Matilda Hotel

Dear Mr. George, "hotel manager" This was the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. This 4 star hotel is a joke and in reality is more like a wannabe 2 star hotel.

Everything is outdated, smells and is sticky... from the doorknob, furniture, bedsheets, water faucet, doors, cutlery, baby chair, hotel dispensing machines, toilet room, floor drains, cleaning was superficial.

All inclusive is in fact all inclusive cheap food and beverages, food was reheated, reused from breakfast to lunch to dinner and the next day. Sticky cutlery that needs to be cleaned and polished each time you want to eat. Staff serving you drinks after throwing out the trash, trash next to the dishwasher, trash bags at the top of the kitchen stairs where the fresh products are placed on hold to be used afterwards for the guests, not to mention the same staff bringing clean plates after disposing of dirty ones. As for the food, it was a disgrace for greek culture and for other ones... no taste, to salty, overcooked, undercooked, reheated, reused, scrambled eggs 3 days ago smelling like dirty socks, pastries undercooked or burnt, wather from the bain-marie was almost brown every time I checked underneath the food serving area... After seeing this we decided to eat somewhere else in town.

We stayed at Matilda Hotel for two nights, and that was enough for us. The food was okay, but dirty plates and cutlery were a recurring issue. Drinks tasted like cheap, sugary versions of well-known brands, and the wine on tap was poor. There were no higher-quality alternatives available.

The hotel also appears to need significant maintenance. Our room was not properly cleaned, and when we reported it, management blamed new staff rather than taking responsibility. We also had issues with a sink drain, and after maintenance was completed, sludge and plumbing debris were left behind in the bathroom.

Most concerning was a dark, mold-like growth near the air conditioning unit. Management removed the visible staining with soap and water, but it did not seem like the underlying cause was investigated or fixed.

The manager was friendly and did try to address our complaints, but overall the standards of cleanliness, maintenance, and food and beverage quality were disappointing. We were asked to leave a 10/10 review, but I promised an honest one.

Unfortunately, this is not a hotel we would return to.
