-inclusive facilities The all-inclusive experience was also disappointing. At the pool bar, beer, spirits and soft drinks were served in extremely small plastic cups, similar in size to an office water-dispenser cup. The selection of soft drinks was very limited. There wasn't even a normal selection of popular drinks such as Coca-Cola or Sprite. Again, for a hotel sold as four-star and all-inclusive, this was very disappointing. Pool bar – staff attitude The worst part of the stay was the attitude of two female members of staff working at the pool bar. One morning I ordered a tea and coffee. I had to specifically ask for milk because it wasn't offered. A very small amount of milk was brought to me. I poured it into my coffee and asked for some more. I was told, "No more milk, it's finished," and the member of staff simply walked away. I explained that I needed more milk, but she again refused and walked away. The problem wasn't simply that the milk had run out. Things do run out. It was the dismissive and rude way the situation was handled. I went to reception and formally complained. The receptionist said she would contact the manager and arrange for milk to be sent down to the pool bar. Approximately an hour later, the manager contacted me while I was at the pool. I explained exactly what had happened and he said he would look into it and call me back. He never did. If a manager tells a guest that he will follow up on a complaint, I would expect him to do so. Food & restaurant The food selection was disappointing. The choice was limited and appeared to be very similar from one day to the next. The restaurant layout was also poorly organised. One type of vegetable could be at one side of the restaurant while other vegetables were at the opposite end. Tea and coffee were in one area while the milk was somewhere completely different. The whole arrangement was unnecessarily confusing. General condition The general condition of parts of the hotel was also disappointing. Approximately 80% of the black leather sofas in the lobby appeared to be ripped or badly damaged. There were also weeds growing through the cobblestone areas around the hotel grounds, giving parts of the property an unmaintained appearance. Overall I have tried to be fair with this review. If this hotel had been advertised and priced as a two-star property, I would have had very different expectations. But it was sold to us as a four-star, all-inclusive hotel, and based on our experience, it simply did not meet that standard. There were some positive aspects to the holiday, which is why I am giving 2 stars rather than 1, but the overall standard of accommodation, housekeeping, food, facilities and customer service was far below what we expected. After 24 years of visiting the Greek Islands, this was without question the worst hotel we have ever stayed in. We have raised our concerns formally with the travel provider and hotel management and will be seeking an appropriate response. Our advice: if you are booking this hotel expecting a typical four-star all-inclusive experience, I would carefully manage your expectations.
