We stayed here for 4 nights and I’d probably give it 3 stars.

The main reason it gets 3 rather than 2 is actually down to the guy on reception when we arrived. We were really early and had about 4 hours before the normal check-in time. At first he didn’t seem that interested, but when we said we’d just sit and wait, he said he’d phone housekeeping and ask if they could do our room next. They did, and we were able to get into the room much earlier than expected. We genuinely appreciated that, especially after travelling.

As for the hotel itself, it’s definitely seen better days. It’s very old and tired and could really do with being updated. The bathroom had quite a strong smell of urine, which wasn’t great, and the furniture and kitchen utensils in the kitchenette looked like they’d been there since the place opened. You could honestly put some of it in a museum!

The air con in the sitting area also didn’t work, although to be fair that wasn’t a huge issue for us as we weren’t really spending much time in the hotel. It was basically somewhere for us to sleep.

The beds were actually really comfortable though, and we slept well all 4 nights, so no complaints there.

Overall, it did the job for what we needed, and the early check-in was genuinely appreciated, but the hotel is in need of a fair bit of TLC. We wouldn’t be rushing back, but for somewhere just to sleep, it was okay.

I honestly have no idea how this property can be rated as a 4-star aparthotel. What we found was absolutely disgusting and nowhere near the standard anyone should expect from a 4-star property. The apartment was in a shocking state of repair and cleanliness. The bathroom in particular was appalling: the bathtub was filthy and heavily stained, the walls and joints were visibly dirty and deteriorated, and parts of the ceiling were literally coming apart. There were obvious signs of water damage and leaks, including around the air-conditioning unit. The overall condition looked neglected rather than maintained. The walls throughout the apartment showed cracks, peeling and damaged finishes. The sealant and edges around the bathroom and floor were dirty, deteriorated and clearly overdue for proper maintenance. The photographs speak for themselves. And then there was the smell. The room had a persistent sewage/drain smell which made the stay extremely unpleasant. This is simply not acceptable accommodation, regardless of the number of stars. For an aparthotel, the facilities were also extremely disappointing. There was no dishwasher, no washing machine and no oven, which makes the apartment far less practical than you would reasonably expect from this type of accommodation. What makes this even more frustrating is that this is not just a case of an old building or slightly dated decoration. There is a huge difference between “dated” and dirty, damaged and poorly maintained. This place has clearly crossed that line. The air-conditioning appears to have had water leakage, the bathroom ceiling is damaged, the bathtub is in a disgraceful condition, the walls are deteriorating and there is a sewage smell in the room. These are basic maintenance and hygiene issues, not minor cosmetic imperfections. Calling this a 4-star property is, quite frankly, misleading. A 4-star rating creates a certain expectation of cleanliness, maintenance and quality — and this apartment fell dramatically short of all three. My advice to anyone considering staying here: look at the photos carefully and think twice before booking. What you see online does not prepare you for the condition of the apartment we were given. This was one of the most disappointing accommodation experiences I have ever had. Absolutely not 4-star standard.
