Palmyra Hotel

I have mixed feelings about this review. We picked this hotel because after a huge refurbishment the hotel looked stunning and it lived up to expectations. The hotel has a lovely boutique feel and is constantly being cleaned as are the rooms with fresh towels daily.

Plenty of hot and cold breakfast options in the lovely breakfast room or the outside patio. The hotel is also in a fabulous location right in the heart of Argassi with everything on your doorstep.

However, we unfortunately didn’t get to spend much of our time enjoying this beautiful hotel because of the sunbed situation. 100% of the beds are being ‘reserved’ in the early hours and not actually being used until these guests enjoy a long lie and a leisurely breakfast ie 9.30am-10am meanwhile guests like ourselves who are at the pool early can’t get a bed. It’s extremely frustrating to look out to a pool covered in towels and no one in attendance and have to leave and go elsewhere. Luckily Argassi have some great beach clubs where you can use the sunbeds for free as this was a lifesaver for us.

The hotel try hard to add extra beds but management really need to discourage the reserving of beds in the first instance as it is so unfair. So unfortunately I feel I didn’t experience everything this lovely hotel has to offer.

We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful hotel. From the start everyone was so helpful, the cleaning, reception, bar and breakfast staff are so friendly. It had a real boutique feel. It’s spotlessly clean and very well air conditioned throughout. Our room was lovely with a wonderful view of the pool and sea. The pool area was more like a 4/5 star with the most comfortable sun-beds. There was never a problem getting one.
There is a great shower room downstairs you can use on your last day. Again spotlessly clean and very modern. Highly recommend!

Just returned from a fabulous holiday staying at the Palmyra. We absolutely loved the hotel , Jet2 have it as a three star but it is so much better than that rating. Everywhere is spotlessly clean, all the staff are lovely especially Alexandra on reception who was always helpful . Breakfast is excellent a good choice of hot and cold food which varied daily. The bar serves really good food throughout the day . The swimming pool is excellent with really luxurious loungers. We were lucky to have the only room on the top floor which had a huge balcony and great view over the pool and a sea view. Comfy bed, great showers only negative we had a kettle and cups but it would have been nice to have some tea /coffee sachets in our room and a bottle of water in the fridge would be gratefully received on arrival. The resort is bustling but we were never disturbed by street noise . The Palmyra is just 2 minutes walk from shops bars and taverns and 3 mins from the sea although it is not the best beach. Argassi is a busy resort with so much choice in bars and restaurants our favourite place to eat was definitely Skyfall really excellent food and right on the beach. For drinks and great cocktails Solesea.
