Everything about hotel great including introduction of new small pool. Staff excellent as always. One complaint I have every year why do you not supply heated plates for dinner service, putting hot food on cold plates doesn’t work.
Exceptional Value and Service.
Do not be swayed by negative reviews of this property. This was our sixth stay at a Barceló property, and this hotel was nothing short of exceptional from start to finish.The hotel is modern, beautifully maintained, and extremely clean. The staff were consistently attentive, friendly, and helpful throughout our stay. Our room was spacious and thoughtfully equipped with everything we could have needed, including tea and coffee facilities, a mini fridge, robes, slippers, a hairdryer, and some lovely extras in the bathroom. The air conditioning worked perfectly, and we even had a smart TV in the room.
The outdoor pool is located at the beach club directly across from the hotel, which is easily accessible through an underground walkway from reception. We had a side sea-view room, and the view was incredible. The location is another major highlight. The hotel is just a 5-minute walk from the Sliema ferry terminal, making it easy to get to Valletta and Gozo. It’s also only a 2-minute walk from Malta’s largest retail center, with plenty of restaurants and shops nearby.
Housekeeping was exceptional, and the 5-star breakfast was absolutely outstanding. We loved the indoor pool—it was quiet, peaceful, and the perfect place to relax.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would happily return. We highly recommend it. Book your stay before it’s sold out!
Exceptional Stay in Malta
Had an exceptional stay at the Barcelo Fortina in Malta, all aspects of the hotel were exactly what was required for a memorable relaxing getaway.. Thank you all .. Will see you all again soon
Well located and overall, good quality hotel
The breakfast has an impressive selection, but quality is more important than quantity. Lukewarm tea was the biggest downfall. Overall, enjoyable stay.

Hotel is spotless but not very good with food
Disappointed as it was our 45 Anniversary first time in Malta no one read there emails the travel agent sent in February that I need a shower room as couldn’t get in a bath and I had a bath in my room !!!
