Aqua Pedra dos Bicos Design Beach Hotel - Adults Only

Absolutely appalled by the way we were treated.

Around an hour after checking out, while waiting for our airport transfer, we were called back to reception and accused of breaking the TV in our room. We were completely shocked because we did not break it. I asked to see the TV in the room, but I was refused entry and told it had already been removed, despite us only checking out around an hour earlier.

The TV was then brought into reception with obvious external damage. We repeatedly told the staff and the hotel manager that none of us had broken it. There were four of us, none of us had been drinking, and we had to make it absolutely clear countless times that we did not damage the TV. It felt like we were being pressured into accepting responsibility for something we hadn’t done.

We were told to pay almost €600 or the police would be called. Our transfer to the airport was waiting outside, so as four young people in a foreign country, we felt we had no choice but to pay to avoid missing our flight.

Jet2 were no help whatsoever despite us contacting them while it was happening.

The whole experience felt extremely unfair and completely ruined the end of our holiday. I would strongly suggest you rethink about going to this hotel if you’ve booked it!

This was our second visit to Aqua Pedra Dos Bicos Hotel for ten days, highly recommend this hotel. Stayed bed and breakfast which is quite adequate. We dined out at local restaurants of an evening. You can also dine at the hotel but we just didn’t get time. Breakfast buffet the best, hot and cold options, fruit, cereal, pastries, yoghurt, toast. Endless choices. Replenished constantly by super efficient staff. Plenty of tables to sit at and absolutely no rush to vacate. Enjoy your coffee and a sneaky pastry afterwards. Lunch by the pool one day was pleasant, used our eco vouchers which was a bonus. This time we had a room on the third floor with great view over the Quinta and a fabulous sunrise. Our housekeeper Rosa was exceptional, so friendly and attentive to detail. Pool is small and reasonably quiet with plenty of sun beds, parasols. The sun worshippers out there of course all day and before breakfast…. We found the local beaches more comfortable with a sea breeze. Uber is a reasonable price to Santa Eulalia Beach or the Old Town Albufeira. Back to the Hotel, robes, slippers, safe provided, super comfy bed, the best sleep ever. Note this time we visited you only get water and coffee pods on first night. Coffee pods can be purchased at local supermarket. We have never had any issues drinking the tap water, but bottled water available at supermarket too. Such a surprise when on my birthday afternoon a special note, bubby and cake was delivered to our room, reduced me to tears it was so heartfelt and lovely. Words can’t express how special that made my day, thank you so so much. Can’t wait to visit our Happy Place soon xx

We have absolutely loved our stay here and, honestly, I’m surprised this isn’t a 5-star hotel because it really does feel like one.

We stayed on a bed and breakfast basis, and the breakfast was an easy 10/10. There was a fantastic variety of food every morning, everything was fresh and great quality, and there was something for everyone.

The pool area is one of the best we’ve experienced. We never once struggled to get a sunbed, no matter what time we went down, and there was always plenty of space to relax. The pool itself is lovely, and the pool snacks and drinks are excellent quality while still being really affordable.

The rooms are immaculate. They’re modern, spotless and incredibly well looked after. We also loved the hotel’s eco-friendly initiative where, if you don’t need your room cleaned every day, you receive a £5 voucher to spend at the pool bar. It’s a brilliant idea that rewards guests while helping the environment.

The cleanliness throughout the hotel is exceptional. Even the poolside toilets are kept spotless all day, which says a lot about the standards here.

Every member of staff we met was genuinely friendly, welcoming and happy to help. From reception to the bar staff, everyone made us feel at home and nothing ever seemed too much trouble.

The absolute highlight has to be the rooftop bar. The views are breathtaking, the atmosphere is so relaxed, the drinks are reasonably priced, and the staff there are just as fantastic. It’s the perfect place to watch the sun go down.

One thing to mention is that there are quite a few seagulls around during the day. If you’re not a fan of birds, it’s worth knowing, but we actually found them quite entertaining and they added a bit of character to the place!

Being an adults-only hotel makes such a difference too. The whole atmosphere is calm, relaxing and peaceful. Whether you’re here for a chilled holiday or planning to enjoy Albufeira’s nightlife before returning somewhere quiet to unwind, this hotel is ideal.

The location is perfect – it’s close enough to Albufeira’s Strip if you fancy a night out, but far enough away that you can still enjoy peace and quiet. It’s also really easy to get to the Old Town with an Uber, which costs around £6 at most. (Top tip: if you’re heading to the Old Town, set your destination as the escalators of old town)

Without a doubt, this is one of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed in. I wouldn’t hesitate to return, and I’d recommend it to anyone looking for a clean, relaxing, friendly and fantastic-value stay in Albufeira.
