- Lindos Mare Hotel

This comfortable hotel is located in Lindos ,Rhodes . The property features a total of 141 rooms. This secluded, unique hotel is built on many different levels on a sun-kissed hillside with panoramic views of beautiful Vliha Bay, only 2,5 kilometers from the picturesque village of Lindos. All the rooms of the hotel are totally refurnished with large verandas and amazing views, decorated in warm colors and equipped with all modern facilities in order to offer a comfortable and memorable stay. Restaurants, lounge bar, pool bar and a big variety of amenities and activities are available also in the hotel.Acropolis of Lindos is at 3km away , the famous Butterfly valley is at 42 km away and the airport is 50 km away.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
We stayed at Lindos Mare for a few days and overall we had a wonderful experience. After comparing many hotels in Rhodes, we are very happy that we chose this one and would definitely recommend it.
One of the biggest advantages is the location. The hotel is beautifully situated on a hillside directly by the sea, with its own beach and amazing views. Having direct access to the beach was a huge plus for us — the water is incredibly clear, and the whole area feels peaceful and relaxing.
The hotel also has two swimming pools and a spacious, very well-maintained territory. One small downside is that it can be quite difficult to find an available sun lounger by the pool during the first part of the day, so this is something that could perhaps be better managed.
We chose a sea-view room, and it was absolutely worth it. Waking up to that view every morning was one of the highlights of our stay. The room was comfortable and, most importantly, very clean, with good daily housekeeping.
Breakfast offers a very wide selection — eggs, fresh fruit and vegetables, cheeses, pastries, yoghurt, hot dishes, Greek products and plenty of other options. Everything was fresh and there was more than enough to choose from. It would be great, however, to have a little more variation from day to day, as much of the selection remains the same every morning.
Another useful thing to know is that if you are lactose intolerant, you can ask the restaurant staff for dairy-free alternatives, and they are happy to help. As a small improvement, it would be very convenient to have lactose-free and/or oat milk available next to the regular milk by the cereals, rather than having to ask for it separately each time.
What really stands out at Lindos Mare, however, is the staff. The atmosphere throughout the hotel is genuinely warm and welcoming — people smile, greet you and are always ready to help.
A special thank you to Gabriel at the reception, who helped us with so many different things during our stay. He was always friendly, patient and incredibly helpful, and really made everything easier for us.
We would also especially like to mention Diana, Diomely and Polina at the breakfast restaurant. They were wonderful — attentive, friendly and always ready to help with anything we needed. Their kindness and positive attitude made our mornings even more enjoyable. People like this really make a difference to the overall hotel experience.
There is one other point we feel is important to mention. We were disappointed to see a cocktail called “moscow Mule” on the menu at the upper bar. Given russia’s ongoing war against Ukraine and Greece’s strong support for Ukraine, we find this insensitive and inappropriate, particularly towards Ukrainian guests. We would encourage the hotel to consider removing it from the menu or replacing it with a Ukrainian-themed cocktail instead. It may seem like a small detail, but gestures like this matter.
Overall, Lindos Mare is a beautiful and peaceful place with fantastic sea views, direct beach access, lovely pools, excellent cleanliness, good food and, above all, wonderful people working there. The points mentioned above are mainly suggestions for improvement and did not change our overall positive impression.
We have very warm memories of our stay and would happily come back. Thank you to the entire Lindos Mare team, and especially to Gabriel, Diana, Diomely and Polina, for making our stay in Rhodes so enjoyable! 🤍🇬🇷
A wonderful hotel with incredibly family friendly staff. Delicious food anf really wonderful views. Chris the swimming pool life guard was great as was Daniela at the small pool restaurent. So friendly and helpful everyone.
Have just got back from a weeks family holiday with two teenage boys. From start to finish, I can’t fault the experience! From management to cleaning staff and all in between, eveyone is pleasant, stops what they are doing to wish you good morning or good afternoon / evening. One of my kids has food intolerance and once the staff had been made aware, Diana who is on hand for all dietary needs, met with us at breakfast and dinner to give a personal walk around what food options were available. She also advised what foods could be adapted to cater for the diet. For someone who always feels forgoton about at meal times, my son was put first and for this alone, Diana made my son’s holiday.
