Lovely stay. Fab pool, though very deep and not suitable for non swimmers.
We had a lovely stay at the Gardenia hotel. We had a ground floor room overlooking the pool, which was exactly what I asked for even though we didn't have direct access to the pool from our balcony , it was spot on. The manager was very helpful when we thought the air con wasn't working and it turned out to be our fault, nothing wrong with the air con. The hotel was handy for everything including a great little supermarket. I would definitely stay here again if I was ever to return to Santorini.

Generally Happy
Last year was our first stay at the Gardenia and for the whole two weeks the pool was unusable due to a broken pump. We were self catering and the room was good with a little kitchenette and small balcony, plenty adequate for two of us. The room was cleaned and bedding changed daily apart from the last two days. This year (2026) we tried B&B, the room was again good with a modest size balcony to sit out, not much of a view but it was semi private which we like. Again the room was cleaned and bedding changed everyday this time for the whole two weeks. The only two faults I have from this year, one was the shower was broken, the bracket that holds the shower head to the wall was broke and judging by the condition of the bracket it wasn't a recent break and had been like that for some while, the shower was still usable you either had to hold it or rest it behind the tap, also there wasn't a kettle in the room, so if you want a brew at some point, you couldn't, so be aware of that.
The breakfast was adequate, with a choice for most everybody, cereals, fruits, bacon, scrambled eggs, cold meats, plenty for us. They also advertise a safe , but the ones in the room are unusable you have to rent one in the reception.
Overall the Gardenia is a decent place to stay, location is good, 5 minute walk to the beach and the little supermarket at the top of the street. There is a night club close but not to loud or annoying we sat out a couple of nights listening to the songs being murdered on the karaoke, was quite funny. The staff are pleasant and helpful particularly the chap on evening/night shift, he's really nice, I haven't found out his name yet, but one night when I was moderately tipsy I christened him Stavros Popeye after he said he'd been working on the tour boats round the island.
One last note, we have already book the Gardenia for 2027 so that will be our third year and our 16th consecutive year of staying in Perissa.

Fantastic Santorini holiday
Last day in the Gardenia hotel but we will return. What a fabulous little complex. Probably the cleanest I have stayed in. It's not a fancy hotel but the rooms are large, airy and have all we needed for a self catering break. We had room 47, which looked out over the very nicely sized and inviting pool. The pool bar and snack bar, were fantastic and the staff friendly and attentive. As it was a September break there were plenty of availability on the sunbeds. Perissa square is a short walk, as is the beach making the location of the hotel, absolutely spot on. Looking for a good clean hotel with everything on your doorstep, please consider Gardenia Hotel, I'm sure like us you won't be disappointed.

What a gem of a find! We booked last minute and were not disappointed. We stayed B&B, breakfast was cooked fresh every morning. Our room was clean and comfortable. Staff were helpful and friendly. Pool area was clean with plenty of sunbeds. Pool bar was open from 9.30 and the food was lovely. Cannot fault it. We will be back!
1980s budget no frills clean hotel
Our dubai hol was cancelled in July and the only place me n my daughter agreed was santorini as she's been everywhere else while working for BA. We booked jet2 package at a super cheap price and a free child we knew it was a low star and a no frills basic hotel. We arrived around lunch with the room ready. It was basic I mean basic but clean. Off we headed to the pool n got beds straight away. Only 1 other child who went the next day n another arrived.the food is super cheap around the pool we only had toasties n chips. Amenities are basic but location is fab. We had room 25 please don't ever ask for this as cleaners cupboard is next door and my god they are noisy very early.we did tell reception and it did quiet down a little from 7am shower was hit n miss powerful then not!!beds n towels done everyday. We ate in atlantis island,apollen twice ,acropolis twice,aqua and did charlenas greek night. All worth a visit especially greek night. We did irina bakery left up the road from the back Rd and right at end opposite sirrrocs italian is another bakery for excellent cheesecakes and cookies. Reception girl n man at night very helpful. We hired a safe at 1 euro a day. Supermarket on back Rd cheap and sell cat food to feed the homeless we bought a big bag.went to fira on bus lovely bakery next to McDonald's for good coffee and breakfast. If you get a super cheap deal I'd defo book .we paid 1200 for 3 of us . I absolutely want to book again next year with my other daughter aircon is great and free pool and shower is salt water be careful with kids . Its so central so clean but super super super 1980s old fashioned no frills enjoy !!!!
