Radisson Blu Resort St Julians

We stayed at the Radisson Blu Resort in Malta and overall had a good experience, although there are a few things that could definitely be improved, especially for a five-star hotel. The staff were exceptionally friendly, helpful and professional throughout our stay. The hotel itself is generally in quite good condition, but there are some visible signs of wear and lack of maintenance. We noticed cracks on the façade around our balcony, as well as some damaged and chipped areas on the walls around the pool. These are relatively small details, but they are noticeable and not really what you would expect from a five-star property. Breakfast was one of the highlights – very good, varied and plentiful, with plenty of choice for both adults and children. However, there was only one water dispenser available during breakfast, which constantly resulted in people queuing just to get a glass of water. For a hotel of this size and category, this was honestly a little ridiculous and could be solved very easily. Another significant downside was the pricing of the restaurants inside the resort. We found them very expensive, particularly for families. A basic meal for two adults and two children aged 7 and 8 – with each person ordering just one main dish and no drinks – would rarely cost less than €80. Once you add drinks, starters or desserts, the price naturally goes considerably higher. Considering there is no all-inclusive option available, food expenses can add up very quickly during a longer family stay. Overall, we enjoyed our stay, mainly thanks to the excellent staff, good facilities and very good breakfast. However, some maintenance issues, the poorly organised water situation at breakfast and the high restaurant prices prevent the hotel from fully living up to the five-star standard. Myself and my husband had the endless love package in Dees spa. This is the worst spa experience Ive ever had!!! Neither of our therapists have been trained. I had an additional treatment of reflexology. I did not recieve this. My husbands masseuse grunted and coughed for the full treatment. We didnt get the prosecco that is part of the package. We were not even offered water. There arent towels or hairdryers in the changing area. To use a locker you are expected to pay 10 euro. There is no relaxation area. My husband wanted to use the pool. It was over run with noisey children. (I do not have a problem with children but dont expect them in a spa) Neither of us could eat the food. It was absolutely disgusting. We couldnt not eat even the fries. I would warn anyone off this hotel and spa.
