Disappointing experience – far from 5-star standard

We stayed at the hotel for 8 nights in July/August 2026. Unfortunately, the experience did not live up to our expectations.

The first apartment had a strong unpleasant smell, particularly in the bedroom, loose floor tiles, a damaged wall and loose drawers/cabinet doors. We were moved to another apartment the following day. It was better, but still clearly worn and musty.

We also experienced stained bed linen and towels, which were threadbare and actually had holes in them. The lampshades were covered in unexplained stains, and overall the condition of the apartment was extremely worn.

The restaurant experience was also disappointing considering the price and the standard we expected. The breakfast buffet was very crowded unless if you came as soon as they opened.

The worst part, however, was the way our complaint was handled afterwards. The hotel acknowledged that the first apartment was not satisfactory, but nevertheless rejected our request for compensation for the first night. After two rounds of complaints, the hotel maintained its decision and declared the matter closed.

The location is beautiful and the outdoor facilities are good, but in our experience, the hotel was far from the 5-star standard we expected.

We would not choose this hotel again.

A very good hotel in a fantastic location, but unfortunately the overall experience falls well short of what one would expect from a hotel of this standard and price range.

A significant proportion of the staff appear poorly trained and, in many cases, lack the professionalism, attentiveness and interpersonal skills expected at this level. Given the very high cost of staying at this hotel, the quality of service is simply not consistent with the price or the category of the property.

I was also genuinely astonished by the seemingly endless queues for both breakfast and dinner. Having to wait in long lines just to enter the restaurant is difficult to understand and even harder to accept in a hotel of this standard. At these prices, guests should reasonably expect a much smoother, better organised and more comfortable dining experience.

The prices charged at the hotel bars are also excessively high, even by the standards of an upscale resort.

Overall, the hotel has an excellent location and considerable potential, but there is a great deal that needs to improve — particularly staff training, professionalism and friendliness, restaurant organisation, and the pricing policy in the hotel bars. For a hotel charging premium prices, guests are entitled to expect a genuinely premium level of service.
