Welcome to Domus Zamittello, a restored 17th century palazzo, ideally located at the beginning of Republic Street, just as one enters the cultural capital city of Valletta. Domus Zamittello invites guests to enjoy the vibrant and cultural baroque capital along with its high-end shopping addresses whilst appreciating the architectural beauty of this prestigious building. The hotel offers accommodation in different elegantly designed classic rooms, some overlooking the hotel courtyard whilst those on South Street overlook the open theatre.This comfortable Hotel is located in Valletta. This elegant 17th Century home had originally been part of the earlier estate of the Auberge D'Italie, one of the langues of the Order of St John. Recent research dates the palazzo back to 1633 when it was used by various knights of Italian descent. and was then known as Casa Pensa. In 1805, after the departure from Malta of the Knights of St John, the British Governor granted ownership of the palazzo to Sir Giuseppe Nicola Zamitt, for services to the Crown. In recent years, the present Count of Mont'Alto, a descendant of Sir Giuseppe Nicola Zamitt after whom the palazzo is now named, embarked on a project to enlarge it and restore the entire property to its former glory. Opened in 2018, Domus Zamittello has 21 elegant and comfortable rooms, out of which six suites, five of which are spacious duplexes. The spacious 125 sq m sun terrace on the third floor overlooks Republic Street, as well as the entrance to Valletta, the Triton Fountain and beyond. Reception service is available 24 hours a day.

Fantastic place to stay in historic Valetta
I would give this a 12 if I could. This is a palazzo owned by a famous resident of Malta and renovated with great attention to historic detail. We arrived, tired from our flight, and were immediately offered a refreshing glass of water or other drink in the cool air-conditioned salon next to the entrance desk. The concierge was wonderful and informative. In no time, we were going up to our room with a staff person carrying our luggage and entered the historically accurate room with a nice big bathroom. The beds were comfortable and the room was stocked with everything we could have needed. Right outside was access to a roof porch from which I could see the sunrise touch each surrounding building little by little. Our night was quiet with no outside noice. I receive a lot of help from the concierge in terms of making reservations for dinner, advice on what to see etc. Because the hotel was in the historic district, car access was limited. Upon leaving they help get all the bags up a nearby street and into the hotel car which returned us to the airport. All in all it was one of the best hotel experiences I have had.

Great location and very comfortable
The location of this hotel was ideal, it was very convenient to walk around Valletta as well as quick access to public transportation. The staff were very kind and welcoming. The breakfast was delicious. The room was very comfortable, there was a bit of street noise from Republic Street but this was easily blocked with ear plugs if you’re sensitive to noise. I would definitely recommend this hotel.
Great higher end boutique option in Valetta
Small boutique hotel right on the main street in Valetta and near the entrance to Valetta (so not too far from drop off points). Hotel is spotless and well refurbished. Modern styling but not ultra-modern, and building still has a lot of Malta charm about it. Staff and service is outstanding and they will do anything for you. WiFi was very strong. Breakfast was also very good with cooked options and very generous.

Best of the Best
One of the nicest hotels and friendliest staff you will ever see when staying at a hotel. They couldn't do enough for us. Booking restaurants, car service, providing beach towels for our boat excursion. They even brough us wine upon request on the terrazzo for sunset. Highly recommend and can't wait to go back very soon!

Amazing
We stayed here for four nights, there is not enough adjectives to describe it. We were welcomed into the hotel and shown to our room by Maria. The room was stunning, a large comfortable bed, beautifully decorated in cream and blue tones. The bathroom was large and spotlessly clean. The hook for the bathrobes had come off the wall but once reported was quickly rectified. Although we were at the front of the hotel there was no noise from the busy street below. Breakfast was fabulous, the staff are so welcoming, a good balance between friendly and professional. Maria gave us lots of information, she is a real asset to the hotel. Would we go back? Yes, yes yes. Absolutely loved it. Malta is my happy place and it will not be my last visit. Thank you to everyone for making our city break so special and memorable.