The room was very comfortable with aircon and a fridge. Our room was very close to the pool bar and a 2 mins walk from the beach which was great. Crystal clear sea and we snorkelled everyday seeing some great fish and marine life.
The main pool gets a little busy but not overly so. No need to reserve sun loungers as always plenty available. The hotel has a 45 mins policy on reserved loungers. Whilst I didn’t see them remove towels I did see them place notices on beds reminding people to be considerate. The views are simply stunning too!
We shall definitely be returning in the future.
We stayed at the Lindos Mare for our very first time in July. Looking at the social media posts before we arrived both my husband and I were very much looking forward to our stay particularly more so as it was our first time in Rhodes.
The hotel is set on its own with a main pool and a smaller pool much lower down the cliff. We thought it would be more couples and older children with families, as there’s no pool slides etc compared to other hotels. How wrong we were!! There are kids everywhere from tiny babies upwards, and with constant crying, screaming and shouting it wasn’t very relaxing.
We had booked a sea view room - however although we could see the sea our ‘sea view’ was only very partial and we overlooked a roof with noisy air conditioning and cooking fans first so you had to look beyond that - not what we were expecting! Our room was also very tired - I don’t think there was ample space for clothes and both myself and hubby struggled where to put our stuff (we don’t travel light). If the bathroom door was closed you couldn’t one the wardrobe doors as it got on the bathroom door. It was only on our last day when we requested a shower room that we fully realised how old our room was. We had used an old over the bath shower all week compared to a large walk in shower we used on the last day. Our room also had no hot water at night from 11pm onwards.
On a positive note the food is good especially the evening meal which I’d say at times was excellent. However, it’s very noisy! It felt more like a canteen than a hotel restaurant and if there was background music playing you certainly couldn’t hear it!
The pool itself is lovely but the area around and particularly the sheltered decking area is not cleaned at the end of each day and there were pieces of chicken and lettuce at the side of some sun beds all week! The pool gets very busy especially with kids, Laylo’s and constant ball games. We love kids but didn’t appreciate the constant screaming or splashing, and we even witnessed some children’s parents just launching their kids into the pool with no thought for others. The pool attendant (on the 5 of the 7 days he was there) did nothing to stop this - despite there being signs up this wasn’t allowed.
The staff are lovely - except for one older restaurant waiter we found to be quite abrupt and rude. Most of the staff work hard but the management are constantly on at them and it’s very easy to see on a daily basis.
The hotel is built into a cliff side (which we knew) however we weren’t prepared for four lifts and then quite a walk to the beach. We love going to the beach on holiday but this was such a toll we only did it the once. The cable car and lifts were a pain particularly at busy times (think snakes and ladders). Cable car to your room and back, to the pool, to the restaurant - it was never ending. Entertainment is very minimal and again noisy and not appreciated when there is some with kids crying and running around.
All in all we were quite disappointed with the hotel. We weren’t asked on checkout if everything was ok which we also found unusual,
The hotel is generally very clean, but with so much noise both at the pool and restaurants, the lifts, an old room and so far above the beach and sea. We won’t be returning.
We’d say it’s definately not a 5 star hotel but a 4 star at best.
Me and my partner recently stayed in celebration of her 30th. What a great decision it was to pick the Lindos Mare. A fantastic hotel with a beautiful view over Vlicha Bay. We made the decision to upgrade our stay to a ‘sea view’ room which was a brilliant decision as i don't think i would ever get bored of looking at the view. The room/hotel was incredibly clean with new bedding, towels and a bottle of still water in your fridge daily. The staff who provide service across all aspects of the hotel do so with a smile on their face and in a very pleasant manner. I wouldnt be able to find one bad word to say about any of them. Shout out to Michelangelo in the Meltemi restaurant and his knowledge of local cuisine. In regards for food at the restaurant there is a great range for all persons and their dietary requirements. My partner is vegetarian and although tofu didnt appear on the menu she certainly enjoyed what did. The hotel has a breakfast and tea (dinner) option which is what we selected, however on the days that you want to eat elsewhere for tea (dinner) the hotel will provide you with a £20 voucher each to use at their facilities for dinner (lunch). Finally, if like us you like to travel to area where you stay then make sure you speak to reception as they will provide you with all the information they can to assist in your exploration.
