Caretta Beach Resort and Waterpark

Good things:

Hotel room was big it had an upstairs and a fridge witch was very cold and bar drinks was good and the food staff were kind to lots of stuff around there is a long road of pubs shops and restaurants.

Bad things: Bed had stains on it slides not all of them were open food in the restaurant food was basically the same every day and if you have picky eaters not really the best place to have dinner and the pool with the net in it was shut for 2 days and it is slippery in there to.

Overall

We have just finished a week in the carreta beach resort with a 15 year old, 11 year old and 4 year old and we very much enjoyed our weeks stay. Definitely worth the money and very very good for kids and adults.

Location

The resort is very close to the main strip area with lots of bars, restaurants,shops and places to book excursions. There is a bus that goes to the beach but it really wasn’t a long walk and it is an enjoyable walk. There is a bus stop just outside the resort that is roughly every 15 minutes that takes you into zante town and is only 12 minutes. On most booking sites it is a half an hour transfer time we were on the bus for 10 minutes then we were there which is ideal because the roads are very winding.

Rooms

The rooms are modern and comfortable we had an upstairs with a second balcony which was nice. Rooms were cleaned everyday without fail. We had a mini fridge not sure if every room has but that was helpful for water and some snacks. An ironing board was not provided in the room but can be hired for €5. There is a kettle as well. Lots of storage and again kept well maintained we had plenty of space as a family of 5. Air conditioned rooms which is amazing air con works well.

Food & Restaurants

There are 4 restaurants including the greek, main one . italian and burger. The italian and burger are al a carte and proper sit down whereas the other two are buffet style. The greek and main restaurant have average all inclusive foods something for everyone there is a separate pastry and dessert corner which was nice as it was served to you by the man working behind the counter. Fresh food is put out regularly. There is always people who complain but we thought it was good considering it’s an all inclusive. The greek restaurant is slightly different food and is usually quieter which makes it feel more fancy. There was some difference of foods however majority the same but again enjoyable. The italian was very nice inside felt almost like a proper restaurant.The food was alright considering it's all inclusive. We enjoyed it. The staff were lovely as well. We waited a long time however for our main but it was busy it just seemed like people who came in after ate first.

Snack Bar & Drinks

There is also a snack bar which has hot dogs, pizza, sandwiches, salads, chips, chicken nuggets toasties and more. They were nice however the chicken nuggets were grey inside most likely absolutely fine people ate them and so did our 4 yo and was fine. Drinks very good your average alcoholic drinks and cocktails but very nice. However a very good thing for us was the kids mocktails very nice and made the kids included.The water doesn’t taste very nice but isn’t tap water so is safe to drink as far as we know.Tje drinks are non branded however are nice. There are a lot of wasps at the bar but can’t be helped. The bar staff are very nice. There is also an ice cream place at the bar which serves vanilla, chocolate, strawberry, and banana served by someone which keeps the cleanliness.Overall was nice .

Pools & Waterpark

There are a number of different swimming pools we didn’t get round to them all so can only speak for the one closest to block B however was very clean and well maintained. There is also a jacuzzi which is again well maintained. The pool area is kept clean there is always cleaners cleaning around. The only thing is the wasps near the sugary drinks however cannot be helped just don’t spill a drink they will be all over it. No sun-bed wars possibly because it’s September but was always plenty. There is another pool with a volley ball net as well. Toilets are near by and cleaned all the time.The water park is also very good there is a younger children’s area with lots and lots to do for kids and is very enjoyable and clean. The bigger slides are again very good however only 2 are open at a time whether this happens all year or just because it’s september not sure but have they aren’t open all at one time. Plenty of sun beds even some under a canopy. There is a wave pool however we didn’t get the chance to use this.

Entertainment & Kids Club

I would not say that much went on durning the day at least at the main pool in terms of entertainment darts happened a few times and some dancing but that’s all. Kids club is open from 10-12 and 4-6 was good the girls are lovely and lots to do with a park aswell. Evening entertainment looked good however we only seen one or two nights but they were good. The mini disco was also good. There is also lots of seating around there.

Staff

The staff are so friendly and helpful every one i came across was so lovely not a single negative energy all smiling and happy to help you.The girls in the animation team are lovely so so nice. Bar staff are always happy. Reception are always happy to help. Lifeguards were nice very funny and always had a good laugh with the kids.

Cleanliness

As i said rooms were cleaned every day without fail. There is always cleaners walking around cleaning up and toilets are cleaned very frequently. The stairs near block B were sometimes a bit dirty however it’s an outside step and people would complain but that doesn’t bother us it’s outside.

Resort & Facilities

The greenery is kept well maintained and is nice to look at. The resort has a lot going on however also places for downtime and it can please everyone. There is an arcade, lots of bouncy castles and other ride on things. The bouncy castles are €10 for the whole night which is reasonable.There is two shops on sight one supermarket and one other shop. There is also a bar with crepes, pancakes and waffles however need to pay but were very nice

Accessibility & Night-Time

It is very quiet at night which is good for children.However not many lifts however ramps to the main areas but we didn’t see many lifts.

Overall / Would We Return?

Overall the resort is absolutely amazing for kids and adults alike. Obviously some things that could be improved but didn’t bother us personally. Even though there is no teens club there is still an arcade and slides which made up for that. Definitely worth the money and we would definitely return to this hotel.
