5 Star Luxury
Proper 5 star luxury set in a peaceful hill top sanctuary. Beautiful, tasteful, clean and spacious rooms. Fantastic service from the well trained staff. Great spa facilities including indoor and outdoor pool as well as a steam and sauna. A tennis court with rackets and balls provided. Food and drink caters for casual lunches as well as fine dining depending on your requirements. Lovely buffet style breakfast as well as options for eggs anyway. What more could you want. Highly recommend.
A fantastic stay - will definitely be back
I had the absolute pleasure of staying at Veuhlo de Casa this July for a wedding. The hotel is just a short trip from the airport, set in the hills above Funchal, and the setting is absolutely stunning.
Surrounded by lush vegetation and perfectly kept gardens, it has impeccable luxury facilities, super attentive and friendly staff, excellent food and a wine selection to die for. If you like golf, it is also the perfect place to stay with a course on site.
I was genuinely very sad to leave but will definitely be returning for a holiday next year.
I would recommend this to anyone. A real gem on this gem of an island.

Amazing stay in Madeira
We had such a nice experience staying at Casa Velha Do Palheiro. The setting is beautiful, and all the facilities are top with indoor and outdoor pools, a tennis court, and the most scenic golf course. The staff is so friendly and has looked after us non-stop. Highly recommend this place.
Tranquil paradise in the hills
We recently stayed at Casa Vehla for a friends wedding. The staff were lovely and the atmosphere is so tranquil - you feel as if you are in a former ‘hunting lodge’ in the hills surrounded by beautiful flora and fauna. Views from the Clubhouse over Funchal are spectacular. It makes a perfect retreat for golf enthusiasts or simply those who are there to discover the island - magical! Palheiro gardens are a ‘must see’ with so many exotic trees, flowers and plants. Thank you to all - we will be back!
