This hotel boasts an incredibly convenient location as it lies in the heart of Rhodes. It is close to the old town where guests will find various shopping venues and entertainment opportunities. This fully air-conditioned establishment comprises a total of 200 rooms spread over 6 floors. Guests are welcomed in the lobby, where they will find the charming café and the bar. In addition, the on-site restaurant serves a vast variety of culinary delights. All air-conditioned accommodation units include an en-suite bathroom and Internet access. Guests are able to make use of the swimming pool located in the well-tended grounds.
This was our second consecutive stay at Canvas by Mitsis Petit Palais, and while the hotel itself is good, comfortable and in a great location, it is the people who made us want to come back. The team have a rare ability to make you feel genuinely known and welcome. From the daily smiles at breakfast to the calm, reliable help throughout the day, their warmth never felt scripted or transactional. They noticed the little things, remembered us, and consistently made an effort to help our family get the most from Rhodes. We received excellent advice about trips to Symi and Lindos, help with finding authentic local clothing, and practical support with lunch boxes, including outside the usual collection times. These were not one-off gestures: the kindness and good service were consistent every day. The reception team were particularly thoughtful when we had a problem during a water shortage, arranging an alternative place for us to shower. They were also incredibly kind to our young son after he fell over, helping to comfort and distract him. A special mention as well for the pool lifeguard, who acted quickly and calmly when our two-year-old fell into the swimming pool. As parents, we were deeply grateful for his attentiveness, reassurance and professionalism. There were so many small moments of care: being asked if we would like something to drink, staff stopping to say hello when they saw us away from the hotel, and people taking the time to offer useful recommendations rather than simply pointing us in a direction. A nice hotel can make for a pleasant holiday. It is the people here who made ours memorable — and who brought us back for a second year. Thank you to the entire team.
We traveled with our daughter and chose Mitsis because we love Rhodes and wanted to explore it more thoroughly. Mitsis was perfect for that purpose, the hotel's location is great, and the hotel itself did not disappoint - great food, professional and helpful staff at the reception, bar and restaurant (best wishes to Stella). The rooms are meticulously cleaned, it's great that there are beach towels that you can take with you and stretch out on the free sunbeds. By the way, the beach attendant will always make sure that you are not overlooked and will make sure that everyone is comfortable. We will definitely come back if the opportunity arises.
Great quality service, located in the heart of town about twenty steps to the beach, tremendously friendly staff especially Captain Popi. Would recommend 10/10
We stayed for a week AI in early July as a UK family of 4 (kids aged 10 & 7). We arrived late at midnight for check in. Initially first impressions weren’t bad but not glowing either - purely in terms of dated decor. The room was also a squeeze for 4 beds and the pool view balcony was a postage stamp - only suitable for 2 people at a push. However this hotel really won me over… It was very clean, the rooms had good A/C and hot water. It also had a fridge filled with bottled water which was restocked. In the end the room was adequate for our needs. The pool /outside area was very nice for a city and we always found sun beds, but remember this not a beach resort. Yes the main pool becomes shaded later in the afternoon but this was welcome. The bar area and small pool stays sunny. Pool toilets were always clean and plenty pool towels too. The pool itself was fine for a dip and the kids lived in it for the week. Friendly lifeguard who kept a good eye. The food was very good (first experience of AI for us) with an excellent choice and probably better than expected on the whole. We really enjoyed the Greek night. The fresh pizza was amazing thanks to Nictarios. The wine / beer was decent and the AI cocktails fine. The pool bar did excellent homemade fries as well as crepes & hotdogs. We felt the hotel was a good size, not too big and that the children were safe to independently return to the room to collect items etc. However, what is stand out in this hotel are the staff - all who are helpful and cheerful. They engaged with our kids and even knew their names (and crepes orders before I did!) The location was excellent and lots of attractions were an easy walk. Bus station beside the old town walls to go further a field. Boats from the harbour. The hotel in general grew on us and now would I return? Absolutely!! *it may be worth noting that there was a mix of tourist types & nationalities staying at the hotel; couples, families, single families but there were some bigger groups of young people staying for short stays who were non AI. Most were lovely (shout out to the 4 English girls who engaged our kids for a game of water polo) however some larger male only groups were noisy for short periods of time. I did have to call reception one evening, who were very helpful and responded quickly.
Stella and the team was great and hospitable!
