Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
this is honestly one of the worst hotel rooms i have ever stayed in. i genuinely cannot understand how this hotel can be rated as anything more than 2 stars at best.
i paid an additional £500 for a room upgrade, only to find that the upgraded room is arguably worse than the standard room. i have already demanded to be moved to another room tomorrow.
the room is incredibly dated, with damaged and battered woodwork that looks like it hasn’t been replaced since the 1980s. there is one plug socket between three people, and even that doesn’t actually charge properly.
the air conditioning is ridiculously loud, to the point where you have to turn it off to sleep. unfortunately, with it off, the room becomes uncomfortable.
the mattress is rock hard, the room is dark, and there is no view whatsoever. it certainly doesn’t feel like the upgraded room i paid £500 for.
and then there’s the mini bar. this is an all-inclusive hotel, yet the mini bar contains one bottle of water. that’s it.
for what we have paid, the standard of this room is absolutely unacceptable. the room looks tired, neglected and completely out of keeping with what you would expect from a high-end resort.
i’ve stayed in plenty of hotels and resorts over the years, and this is genuinely one of the biggest disappointments i’ve experienced. paying £500 for an upgrade and ending up in a room like this is particularly frustrating.
hopefully the room change tomorrow will improve things, but based on our first impression, i would not recommend this hotel and certainly would not pay extra for an upgrade.
Been there last week on a holiday package sold by Italian tour operator Bravo. High expectations for the 5 stars, dismantled the first moment I walked in the room. A junior suite with sea view was in terrible condition, with damaged furniture and not aligned to the “suite” concept. But the worst was yet to come: two days with floating feces in the sea in front of the hotel beach, bad smell throughout the resort (persistent mold smell at the Calypso bar… must be a joke). To reserve a seat in the thematic restaurant you must be lucky, as on the second day of our vacation there were only a couple options left and only for the last day of the vacation. Sun beds at the pools are another lottery, as people tend to wake up early to “reserve” them with their towels and then they disappear until 9-10AM. Asking 10€ of deposit in cash for every towel is a shame, it would be enough to provide a card that has to be returned at the checkout to avoid the charge. And you can only have them changed every second day and only between 10 AM and 6 PM. Last but not least… 25€ to have the safe box in the room enabled for one week? In a 5 star hotel? Seriously? If you are willing to go to Rhodes look for something else… The only positive note, if you’re Italian: Bravo animation staff always friendly and top of the line, despite the conditions in which they have to work.
Lovely views, beach and surrounding hotels. But Lindos royal is very disappointing. 3 star rating at best. Just very basic throughout. Bad sewage smell, basic food, poor drinks. The rooms are clean but very small with poor air conditioning. Constant queues for food and drink during the day. I enjoyed and spent more time using nearby hotels restaurant and bars which is annoying as I paid for an all inclusive holiday. The lobby bar is very nice, it’s just a shame you have to pay extra to drink in there.
Was such a shame visiting this hotel. I always book 5 stars, all inclusive. This hotel was far from it, anything extra you had to pay, 25 euros for the safe! No coffee or tea facilities in room, or in the lounge areas. The lounge itself you have to buy drinks, not part of the deal, frustrating.
Room itself, started off okay, Day 2 our AC was leaking, water all over the floor, although it was fixed quickly, no housekeeping came to help clean up, ended up using our own towels. Day 3, we had a power cut at 2am, called and called before someone came and sorted out. Day 3, the fire alarm kept going off during the night. Day 4 our room wasn't cleaned, had to beg for towels. By the end if the trip, we were exhausted.
AC in the room was absolutely rubbish, pools were smelly, and empty drink glasses were left around. Cleaning was not great, flies hovering over food in the restaurant. Coffee selection non existent.
Good luck trying to get a booking for the Thematic restaurants, no availability for the week, even though they say you have to use app.
The hotel entertainment team Bravo, literrally only spoke and egaged with those who could speak Greek, everyone else was just ignored. Not inclusive at all.
Such a shame, as I was really looking forward to this trip.
We were very hesitant on arrival after clocking the influx of bad reviews on here, I would say the majority of them seem unfair.
Having just returned from a 7 night stay as a family of 4 I would agree the hotel should be rated as a 3 star rather than 4.
We arrived late at night and the gentleman checking us in was friendly and informative. The reception area is spacious and clean. Although we didn't use it they had kept the restaurant open for late arrivals which is something I haven't come across before.
Our room was in block 4000, The air con was suboptimal at best which in 36 degree heat was extremely frustrating. The room was a junior suite which was arguably dated, The bathroom was functional but definately needs a revamp. You are given bottles of water on arrival but these aren't replenished daily and you either fill them up from water stations (not chilled or particularly hygienic) or buy water from the on site supermarket.
The food is good and plenty of choice for everyone although the buffet restaurant felt increasingly busy over the course of the week. We booked the themed restaurants on the website via the QR code issued to us at check in and managed to go to the mediterranean and greek, both pretty good. We went to Lindos which was €30 return and Pefkos which was €40 in a taxi booked via the reception team.
Despite previous reviews and comments about the beach I thought the beach was the highlight of our holiday, Yes there is no beach bar but you can easily get back up to the pool bar in 5/10 minutes. Plenty of sunbeds. The only pitfall to the beach is the 'Bravo' team, From observation I think they are there purely for italian guests and are pretty hostile to any other guests. They host games/activities down at the beach but appeared to be italian exclusive.
The main pool areas are a bit scruffy and jam packed, the music is far too loud and a lot of sunbed wars going on. The pool with the slides was good but again no sun loungers, We just used to go up and go in the pool/use the slides rather than spending a day there.
Room cleaning standards could be improved but I imagine staff are stretched during summer season. The bar staff are friendly enough on the most part.
Drink queues are fine providing you time it right, I never waited long enough to feel irritated by it. Drinks themselves are standard AI quality. Snack bar good and laid out well.
Evening entertainment was shocking with acts just shoved into a corner by one of the pool bars, It's not something we are ever interested in but the bits we caught were poor.
All in all we had a good trip but I do think because of us having low expectations based on the reviews it was easy for these to be exceeded. I would not return to the Lindos Royal but would consider the hotels further round in Vlycha Bay.
