Great hotel, amazing staff!
Enjoyed a 5 night stay in September. I enjoyed and appreciated the buggy ride to our room. The room was spacious, robe and slippers provided along with bottled water and coffee both of which replenished daily. Housekeeping were brilliant, great job each day! I did find the mattress incredibly hard, but that's a preference. The patio door does need a handle, as we had to keep pushing it open from the outside touching the glass which left marks on the glass. The grounds are very well maintained. Beautiful flowers everywhere, lots of little birds, occasional cat and a man with a kestrel walks the grounds most days. Food was good but more variety would be great. We went to Salty for lunch which mostly had salad or burgers. I did fall in love with the Algarve cake with the almonds! So good!! Dinner was themed but if you wanted something else it was either pasta with Bolognese or salad again. Never had to queue for food, everything worked well and the staff kept on top of clearing tables. The pools were nice, but we had to follow the "if you can't beat them join them" to be able to grab a place in the adult pool area. Although it states towels unattended for an hour will be removed, we had observed a couple leave theirs for over 4 hours without anyone attempting to move their belongings. Made it impossible to get a space unless you went down before 8am! Also the pool bar doesn't serve until 11am and whilst I understand not serving alcohol until that time, a soft drink would be nice. He's there to hand out towels so it would be great to also serve tea, coffee and juice. Handy to have the walk-way over the bridge and path to the beach. Loved the train, it was lovely to be able to pop into town and explore. Overall, great hotel with wonderful staff! They only reason I wouldn't be able to return would be the mattress as I slept badly most nights, but everything else was great!!

Short break
30 minute walk from Alvor Village, although there is a train taking you there at set times. We have come out of season so did not have to wait for food, however there was still a lot of children, bonus adults only pool which did get very busy. Our room was excellent no complaints. Fair price. They shut the bars at 11 just so people are aware. We were here for 5 nights and got 2 à la carte restaurants and they were excellent. I would recommend that they look at the toilet arrangements. You have to walk far if you need a toilet, there should be 1 nearer the adults pool and various other locations. We found 3 blocks of toilets in a very large complex

Enjoyable visit
Second time here and thoroughly enjoyed both visits. The resort is situated in very smart well maintained grounds with accommodation in numerous blocks around the site. The accommodations are situated separately from other areas of the hotel like restaurants, bars and entertainments. It works well I think. Food is pretty much standard all inclusive fare and unless you are incredibly fussy there’s always something to eat. Beer is Super Bock and we didn’t upgrade to premium where spirits are premium rather than local. Pool areas are busy but we didn’t have any issues with sunbeds. We used the adult only pool. The family pool is much busier with music all day which we’d prefer not to have. Rooms are well appointed and spotlessly clean. Slippers and robes included with small refrigerator and complementary bottles of water and coffee machine although if you want tea in the room you’re compelled to “stealing” tea bags from the dining hall and buying some milk as these are not replenished daily. Free road train into Alvor at various times during day which is worth the trip. Alvor is a nice little town with some nice bars and restaurants if you want them. Is Tivoli 5* ? I’d say not but it’s top end 4* and I’d go back again and likely will.

Perfect Algarve Holiday
Close to gorgeous beach with caves and small coves with natural wave pool. Hotel train runs hourly from Tivoli to small fishing village of Alvor with lots of bars and restaurants along the waterfront and cobbled streets.
Lively pool scene with daily waterpolo, aquazumba and other activities such as Caiprinha making masterclass!. Pools close to bars and pop up pool bars serving wine, beers and sangria. Very family friendly with a fabulous children’s pool and a relaxed pool atmosphere for all ages. There is also an adults only pool which looked very chilled out compared to other pool areas. Lots of sunbeds available and towels provided with towel passes which can also be taken to the beach and returned daily for fresh ones.
All inclusive options were plentiful and had a dedicated kids table. Breakfast, lunch and dinner were varied and had a good balance of hot and cold options. We enjoyed the bbq lunch options and salad bar at the snack bar. Bottled water and wines available all day to help yourself in the restaurants. À la carte restaurants available were Italian and a grill restaurant. Advise to book as soon as possible for this as it can fill quickly.
Rooms were cleaned and fresh towels provided daily. Bedding changed frequently too which was lovely. Bottled water replenished daily and gorgeous, modern rooms. The apartment blocks are clean and spaced out nicely. No sunloungers on patios, only chairs but still lovely.
Padel courts and wellness centre also available. Wellness centre was beautiful with comfy loungers available as well as sauna, steam room, heated pool and large whirlpool.
The hotel is situated within a gated complex and feels very self-contained. A supermarket is a short 15/20min walk away. The whole complex felt very safe overall and the pools were not too deep. Some of the rooms were an uphill walk which might not be suitable for all, but there were well lit paths and hotel operated buggies which take luggage to your room on arrival to aid with this.
Overall we have had an excellent holiday here at Tivoli Alvor, and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this for anyone looking for a relaxed holiday.
Tivoli Is Amazing! I will be returning!!
To begin, we landed at Faro Airport, the journey was around an hour with a transfer stopping off at other hotels.
Impressions were good from the get go, the hotel had a gated entrance and with a nice modern reception. Staff at the reception were great, from when we first got there to questions we had halfway through the holiday. They also had a nice suitcase storage area where I felt my belongings were safe and they had a ticket for each item stored.
We then went to our room, the accommodation is stunning and great, nice and spacious, with plenty of storage room, comfortable beds, decent sized balcony and a stunning bathroom. We personally asked cleaners to clean our room and swap our towels out every day which they did, the room was spotless!
The entertainment staff in the day, were great, they were engaging and tried to get everyone involved but were mo pushy, they’d ask once and if you said no they would just leave you alone, when doing the activities they involved everyone who was participating nevermind age, gender, ability etc… my particular favourite was the water polo. I can’t comment on the night time entertainment, we didn’t participate in this, we much preferred to sit at the outdoor bar drinking as much as we could 🤣
The pools were clean and nice, with plenty of sunbeds available so there was no rush! There was even a direct path to a local beach which was a approximately 10 minutes walk and was also stunning!
The drink selection was amazing, we weren’t premium guests and don’t feel like you needed to be, the selection of drinks were amazing, and the bar staff were incredibly generous.
The food was amazing, the general restaurant was a buffet styled eating area, serving lovely fresh food, some was even being cooked in front of of you. Even thought it was buffet styled, in the evening the front of house staff would take you to your seats/table giving you the choice of outdoor or indoor dining and then waiters/waitresses would offer you fresh bottled water and would bring you drinks whilst you got your food. We were entitled to 2 à la carte meals, we went to Rustica and the Italian and oh my, they were beautiful, words cannot describe!
All in all, the value for money was great, the stay was completely enjoyable and I have literally no complaints!! I will definitely be returning!
