Qawra
Right at the heart of Qawra, right at the heart of the action, the Santana hotel has to be one of Malta's most desirable spots. With its light sea blue livery, the hotel signposts its location – just a minute from the seafront itself.
The Qawra seafront is a favourite spot for holidaymakers, with its many shops, bars, cafes and restaurants. Beyond the promenade is another of its main attractions, the rocky beach, a haven for swimmers and sun bathers – and a great place to explore. Qawra is also home to some of Malta's most prized cultural sites too – no visit is complete without a trip to the historical towers and the church of St Francis of Assisi.

Even with such a perfect location, the Santana Hotel is more than just a base for exploring and enjoying Malta. It is, after all, a four star hotel with four star facilities to match.
There's a Wellness club offering over 80 health & beauty therapy treatments (at a fee ) and adding to the spa feel is a sauna and the opportunity for a massage (at a fee), plus a superb wellness centre with over plenty of treatments available.
After all of that, you can pick and choose one of the bars or restaurant's to while away a few pleasant hours in the evening.
Guests of the Santana Hotel often like to round things off by staying to enjoy the hotel's own schedule of entertainment – it does make for a very sociable end to the day.
Finally to bed. All rooms feature an en suite bathroom, most have a bath/shower and some just have showers. Rooms also feature tip top amenities like satalite TV (with pay TV), radio and hairdryer. Another bonus – keeping the temperature just right is a cinch with the centrally controlled air conditioning. Rooms were fully renovated in 2019 including the bathrooms which all rooms except Studio's feature a walk-in shower. Please note. All rooms free Wi-Fi and free use of safe. Most rooms feature a balcony – so you can look out at the twinkling lights of Qawra. Please note 'Economy Rooms' do not feature a balcony but only a window.
The Santana Hotel is as much a reason to choose Qawra for your Maltese holiday destination as the towers of the Knights of St John, or the beaches or the accessibility to other locations. Choosing the right hotel really is that important.

Just a minute from the picturesque seafront at Qawra, the Santana is at the heart of one of Malta's prime tourist areas with excellent shops and entertainment. Guest facilities include an indoor freshwater pool with jacuzzi, a sauna and massage (at a fee) and fitness room. Meals are served in the main dining room.

Great week
Fantastic stay at the Santana Hotel
After reading some of the negative reviews before coming, I’ll be honest, I was a little nervous and wasn’t quite sure what to expect. Having now stayed here, I’m really not sure what some people were disappointed about! The hotel was clean, our room was spacious and the staff were all extremely friendly, helpful and welcoming. Nothing was ever too much trouble.
Breakfast was your typical buffet breakfast, but there was a large choice and plenty to choose from, so we certainly couldn’t complain. 3 beautiful pools, which again was spotless The location was also fantastic. The Santana is extremely central and within easy walking distance of the square, shops, restaurants and everything else you need.
Sometimes I think people like to moan for the sake of moaning! We honestly didn’t experience anything that would put us off returning. We’ve really enjoyed our stay and would happily come back again. 😊

Gorgeous hotel
The hotel is lovely and all the staff are amazing- Anish, Rion, Janga really met our needs and gave us such a comfortable holiday
Lovely stay at the Santana
Lovely stay at the Santana, room was available when we arrived. It was a lovely clean room. Nice big wardrobe, spare pillows if needed. Room was cleaned daily. The food is lovely, breakfast plenty of choice from Porridge to a cooked breakfast to fruit, cereals and pastries. Evening meal a choice of 3/4 hot choices and vegetables, potatoes. Also a salad bar. The staff are very friendly and accommodating.
The refurbished pool area is really nice, plenty of sunbeds, no need to go and lay your towel out in the morning as the pool does not open till 9am. Lots of space for everyone. There are 2 pools and one children's pool. There is a bar where you can get lunch and drinks. My only disappointment is they do not do snacks for lunch eg: sandwiches/wraps/toasties, chips etc. They serve bigger meals which i feel is too filling.
I like the Santana it is a lovely place to stay, i go every year and hope to continue to.

Just arrived in Malta for the first time hotel stunning We went to the bar and we were welcomed by a beautiful man Niraj so welcoming and friendly genuinely a lovely man who was happy to chat to us and get to know us I had some fantastic cocktails Wonderful start to our holiday 😁

A pleasant surprise in many ways
We have been time share owners at the Santana for many years and the hotel has undergone many changes during that time and mostly for the better. This year as part of the refurbishment - our studio was dismantled, turned into a standard hotel room and we now get breakfast (which didn’t excite me as I recall the food being less than decent in the past) So we were not particularly happy about it but had to suck it up. I have however been pleasantly surprised. I asked and was provided with an iron/ board, the room was clean and spacious (a little too spacious) but we had everything we needed. Hair drier, fridge, tea/coffee facilities, and they ever provided a higher table for the balcony so we could play cards.
We were also fortunate to be provided with 2 complementary dinners. The first was ok - too much sesame oil in the chow mein and salty wedges but the slow cooked roast beef with jus, veg and roasties was possibly on of the best I’ve had anywhere. Top job Santana - you proved me wrong.
The staff are super helpful and special thanks to Charlene and Stephanie - you both changed my opinion on many things here. Great ambassadors for the brand.
Beautiful refurb of the pool area and no longer is there a bun fight for sunbed. Love the piped music. Happy cocktail hour, but reasonable drink prices.
