Olympic Palace Resort Hotel and Convention Center

A fantastic experience start to finish. Every member of staff made us feel welcome, from hotel front of house staff to the room service workers.

The rooms were lovely, smelt fresh, plenty of space and plenty of power sockets! The balcony was a lovely space to chill in the evening too! The hotel supplied a travel cot for our 1.5 year old, although he never ended up using it, it was in great condition and room service did change the sheets and clean it each day!

The hotel, its self is clean and modern, and there’s something to do for everyone. The noise levels are fair, there is music around the pool in the day that’s not too loud and all the music is family appropriate.

The location is ideal for family’s, there’s many local bars and restaurants for an easy option and it’s €15/20 taxi ride to Rhodes old town.

I’d say the value of the hotel is well worth it!

A special mention to the entertainment team (Pink Wave) - these guys were fantastic. They helped make our son’s first ever holiday so special. Little things like stopping to say hello to him within the hotel when passing for a quick I chat and a high five, and the fact they even learned/remembered his name is massive to us. It shows they care and go above snd beyond to make the children feel included and special!. They’re based in the kids club during the day and they even do the water aerobics in the pool a couple times a week. The kids mini disco at 8:30PM is also one for families not to miss. The guys are really inclusive and even get the parents involved.

All in all, a fantastic stay. Will definitely be back and would 100% recommend.

We stayed in August and had a genuinely great time.

Positives The food was excellent — we all have different tastes and were impressed every day.

Lots of reviews stress the need for a sea view room. That would've cost us an extra £1,000, which wasn't in our budget. Our "mountain view" was underwhelming and we barely used the balcony — but it didn't matter. We watched the sunset every night from the rooftop bar or the beach and spent very little time in our rooms.

Sunbeds were a worry beforehand, but turned out fine. We ate breakfast around 9am and headed straight to the pool, always finding five together a few rows back. Some guests were out reserving sunbeds right by the pool from as early as 7am — worth knowing if you have young children. Staff did clear towels left on empty loungers before the pool opened at 10am. If you're hoping to grab poolside sunbeds together between 11am–3pm, you'd be lucky. Beach sunbeds were always available.

Kebabs served poolside as part of all-inclusive were excellent and quick.

Trips were a highlight: Rhodes Town (lively market within the castle walls, long beach, clear sea), Lindos (beautiful, clear sea, though busy — visiting the Acropolis cost €100 for non-EU citizens), and the water park (25-minute taxi ride, big hit with the boys).

The local Zythos beer, included in all-inclusive, is a solid lager.

The spa was a real highlight — genuinely high quality and excellent value. We had it almost to ourselves for an hour.

Bar staff, cleaners, and waiters were all friendly, and the hotel had a great atmosphere. No laddish behaviour or misbehaving guests — everyone was considerate.

The crazy golf was great fun too.

Negatives We booked two rooms and were disappointed they ended up on opposite sides of the hotel. We'd requested twin beds at check-in, but this couldn't be accommodated the first night. The next day we were offered a smaller twin room on a different floor, which we declined.

Reception staff were polite but could be combative with queries or reasonable requests — one night staff member in particular was unnecessarily difficult. I know this has come up in other reviews too; it's not the experience you'd hope for.

The hotel beach was windy every day, with rough, murky water not great for snorkelling. The other side of the island had calm, clear water — we made the most of it on day trips with our own snorkels.

Tips For football, head to Glory Days FBI, five minutes' walk from the hotel — loads of screens, great atmosphere, and welcoming to teens (I brought our 14-year-old).

Dream Cream is 2 mins walk. Very pretty and the best milkshakes

Bring water shoes — the beach is stony.

Don't overlook the tourist tax: €15 per room, per night. We were hit with a €330 bill at reception.
